My little guy has just started to get into trading pins - what's the approximate price for the LE Pins?

$13.95 each. If your little guy liked trading tell him not to trade these. They will have some good value down the road.

This doesn't make or break my vacation. I make my vacation for what it is. I do think though some CM'S do make it more or less pleasant. ;) Some of my experience.........If I need to ask a question I don't want to feel like I am bothering you. This happened with Christian. He made me feel very un-comfortable.

When I think of the thousands of people who cruise DCL and I have only done a few here and there that when I cruise DCL there was a CM who remembered me because he wanted to. He made me laugh, told great stories and was very pleasant to be around. :)

I took a mother daughter cruise and would stop by guest services everyday. From day one Brent the CM would ask if we needed anything, asked us about our day because he was interested and always had a smiling face. He even sent an arcade card to our cabin for my DD. ( He didn't have to and no we don't expect special treatment. ) It's those types of people that make that cruise just a little bit special.

Oh and don't get me started on officer Bob..........I will cry. That guy is awesome !!!

You hit the nail on the head Tina. I felt exactly yet same way. I just avoid him now as someone said, he won't make or break it but it does sour you a little for officers. On my September cruise I had a problem with a head server, the manager of the dining, Peter? He's either Irish or Scottish, went above and beyond to smooth over this lady's feelings. It was a misunderstanding caused by a busybody and I was afraid I'd gotten my food and beverage servers in trouble. Well as I said, the 3 phone calls, the follow-up and the treatment I received not to mention the course of action to be taken made me feel like finally someone was listening. Now that is what you call true Disney standards. Oh? And I got a Cpt Mickey out of it. Okay my son did but he's Disney'ed out so I got him by default and he sleeps on my bed along with the Queen of Hearts. Anyway, my point was after sailing for 14 years with Disney, I finally felt like I got some royal treatment. So I understand why some CM's are more memorable than others. I wish they were all memorable for great reasons. But then again, that's life right?

Here is what I posted on Facebook earlier on:

I have since heard that Seaulater had a very similar call as well.

Corinna

Hope you don't mind my asking, but I am concerning what, if any, restrictions we might expect from DCL. I understood from some CMs that there are people with DCL who are not happy with our decorating our doors, and any non-DCL purchased cruise stuff people bring on. (wonder why they have never come out with their own FEs?)

Do you know if Seaulater posted about her scrapbooking class on FB as well as DISboards too and if they asked what her material looked like?

Did you get a sense what their real concern was? Did they want to know what exactly your jewelry looked like or was it only about the cash exchange issue? Did the rep from DCL say what dept they were calling from?

I know they have expressed a real concern about any friendly wagers made when playing cards or watching sports.

If we can figure out what their concerns are, maybe we can avoid problems.

Thank you Alan! He only likes to trade away the "girly" ones now, but we'll probably add the pins to a shadow box once we get home!
Thanks for the info.

If they limit the LE 1000 to one a cabin initially then everything should be fine as there is just under 1000 cabins. then they could put the leftovers on sale on a first come first serve basis. They should do the same for the two LE 2500 as well. The question is will they be smart enough to do it? I seriously doubt it. Also, and trust me on this, the Oct cruise will have its own unique set. They may look similar but will be different in some way.

On the WB Panama in 2008 each cabine received a card to request pins, and other items, first, second and third choice. Then all the extras were placed on sale. It was well organized and worked. Many of you were there. I did get the few pins I wanted and were able to pick up some extras as gifts later.

I hope that is what happens this time, or as someone posted, my pin collecting, limited as they are, days are over....

And I have not see a Chip N Dale pin yet.....

Corinna if you are talking about last years PC cruise then no the numbers are not the same. The port pins were LE 500 and the one logo was LE 1000. It you are talking about the two from 08 then yes the numbers are the same. Also from what I have seen on pin pics, the last pin features Dasiy.

No Chip N Dale......:sad1::sad1::sad1:

There was someone that was interested in laundry prices. The price list is posted elsewhere. I don't think I can post the link since they are deemed a competitor by this site, but if you google "disney cruise laundry cost" it came up as the second item. At the bottom of the page, the price list is pictured. If you read the fine print, it says that pressing is 50% of the dry clean cost. For an evening dress that would be $4.00 for pressing only.

