Sorry Roy....every hostess of the Champagne Girls does it their own way. Their format was way way different from ours. Since I am hosting and I'm a co-original champagne girl, I get to make the rules. For Ladies Only at our event. The only men attending will be working by pouring the champagne for us or by being the sommelier.

On the first Champagne Girls event.....the men had a Lost Beer Boys event. You could do that!

I sent a PM, last week to the person organizing the champagne tasting, for payment. She had tried to reach me and I was dealing with my husband's health issue. Then I tried to figure out how to send the payment, but I need her email, I guess to send payment through Paypal. Does someone know, how to reach her? Thanks, Cindy

This is all so true. My Dh was a perfectly healthy (or so we thought) newly turned 32 year old who left for work one Tuesday morning and collapsed and died instantly at his desk. Turns out he had a genetic heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which we had no clue about! He had absolutely so symptoms. Silent killer is a perfect name for it.

I wish insurance companies handle getting echocardiograms better. Getting an EKG just isn't enough for a lot of heart diseases. An ECHO really needs to be done to look closely at the heart. Yet insurance companies are not going to pay for ECHOs with no family history. My kids each have a 50% chance of having the gene that caused Dh's HCM. So yearly ECHOs and EKGs are just the norm for them now. Should they start to show signs of the disease (which would start to manifest itself closer to puberty,) then they will have defibrilators inserted. Things just become so scary when the heart is involved!

My DH had a "kid" razz him about not continuing to participate until I said that he had been in significant surgery and was only 6 weeks out. (This was 3 years ago). He has the scar to prove it. "Kid" was appropriately huhmbled and then impressed that DH was participaitng at all.

So what time is the scar meet and greet????

Hi, I have a master's degree in clinical cardiology and retired from being a manager of a cardiac rehab department.
I also had my aortic valve replaced 14 years ago.
So, I can relate to both sides.
While we are sailing the ocean blue, I would be honored to talk to anyone who has any concerns about their or their loved one's cardiac health.

He doesn't have scars yet....but I think he is on his way to get some. He has problems with afib, not chronic and just recently he had an episode and just finished wearing heart monitor. He is a man, so he doesn't really go around and talk about his problems too much. I hope he might open up a little when on vacation.

I am hoping the same for my husband , but I am sure that with this group it will be very easy for him to open up and talk about this subject more freely, than he has here at home.

Hello everyone....3 weeks from right now DW and I will be jetting to LAX arriving at LAX 8:10 California time....we are staying at the LAX Marriott.....anyone staying there the night before with us? Gonna be a long day that Saturday but we will have 15 glorious nights to rest up!

Thank you, Deb! DH, is doing better, our focus has been to lower his blood pressure, and to clean his eating habits in order to not cause anymore harm to his heart. We have made drastic food changes and happy to report he has lost 11 pounds and his blood pressure numbers are looking sexy. He is returning back to work, tomorrow and I think that is the best for all of us. We have to tackle this Bull by the horns, even though fear and anxiety is all over us, we have to continue living and with that ensuring that we never forget that every moment can be our last encounter! So no stress or minimum if we can and create, create, create more beautiful memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stopped by Costco after rehab today and bought 3 shirts (along with $300 worth of other assorted "stuff"!) Then I went thru the closet. Dennis now has 13 hawaiian shirts to wear. That should do him fine for dinners. I have half a dozen and found a perfect dress for the luau!! We also picked up sunglasses for both of us at Costco. I think we are about set. I need to check out his suit and my dress for formal/semi-formal and then we are good.

I wonder if they still have some, will try to head out mid-week.
Are you doing the Luau with the DCL or on your own. What happen to the group for the Luau in the spreadsheet, I was also on that one, is that still taking place??????

John had two afibs and had to be zapped twice. He is on meds for it now and so far so good but a pacemaker may be down the road, I too Val listen to his breathing at night.

We changed out Maui excursion. I wanted to do the Hana Picnic from the beginning and got talked out of it and I thought about it again and I changed the canyon trip to the adult Hana Picnic. Is anyone doing this?

Fe extenders are all packed intheir little bags and put in another bag according to the deck. We are ending up taking an extra suitccase for all the extra goodies we are taking,

to you and the hub!

You're only old if you feel old. Of course now I am sounding like I am the baby of this bunch at 37.

I seldom have friends of my own age, I have always acted older. I rarely can relate to anyone young, lol. But I guess that is because I was raised in a farm on an Island with my grandparents, very traditional, very conservative. Had chickens, pigs, lizards and frogs for friends.

We so many of us with medical problems we will be taking a blood pressure machine wiht us.It also show if you have an irregular heartbeat. If anyone needs to use it please do not hesitate to come knocking on our door- cabin 6046. Hopefully the cruise will bring all our BP down
