And that, in my view, is exactly what's wrong with running a thread on facebook instead of confining DISboarder's business to the DIS. Here, we know who people are, we can look at their post count, look at their past posts, and make a judgement if they're a troll. On Facebook, if a person is not someone *I* friended, I don't know anything about them, without the disboard connection.
3Britts - I don't need a "package" either - did the same thing with the sorted one pager since i'm doing everyone.

Decided not to ship a box to my California hotel / port. Last time my cases only weighed in the 30 pound range, so if my FE gifts and books shove me over the weightlimit, I'll just pay the $25 for another bag. That way, they're in *my* and southwest's control

Agree, DIS group should be DIS group and we all agreed very early on that the planning would be done here.

Yes, we are staying at DoubleTree. I'm not done yet, because I was waiting for FE list and I think I'll be done this week. I can only work on gifts when kids are at school or sleeping (hoping they don't wake up), because my kids don't know about the trip and we will try to keep a secret as long as we can. Not sure how long we can do that, cause their teachers know they will miss 2 weeks of school and since it at the end of school year, they will need to do some tests before other kids.....we will see

I have two people on my FE that are not on the roll call??? Seaulater you are one I can't find to see who is in your cabin since you are in my FE. The other I don't think I have seen on here SoCaBaby, does anyone know her/him?

To anyone who has already printed out the FE lists. There is a change in our (yensidfan) cabin number.

Our cabin number is 5632.

We are in all groups, so it effects all of the groups.

Heather has changed it as of this afternoon, but those that printed the lists yesterday or earlier this morning might have the wrong cabin number for us.

I think that ages of my kids are on roll call..if not and someone else needs them...my boy is 7 and my girl is 6.

Edited to add: I found her, she has 2 kids listed on roll call, but on my fe list there is no kids......

First let me say " Public " I feel bad for Heather and the mess she has had to deal with. I now understand what my concern was with sharing a cabin with someone who is doing a seperate. FE. I made our FE and just looked at them and can't really do anything about it now..........so could I please ask a favor ?

Our FE DOESN"T have our dis names just our real first names. So If we are on your list you will see dis name and cabin number. Some of you may not know which pocket to put in. I just wan't to make sure that gifts are delivered to the right person.

Could I ask that if you see Poohbear926 on your list to put your gift into Lindsay's pocket and Castoff is Tina. Thank you sooo much !

She is definately on the cruise - her daughter is an adult (I think she is 20 or 21).

Thanks so much for your insight. Actually, when we have sailed together before, my ILs have come to our stateroom quite a bit to help out with our DS so that we can enjoy the late shows. So, we really wanted to try to find a solution that had us close to one another.

Unfortunately, since there are only a handful of 10As and they are ALL on either Deck 5 or 7 all the way forward, those are the only 2 locations that make sense for our ILs since we really want to keep our 10A for the split bath.

We were hoping Disney would assign our ILs close to us because they are both 78 and FIL does not get around well (although he refuses to use a wheelchair!)

All the 10As on Deck 5 get snatched up early because many of them are the Secret Porthole rooms, which is why we were not surprised that we were assigned to Deck 7 (#7003).

Anyway, after I emailed Disney, they offered us #7009 for our ILs which is the only 11A that is on Deck 7 forward. BUT, they wouldn't upgrade us for free - it would cost the $480 difference from the 11B we booked. I only debated for a moment and then emailed back to say we'd take it.

Unfortunately, by the time Disney emailed me again to say that since we are less than 60 days out we need to call rather than make a change via email, this cabin was gone!

I had a wonderful Disney CM on the phone though who tried all sorts of imaginable options with the inventory left. In the end, we settled on #5013 for my ILs as it is almost directly below us (2 levels) and the closest room to the forward elevator. This seemed like the least amount of walking for my ILs (just a few steps from their room to the elevator and then just a few steps from the elevator to our room). It is also easy for us to just skip up and down the stairs (and get some exercise to boot!)

AND, #5013 is a sideways 11B, so that is kind of nice for them since they always seem to be "bigger." Plus, if the seas get rocky, I think it is better to be swaying side to side in bed rather than forward to back!!

So, ultimately, while we'd rather have gotten #7009 for them, we are pleased with the accomodations that Disney tried to make for us and, heck, we save $480 in upgrade charges this way.

Sounds like you've already figured this all out but I thought it might be worth mentioning that from looking at the DCL website a block of 11A cabins on Deck 7 are currently available. Although 7009 is not one of them, these rooms are still very close by to 7003 in case you're still considering having your ILs close(r) by.

I agree with Linda and some of the others. Having some people make decisions and sign up for things on FB only made it harder for those trying to organize things. The Disboards should be the only planning and signing up place.
