Lite snow here again today also..thank heavens it didn't stick. Sunny now(for a few minutes) but way to cold...mid 30's when it is supposed to be in the mid to high 50's by this time. La Nina really decided to make a late winter statement in the NW. I am trying to find shorts for the trip and none of the stores have them out and look at me like I am nuts, yet they are online everywhere...., they just figure they won't sell yet because of the cold so aren't putting them out!

Shorts and swimsuites have been in stores around here since at least mid February!..

Dennis and I know that there are ellipticals and weight machines. Are there treadmills and most importantly yoga mats to borrow?

Yes, the mats are to your left when you walk in and there are a bunch of treadmills.

Gosh this snow thing is so not my cup of tea. Ok done kidding about snow and such. I do hope DCL does listen to us and others about a good way to handle the pin distribution. I think it's time to flood the inbox again.

Oh yea, the treadmills face the ocean along with the other equipment. There is also another row of cardio equipment by the weights. They have spin cycles for use with classes only as well.

I have never used them but I really would be surprised if they did not have yoga mats for stretching.

I just booked the Lights, Camera, Magic ABD tour for April 27th. It sounds like a really nice tour. Has anyone done it before? The CM mentioned that they have made some changes to the route. You now have lunch at the Farmer's Market and the reception is held at the Studios. I think before, you had lunch at the Studios and went to Belair for a reception. The new route sounds a little better because it was my understanding that the trip from Belair back to the Grand Californian was about 2 hours. Now you are just going to be returning from the Studios.

Is anyone else going to do this tour too? They just opened booking up for the 27th today.

I have just replied to you post on the other thread, we will be joining you.

found this on the DCL website this morning - very cute

Hope you don't mind my asking, but I am concerning what, if any, restrictions we might expect from DCL. I understood from some CMs that there are people with DCL who are not happy with our decorating our doors, and any non-DCL purchased cruise stuff people bring on. (wonder why they have never come out with their own FEs?)

Do you know if Seaulater posted about her scrapbooking class on FB as well as DISboards too and if they asked what her material looked like?

Did you get a sense what their real concern was? Did they want to know what exactly your jewelry looked like or was it only about the cash exchange issue? Did the rep from DCL say what dept they were calling from?

I know they have expressed a real concern about any friendly wagers made when playing cards or watching sports.

If we can figure out what their concerns are, maybe we can avoid problems.

I don't mind at all. I got the feeling their main concern was the money. With me there was also an element that they thought that this was one very big group and I think they were worried that this would cause a disruption. Once I told him that the maximum group size is 6, this was no longer an issue. He asked me a few general questions about the jewellery making, but no specifics as to what we are making. So I did not get the sense that this was a concern at all.

I got the idea that this was pretty much the gist of the conversation that Seaulater had with them as well. I did not get the feeling that they went into a great deal of detail about the content of the scrapbooks.

It is strange that there have been some hints about people objecting the doors being decorated. I remember that on the Panama Canal cruise, an officer was showing around a suit of some description when I just came back to our stateroom. They stopped in front of our door for a minute and the officer mentioned how much the cast members love it if people are getting into the spirit and decorate their doors. As I was walking towards the door, the suit commented on how lovely this was. They had no idea that I belonged behind this door so it was most certainly not for my benefit.

WOW - my dry cleaner is charging more than the going rate, unless what is posted is a laundry cost and not a dry cleaning cost?:confused3
Nope, I went back and looked. WOW!!!!!! my evening dress sure better look fantastic. It is not however, the one I am taking with me....

I always have my dresses cleaned on the ship as it is so much cheaper than having it done at home. It also has the added advantage that I don't need to worry about the dresses creasing in the suitcase.

So, I got this response from DCL this morning (from Alexis Edwards at DCL.Shore.Excursions@disney.com)

We have received your request for the Palo Private Room for your sailing on April 29, 2012

We cannot confirm the Booking of the Private Room until March 29, 2012. The Disney Wonder does not release the Private Room to the Cruise Activities Team until 30 days prior to the sailing.

As of right now I have availability for brunch at 10:30am on May 10, 2012.