WOW - my dry cleaner is charging more than the going rate, unless what is posted is a laundry cost and not a dry cleaning cost?:confused3
Nope, I went back and looked. WOW!!!!!! my evening dress sure better look fantastic. It is not however, the one I am taking with me....

I have a Chip and Dale pin from the Alaska cruise last year. It has no date on it. It does say ALASKA. One chipmunk is sitting on the other like a totem pole. I really wanted a pin with the ship on it but this is all there was. Are you interested in it? Maybe we could work a trade?

Val - how upsetting.....in that I have been very careful with magnets only on the doors, and paid attention to the safety factors etc. But my Stateroom Host has always had fun with the door decorations. I enjoy walking down the hall and seeing all the doors, leaving notes etc., moving a magnet upside down (but never off the door) and other such diversions.

We did get a note from the Disney Police that we were not to hang anything on the balcony - I mean two sets of dive gear and wetsuits are not all that distracting are they? But in all seriousness, it was after a bad fire on another ship and I have heard that items left on the balcony, make that verandahs can be fire hazards....so now it is all in the bath tub....

I collect pins from cruises I have been on and then only special things. I did not do the DREAM Maiden so that does not matter. If you are interested In this do you want it before the cruise or on the ship. Maybe we will trade it for something from this cruise?

It was sweet of you to offer..... I too only have pins from the Cruises I take....and I was not on the Alaska --- but it is Chip N Dale, so I am tempted.

Not sure what else I have in my bag o pins...I can take a look....or onboard. although it is one more thing for you to pack. :rotfl:

Now I am being silly!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, they confirmed our reservation for the 9th and told me to just reconfirm when we board, so I'm guessing they are getting them set early.

So, I got this response from DCL this morning (from Alexis Edwards at DCL.Shore.Excursions@disney.com)

*****
We have received your request for the Palo Private Room for your sailing on April 29, 2012

We cannot confirm the Booking of the Private Room until March 29, 2012. The Disney Wonder does not release the Private Room to the Cruise Activities Team until 30 days prior to the sailing.

As of right now I have availability for brunch at 10:30am on May 10, 2012.

The Private Room can accommodate a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 14 Guests. If your guest count falls below 12 or goes above 14 then the Private Room will have to be forfeited.

If the Private Room is confirmed, any Guests that have their own independent Palo Reservation will have it removed. Each Stateroom is only allowed one Palo Brunch dining per sailing.

Once we can confirm the Palo Private Room for your party, you will receive a Confirmation Email. Please make sure to read and inform all Guests of the Policies and Procedures.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

We look forward to assisting you.

My group of 4
LittleDisneyLover's group of 4

Right now it is on my lanyard and will be coming with me. Let's plan to meet and you can decide then. Ok?

Interesting. I may have to e-mail my person back because they sent me...

The private room in Palo has been held in your name for May 9 at 10:30 for 14 adults for the brunch.

I would suggest you reconfirm this once on the ship. Have a wonderful cruise.

Bon Voyage.

Though, she was very nice and helpful!

I find the talk about the Captain's and CD's extremely interesting. I have never thought that who ever is staffed in that position when I am cruising makes or breaks my vacation. My DD even talks about them. I don't have favorites and quite honestly could never tell you which one was on which cruise. I really must be in the miniority but I find that we have such limited interaction with them that it doesn't matter to me.

I am in agreement, I enjoy what they plan but I have more interaction with the kids club cast memebers, who I love dearly!!!:wizard:

Exactly - the CD and captain are fine with me - it doesnt really matter to me - what matters is that the KIDS CLUB people are amazing - THAT is what makes my vacation a true vacation - Lizzy has SO MUCH FUN in the clubs - she has her favorites, and I have already FB with her bestest kids club person, and he will be on the cruise so she is ecstatic.

Oh ya - a great dining room team is nice also, but i dont make special requests - we get who we are assigned to - this time we are linked with my parents so we will have a great time regardless :)

Kids Club CM's definitely are the most important. You have to feel comfortable with the people taking care of your children.

We talk on the phone with our favorite CM from bar services about once a month. He's on the Dream. They wanted him on the MV of the Fantasy but he declined. He didn't want to go through all that again and I don't blame him. We will definitely miss him on the Wonder.
