The Wonder is repositioning this week so thinking of going up to see her in San Francisco this week. It's an hour drive for us. Anybody else :confused3

I'm thinking about it, too. SF is about an hour from me as well. I wish I could see her sail under the Golden Gate Bridge. If I am able to go, it will be Saturday.

we don't NEED a passport for this cruise right? (i know its good to have) but is it required for this sailing???? thanks.....

I sent you a message on FB - have you tried a Crunchie bar? I can bring some on the ABD trip if you want ;)

I haven't tried a Crunchie Bar. They look yummy. If one or two were to fall in your bag for the ABD trip I would happily take them off your hands.

Unless they change the rules in the next year, you do not need them. On this cruise, the only time it would even be an issue is if you got deathly ill in Ensenada. All other ports are US. :thumbsup2

Welcome home! We love DVC!

Well all I can say is thank goodness for earthquakes! Between all the beautiful stuff that got destroyed in September and February (beautiful and unique pottery and china) and our tidy up (I have a ruthless streak), she can actually now see some of the gorgeous items she has in her living room. Still to tackle the books and linen :scared1:

She went from a large 4 bedroom home that was crammed with lovely things into a tiny two bedroom unit - the stuff simply doesn't fit.

We plant them in the vege garden. :)

Those conversations were so funny! Throw in a little Kiwi english too for good measure.

LOL at fanny packs... and I officially represent the "jandals" (though I actually call them "flip flops" as my Mum is English - just to add to the confusion)

We'll explain it all to you in a fortnight. ;)

Jumper/Sweater = Jersey...
;)

Your going to have to explain alot to me.. Beginning with a fortnight.... :confused3

We are thinking about seeing her up in San Francisco Friday. It all depends if there is a open seat on the plane to get there and back Friday.

I would love to be there as well. Any specific plans to meet up?

We'd love to meet with anyone coming into the city. The ship will be at pier 35, halfway between the Ferry Building and Pier 39. Unfortunately, you will only be able to see the top of the ship from the front of the wharf. The F streetcar stops across the street from pier 35. You can get the F on Market Street from the Bart exits.

I don't live near there but I do live sort of close to the Glen Park Bart and the J Street Car to Market Street, you would be welcome to meet at my house if you wanted. Otherwise we could meet near pier 35. Both Friday and Saturday are ok for us. Maybe we would want to put a note on the Forum page asking if any DISboard members want to meet up at the same time. The ship is leaving Saturday around 3:00, if the info on the web is correct.

The DCL regional is taking TAs to lunch onboard Friday. Any questions you want to have her ask when there?

Alan - hope you can make it. You probably already know this, but you can take Bart from SFO to the Ferry building, embarcadero station, pier 1 and then take the F to pier 35, or walk north about 1.5 miles (flat walking).

Oh I have done that walk a few times. I try not to use SFO. I prefer OAK when I come to the bay. The extra BART fare to SFO is high. It is cheaper to take Air BART from OAK ( I get a dollar off when I show my SWA ID) and then to Embarcadero station. Well we shal see. If the planes are full, we aren't coming as we won't be able to get on.

Val,
Are you sure pier 35? I thought I heard that the port authority up there moved all the cruise ships by AT&T park. Just want to make sure if we can make it we go the right direction.

According to the port authority and my sister who is meeting the DCL regional at the ship, it will be at pier 35. You are correct in that they are suppose to move the passenger ships to pier 30-32, which is just north of the ball park, but they haven't yet. People who bought condos there, knowing the plan was to build nice terminals across from them, have put up a stink to stop it. Because they don't want their views disturbed by those big ships. Since they have the money and influence with city hall -------.

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Tuesday, April 26th. The weather in upstate NY is overcast and 55 degrees F. Can't wait to be cruising!

Happy Day, all!

Hello everyone, we booked this cruise a couple weeks ago ...just locating this thread now! Sooo excited to go to Hawaii our last cruise was in Jan thru Panama and I'm noticing a few familiar people from that sailing. Alan ...FYI my baggage was NOT overweight flying home for some reason it should have been I'm sure, just must be a RI problem!! I also wrote a letter to DCL about all the problems on our cruise and did recieve a reply, I don't know if you remember Geoff and I constantly complaining about the "double standard" as we called it!

Hi and welcome. We were on the PC cruise as well. It was a fantastic cruise, but there were many niggly problems. We all hope here things are going to be VERY different on this cruise. Judging by the number of complaints letters sent I would think DCL just have to get it right for us.

Welcome! It will be great to cruise with you again. When you talk about the 'double standard' are you referring to the Dream?

I would love to be there as well. Any specific plans to meet up?

Would you want to meet on Saturday for a send off? Maybe at Pier 39? Since the ship is expected in early Friday morning don't think that will work.
