April 6th dcl announcement

Okay, that does not interest me as much, plus the timing is not too good. I'm not too keen going to Hawaii, been there too many times already. :sad2:

That post reminded me of the NCIS LA episode where they discussed the 'humble brag'.

Does anyone have some insider info on upcoming kids free promotions?

Typically, this is offered about 4 to 7 months out for a particular itinerary that is not filling up fast enough. We could see one for the Magic or Wonder for this fall if DCL wants to fill up the remaining rooms. I doubt if they will have any promotions for the Dream or Fantasy until at least 2013.

I guess if you did a back to back I am going to look at all the lines and then make the choice. I would prefer Disney but if it only does those 3 ports I am out.

I'd be very interested in booking LA-HI-YVR (or the reverse for that matter), but I'm still wondering about the Magic. I think they really should send it over to Europe so it can make port stops at Le Havre as a gateway to DLP since it turns 20 next April. The first set of Med cruises tied in perfectly with DLP's 15th, afterall!

By the time Disney Hong Kong is finished, Japan should be ready and eager to welcome tourists. Realistically, how long would it take to cruise from LA to HI to Japan and Hong Kong? Would you do any other ports of call "while you're in the neighborhood?" As a PP mentioned, ultra-long itineraries especially during the school year would not work for many families. Obviously Japan and HK are "distant ports" which would satisfy the Jones act, so DCL wouldn't need to do a round trip. Hopefully they would pick up some wealthy Asian tourists who are interested in seeing Disneyland on the return voyage.

For those wishing/speculating about an Asian cruise (which I would love, btw), when we were looking at cruises to go on before deciding on the Med cruise, we looked at Princess for Asian cruises (typical itinerary ... Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong, China). The ships were small ships ... smaller than the Magic. In fact, they were so small, it scared my Mom off. :rotfl2: The travel agent told us that in order to get around the various ports, the ships had to be of a certain size.

Now, i don't know if she was just telling us a story to convince my mom that there were no "large" ships on the Asian cruises (I didn't trust her anyway, she kept telling us the Disney cruises were crap ... until we told her we enjoyed our cruise on it. :rotfl2:)

I think HK is always possible and until the earthquake/tsunami, Japan had some viable ports. (edit: I mean that those ports could handle a bigger ship but maybe the ports or paths for Vietnam and China wouldn't work)

My wish ... I wish the Baltic cruises would return. I'd love to also see Gibraltar.

What Central American countries did you have in mind? On the Panama Canal cruise the Wonder stopped at Aruba and we took a tour -- there's just not a whole lot there when they have to show the Natalie Holloway sites to have something to talk about.

I would love for Disney to go to Roatan. We went a few weeks ago with Princess. Such a beautiful place - hardly any commercialization at all.

Bringing the game aspect back to this . . . DING DING DING!!!! (sort of)

"Repositioning" out of LA going to both Alaska and then Hawaii in the same cruise . . . everyone happy? I believe he said Wonder, which they are planning to keep permanently on the west coast . . . but that part I may be mistaken.

That's nothing new - that was suggested/figured out weeks ago.

Solid reference to NCIS: LA . . . great show!

Why shoot the messenger if you don't care for the itinerary? Many itineraries were speculated over the last year... not just this one.

Last year we had to change our itinerary due to Hurricane Earl, and went to Roatan. It was the best place I ever visited. I hope we get back there someday...;)

Here is a photo of the carpet in the halls of the Dream. I found the ship placement on the "map" interesting.

Does any one know if the DCL office in ENgland is still there? Edited to add that mod has posted it is still up and running. This could be the star on the map.

I have been enjoying reading everyone's responses and even though I wish I could be in the know I agree that this is fun and has definitely provided me with entertainment in the last few days.

I don't really have a guess as much as it is a comment...

I am just hoping that the itineraries are not so out there that it costs 10k for a family to get an inside cabin.

Some of the itinerary ideas people have suggested sound amazing but not aimed at the family market. (or at least families like mine!)

My friends and relatives think we spend a lot on travel and I suppose we spend more than the average family by going to WDW and on cruises when we can. However, we are babies in the world of the Dis! Just because people on the boards would like an itinerary and would be able to afford it does not mean that most families woud be able to !

By all means if it is something really pricey we will just go to WDW and enjoy all your pics until we can do it! I know my dis friends will provide we with enough pics and trip reports to get me through!

I do hope that they have something interesting and new to announce that a family of 4 can book for under 5k!

I also hope we can get something exciting that doesn't involve needing 2 weeks off at a shot. Again, not to begrudge you lucky souls who can take a lot of time off at once... but it wouldn't work for us I'm afraid.

Good luck everyone! I hope everyone gets something they wish for!

this is how i feel too!

This is inline with the rest of the information I have . . .

Wonder permanently in LA, Magic permanently in the Med/England (maybe) once the Fantasy is delivered., and the Dream and Fantasy out of PC.

Surely the stars relate to the Disney parks...the Europe star is Disney Paris?

WEll after reading the rest of the pages and catching back up, It seems a little of a let down the "secret" news and if that carpet has anything to do with where this ships will be then nothing new on the horizon.....oh man, Now I am thinking they are not going to have anything to "exciting" to tell us on the 6th. I sure hope I am wrong....:sad2:

WOW! This is good news for the Magic. I would sail anywhere with her as long as it is not the Caribbean. Buddy, do you know the length of these Med/Europe sailings?

Thanks!
