April 6th dcl announcement

I posted earlier about the pricing and to clarify a bit...

What I am saying is that if all the itineraries are out there and a lot of money we just won't be able to go. It has nothing to do with wanting to or thinking it is worth it. I think it would be worth it! I am just saying we wouldn't be able to do it and we would do WDW again most likely and save for another cruise year.

I agree with the fact that there are "cruisers" and "Disney cruisers". I have been on one other line along time ago before kids but I wouldn't go back.

However as was pointed out... at what price point does it make a difference? I want a Disney product and would save a few years to do one but if it ends up being 2 or 3k higher than let's say trying the Oasis I would have to at least consider it. :confused3

I also would not switch lines for $400. :)

I think that the Hawaii/Alaska announcement is just a let down for me at this point because the times in May and September do not work for us at all so it really doesn't matter on price. I teach at a local community and we don't ever finish til the middle of May. So the dates that everyone is finding will not work... bummer! Too bad they couldn't have done end of May, Memorial Day time frame, when at least some schools are out. Oh well!

Still hoping for something on the Magic out of a closer east coast port!

When the Magic repositioned for the first time in 2005 out to LA the Cruise through to LA was in May and the Cruise back was in September. I had to skip my college graduation to go on the one too LA! TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!

I'm sure it was! That would be cool. Unfortunately if I want a teaching contract for the next year I better not go MIA before the semester officially ends! :rotfl:

I don't think alaska is part of the repositioning in 12 days unless the cruise is ending in Alaska instead of Vancouver or Seattle

It is a cruise including both Alaska and Hawaii. I believe it will be going from LA to Alaska first, then onto Hawaii, then back to LA. Ports, days at sea, etc. are unknown at this point.

Okay, that does not interest me as much, plus the timing is not too good. I'm not too keen going to Hawaii, been there too many times already. :sad2:

Missed Alaska . . .

How in the world can we fit Alaska in with a 12-night itinerary? How fast can the Wonder go? Here is another stab..........It would make sense to fit 1 Alaska port going northbound, but probably not from LA to Hawaii southbound.

Day 1: Apr 29--LA
Day 2: Apr 30--At Sea
Day 3: May 1--At Sea
Day 4: May 2--At Sea
Day 5: May 3--At Sea
Day 6: May 4--Hilo, HI
Day 7: May 5--Honolulu
Day 8: May 6--Honolulu
Day 9: May 7--At Sea
Day 10: May 8--At Sea
Day 11: May 9--Ketchikan, Alaska
Day 12: May 10--At Sea
Day 13: May 11--Vancouver, BC. Don't think we can disembark at Seattle since there is no foreign port?

What do you think?;)

This time next week, the speculation about an
April 6th announcement will be over.
What will we all speculate about next??:hippie:

I agree. An Alaska itinerary includes a number of ports. I suspect his source indicated it was a 12 night Repositioning cruise to Alaska... which will probably be a repo cruise that goes from LA to Vancouver via the Hawaiian islands in May and a repo cruise from Vancouver to LA via the Hawaiian islands in September.

I'm interested in seeing how it can be done in 12 nights when most other cruise lines repositioning Hawaii cruises are 15+ nights.

Thanks for posting the Hilo reservation. 8^) There are so many days at sea on a repositioning cruise, but we couldn't ask for a better cruise line to spend all that time on.

Meanwhilst, when we do europe this summer we'll spend so much time in so many ports, there aren't nearly as many daze at sea, so the Disney atmosphere isn't as important to us. We'd rather save mega bucks with a different cruise line and put the savings toward another Disney cruise. 8^)

At the Wonder's Top Speed of 22 kts, it would take four and a half sea days to make the 2355 NM from honolulu to Ketchikan to Honolulu. This is with no currents at all. On a round-trip voyage, any current will slow the total time.

If you account for the trip up the coast to Alaska, then to HI, then back to LA, math and Physics do not allow for a 12 day trip.

So, this is what I've worked it out with only a 12-night itinerary based on what other cruise lines have done:

Day 1: Apr 29--LA
Day 2: Apr 30--At Sea
Day 3: May 1--At Sea
Day 4: May 2--At Sea
Day 5: May 3--At Sea
Day 6: May 4--Hilo, HI
Day 7: May 5--Honolulu
Day 8: May 6--Honolulu
Day 9: May 7--At Sea
Day 10: May 8--At Sea
Day 11: May 9--At Sea
Day 12: May 10--At Sea (or Service Stop at Ensenada)
Day 13: May 11--Seattle (if stopped at Ensenada) OR Vancouver, BC if no stop at Ensenada
Perhaps Vancouver would work for the foreign port, but a pretty boring itinerary. Rather rushed too.

What about Maui and Kauai? There are two ports on the Big Island -- Kona and Hilo. You really need a full week to tour the islands, plus eight daze at sea. There's a lot to see and do on Oahu, but Maui and Kauai are our favorites.

I said it was going to be more than 12 . . .

I said it was going to be more than 12 . . .

When you edited your original post today 35 minutes ago, you changed it to 12+. Your original post stated 12 days.

I never said you were making anything up, I just felt you misunderstood, however after editing post then stating that I was wrong in what I read, sir you have lost credibility.

If it's going to be more than 12 nights, then my bet is still for LA to Hawaii first since Hilo is scheduled as of now for May 4. Then, based on my last itinerary, maybe there is a day of sailing the Inside Pasage before debarking in Vancouver, BC.

Boy, with more than 12 nights, I think this is going to be an expensive cruise for a family of 4 for the cheapest deluxe inside. We need the split bath as I will have a baby and a 5 yr old. Then, there is the airfare on top...........

I'm starting to worried that this is going to look like at least $7k-$8k include taxes and port fees...........And I was so hoping this will be our first Disney cruise............maybe I should look into the RCI Honolulu--Vancouver repo.......

You are correct sir . . . I went back and saw that I missed the "+" in my original post and corrected it. Sorry for correcting a mistake. You people really love your vitriolic comments don't you . . . I meant to hit 12+ but must have missed it. I apologize for the confusion . . . not that it matters to all of you who insist on being angry and rude.

OMG -- THAT'S IT???? That's your "top secret I know someone who knows someone who told me the news"???? All of this about Hawaii to Alaska to LA has been discussed to the max over the past couple of months. This is neither a surprise nor is it "off base" as far as guessing goes. This sample itinerary has been the top guessed one for months!

And yes, you have gone back more than once and doctored your original postings when someone doesn't agree or points out an error.
This all just reeks of another certain person who used to post here that he always had "insider information" and usually fell flat on his face (but would never admit when he was wrong).

Anyway, while it was requested that we let it go, this "reveal" just makes it seem like we were all played!

Not true . . . I edited one thing in a post that I made a mistake on. There is no "reveal" here I made a mistake and corrected it . . . and admitted the mistake after correcting it. I thought I said 12+, went back and checked . . . saw I didn't and fixed it? Is fixing a mistake wrong? I never would have known. You just want to make me the enemy. And if the news falls flat and you don't like the itinerary . . . blame Disney not me . . . you'll see.

What is it with you people and your vitriol? Seriously? I really don't get it.

This is a DISNEY forum . . . you would think that you guys could keep it lighthearted and fun. But no . . . you have to be nasty . . . Unreal . . .
