April 30, 2012: 4 night on the Magic!

My parents upgraded at the terminal for their last cruise....but they weren't sure how that would affect their delivery and receipt of fe's......
Is there a way to let people know if you upgrade that day?

Take printable magnet sheets and cut them in smaller sizes. Then write the new cabin info on them and immediately go to all the participating rooms and put them on the doors.

Only way I can think of it. I'm not checking email, phones, nothing.

NOTHING I SAY!!!!! :woohoo:

In light of this, i'm moving them to benchwarmers and moving the others up. I have enough materials for everyone without them and with them, I need to purchase an extra package.

i can easily do something similar with items from home and which was my initial project if they ever do respond.

I've got enough for everyone on the list so I don't need to move her but I agree with the idea. I'm still hoping though that Chateau comes back and gives us the cabin # in the next week.

P.S. - so happy - all of my FE gifts are done! Happy, happy day! :yay: Now I just need to pack them :rolleyes1.

The other thought is once on board, you can go to guest services and I think they can leave a message for everyone (as long as you give them our cabin numbers) - you'll get the blinking red light on your room phone (on one of my other cruises someone had to do this).

I would offer to post a list on my door for any changes but that only works if everyone comes by to check.

I like either the magnet - or you could just print pieces of paper with the orignial information with a blank spot for the new cabin number - then if they upgrade, they could fill in the new cabin number and put them in everyone's fish (there is a slot for papers for the cabin steward to leave stuff).

Just please make sure they give the DIS board name please - that's how I have organized my stuff and if you start using "real names", I will be lost.

Do we want to do a meet and greet for everyone on the first day?

Like at 2:30pm at the Promenade Lounge?
Or an adult meet the first night at say 10pm at the Cove Cafe?

or any other suggestions......??

We will be flying in early Saturday. Spending a couple of days at the Poly...and then driving:drive: to the Port.

Love the Poly (it's where we stayed before our October 2010 DCL cruise). I rented DVC points this time for the one night (so I ended up getting a studio for $180 for the night) but my heart definitely belongs at the Polynesian :upsidedow

I'm not sure what the latest boarding time is. On the other one we are doing it at 3 at the promenade lounge and we are wearing mardi grad beads to helps us identify each other. Just want everyone to be able to get on the ship and get something to eat if need be. IMO. I know I will NEVER be kid free since my 5 year old is attached to our hips. You can agree or not no biggie. I'm outta here in 5 more days :yay:

Thank you for heading up the FE Patricia.

I am all for meeting up before the lifeboat drill....I think by then everyone should be on-board.

Any meet up location suggestions?

Count us in...would love to meet up. :wave2:

not certain for me. I'll be dealing with all the family..

plus i don't want you all to know what i look like if you don't like my gift!!! :lmao:

Well, I'm glad we're not the only "older couple"...
We love all things Disney. I have people asking me WHY a Disney cruise.:confused3(being that the kiddo's are not coming..and our youngest is 20!)...You just can't explain it. Either they get it or they don't. We love all things Disney :lovestruc and our first visit with the family was when our youngest was only 6 weeks old!
Obviously, we never get tired of it! Hoping the cruise is as enjoyable as WDW. It's our first!

I love it! While we have little ones people don't understand how we can go so often and not get bored, or why we don't go anywhere else. There's nothing like a visit with the mouse.

Yes, but as my mother says, "I know where you LIVE!" (only for 4 days, but still) ;)

Just kidding around - I'm sure whatever you're giving will be well appreciated by all :hippie:.

8 days people!!!! I'm leaving in 2 and have a ton of stuff left to do. I have a headache just thinking about it!

I'm somewhat confused, (no suprise there..). When I spoke with concierge they mentioned that Day Two was "semi formal" night. (was looking to make a Palo reservation..did get one for brunch on day three). However, I was reading on the board that there isn't a formal or semi formal night on the three or four night cruises? :scratchin
Personally, I hope there is one, because I bought something new for the occasion.:lovestruc
What do you guys know about this?:confused3

On 7 night cruises or longer the second formal night is called "semi-formal". On a 4 night cruise it's listed in the navigator as "Optional Dress-Up Night". I'm guessing because the Magic's always done the 7 night cruises up till now, their conceirge has not switched over to the "new lingo" of the short cruises.

On this cruise, I believe (and I as always, I may be wrong), but I think it's:

Day 1- cruise casual
Day 2 - optional dress up night
Day 3 - Pirate Night
Day 4 - cruise casual