The Private Room can accommodate a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 14 Guests. If your guest count falls below 12 or goes above 14 then the Private Room will have to be forfeited.

If the Private Room is confirmed, any Guests that have their own independent Palo Reservation will have it removed. Each Stateroom is only allowed one Palo Brunch dining per sailing.

Once we can confirm the Palo Private Room for your party, you will receive a Confirmation Email. Please make sure to read and inform all Guests of the Policies and Procedures.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

We look forward to assisting you.

So, although it looks like we may get the request filled for May 10th, we have to wait until March 29th at least to get a confirmation.

Just so we don't have overlap, here is who is on my list:

My group of 4
LittleDisneyLover's group of 4
Dolphingirl47
BethE's group of 2
Chip&Dale&fun's group of 2

That sounds promising. Thanks for organizing this.

I wonder who sits on the computer in Celebration and monitors these threads? Everyone is entitiled to their opinion and in my opinion people can organize and do things....especially on a 15 night cruise. With the phone calls that were placed today by DCL does that mean they will frown on us playing poker on the ship?
What do you think?
Tom

They must have a huge department for this considering how many cruise meet threads there are on top of the main cruise board.

Can someone help this native L.A. boy who grew up by the coast? What is this thing called snow you are talking about?

You should have said earlier. I would have happily packaged some up for you. ;)

White frozen precipitation. I should ask you about the glowing orb in the sky. We rarely see it here!

I hear you on this orb. What we do have plenty around here though is liquid sunshine.

I don't get this weather ... We hit 27 Celcius today ... that's 80 Farenheit. This is Record Breaking for us ... Last year it was 10 Celcius (around 50 Farenheit). They are out of desk fans at Walmart! :rotfl:

I am jealous. Still, it has been positively spring-like here for the last couple of days. By that I mean we are in double figures.

I'm new to this group, but hoping someone can answer a question. I will be on this cruise with my DS 11. What is the earliest recommended departure time for a flight on the 14th. And what if I was flying from Orange County(SNA), it looks like there are shuttles available, can anyone confirm if that is true?

Welcome on board.

Please pm me...thanks.

I have sent you a PM. Sorry, between the time difference and me being on early shifts at the moment, I did not see it until this evening.

I guess my eye problem is getting the best of me. I am looking for the cabin number of mermaidloving. I spelled it wrong on an earlier post.

I know that they booked fairly recently so may not have a cabin assignment yet.

Dennis and I know that there are ellipticals and weight machines. Are there treadmills and most importantly yoga mats to borrow?

Yes, to both. I love the view from those treadmills. They also have recumbent bikes with a view.

I just checked this out and this sounds amazing. They price is fair, too. I now wish that we were at VGC before the cruise, too. We are staying with friends in Seal Beach and I don't think I would make it to GC in time.

Yes we are, we have a week there before the cruise. It's our first stay at GCV, they were building them when we were last at DL in 2008.

Ann

I am sure you will love VGC. I can't wait to go back.

I got my cruise documents today. I came back from a meeting at work and somebody had left them on my desk. :yay::yay::yay:

One of our special shirts is getting an outing tomorrow. Parcelforce is still holding my Hawaiian sun dresses hostage even though customs has now released them. We have a big rebrand launch at work tomorrow and will have a charity day to celebrate. The dress code for tomorrow is either national dress or wacky vacation outfits. So I headed into town after work to a fancy dress shop and got a grass skirt, a lei and a Hibiscus flower for my hair. I will team this up with our cruise shirt, flip flops and a pair of earrings from Hokey Donut.

My Mom and I will be joining you on the 27th....we are super excited!!!!!!

I had been hoping that I would have time to be able to make an FE but it is becoming more likely that I'm not going to get to it.

So, it is okay to use something like a backpack?

I would love to buy one but it is going to be a very long time before we cruise again, and next time there will be children with us. ^_^

I have seen people use plastic bags....no one cares. It's a Fish Extender. If you do use a back pack, make sure you tie it down tight with those plastic ties. We have extra if you need some just come to 5124 and ring on our door. Sometimes people have gotten their FE's taken as well as some door magnets. Make sure you always specialize your magnets with names or room number. Any that are generic tend to get taken too.
