Worldmark Anaheim -- first time for us. We haven't been to DL in several years -- I think the last time was when we ran into Scott and Lynn at CA Adventure -- they might remember when that was -- I think they were there for a marathon. I know it seems like forever to me, since Disneyland is my favorite park, but Harry loves WDW so we go there more ofter the last few years.

It is going to be great to see you again......no injuries this time!!!!!

Most likely postbound

I will probably save material for 3 ring because I don't use postbound anymore if I can help it. That is the one thing in all my scrapping that I can't work...those darn screws in those albums. 45+ year of arthritis in my hands and that is the main thing that defeats me :confused3

Hi Deb,

On our cruise last May, Disney seated us at a table with another couple who were also celebrating their anniversary, also on May 14th, don't know if it was a coincidence or planning on Disney's part.

My birthday is also the 14th -- yes, we got married on my birthday -- it was sentimental to us as it was also the day we met in person the first time, at the Port Canaveral cruise terminal as we were boarding for the first Panama Canal cruise on May 14, 2005.

BethK

You met in the terminal??? That is very cool! And sweet. :-)

We were seated with another anniversary couple on the May 2008 WB Panama Canal cruise, so I'm thinking you're right about Disney's planning! The third couple was not celebrating an anniversary but that "match" probably came about because their son and our daughter were the same age.

Hi Beth....My mom and I were also on the Panama Canal cruise in 2005 and I'm pretty sure we met you and Harry on Kelly B's BAV on Panama Canal day!!!!!! BTW...Leslie & Joe (DisneyPinDiva) anniversary is also May 14...

Judy...I too suffer from Arthritis...at a scrapbook show I attended I saw there was a kit to switch out the posts for straps....I think they were called Strap Load and they were made by Pioneer...I too now purchase the 3 ring 12X12 binders from either Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's...

Wow all this talk about people meeting their spouse/spouse to be/life partner on DCL. Let me add to it. My friend who is traveling with us meet her fiancé on the WB 2008 Panana crossing. I am so happy for her. She got a great guy. They are going to get married on the Dream next year.

That would SO work for me too!! :rotfl2:

I will fuel the fire a little. I met my awesome honey when we both worked for Walt Disney Theatrical Productions.

Our birthdays and anniversary are not near May, but my first Social Security check will be deposited into our checking account on May 9 :worship:so I will be celebrating that day!!! :dance3::woohoo:

Yeah, baby! We're celebrating DH's retirement!

And I thought we married quickly (met 1/27/73, married 9/1/73)! But, when you know, you know :thumbsup2. And never regretted it for a minute. (Not a Disney meeting, though, we met on a blind date set up by my dad.)

Alan...this is for you...:p LOL!!!! Seriously congrats!!!!!!

I wonder how my life would be different if Disney had accepted my application to work in Canada Pavillion at Epcot back in the early 90's....but back then...Disney had a weight restriction and the CM that interviewed me walked me out and told me that unfortunately I did not "fit" Disney's image...he wanted to let me down gently so that I did not get my hopes up....I still have my rejection letter...

Congrats to all of you that have met your Disney Prince or Princess

Pretty quick for sure. We had all the odds against us..I was only 17, Dennis left for VietNam 2 days after we married. But, we did know the first night we met that it was right and have not regretted it one moment. Coming up on 45 years this year and a whole bunch of fun along the way. :yay:

Wow that's alot. Has it be decided yet when and where we will meet to get lanyards ? When I was on the repo the girl in charge put the lanyards in manilla envelopes and put everything in order by cabin number. It seemed to make the process of passing out easier. :goodvibes

Good Question-----no, no final decisions have been made.....although I've organized lanyards a few times for cruises and I've always done it pretty similarly...so I imagine I'll do it that way this trip, too. I always bring the name badges in a box rubberbanded together by traveling party and in alphabetical order by DIS name. I then also bring a printout of the list sorted in sequential order by stateroom #.

The basics of how I've passed out lanyards in the past is:

1.) I've usually arrived at the port early and set up shop to distribute them while we wait to board. With the new system, though, I don't know that this will work that well. We're traveling with gold cruisers who got an 11am check-in time....but we're platinum, so I think that means we can board as soon as they open the ship----so there may be a short window of time that we can pass them out in the port, but not sure.

2.) If there is some kind of DIS meet aboard (like we've been on cruises that decide to do a meet in the Promenade Lounge at like 2:30 or 3pm so it's after lunch but before muster drill). If something like that gets set up, then we'll claim a table and hang out during that party and encourage folks to at least stop by and pick up their lanyards.

3.) We'll set up shot during the sail-away party, as well...up on Deck 10 overlooking the Goofy pool and it will be either me or Jason (if I decide I want to dance with the cruise staff!;)) passing them out up there.

4.) We usually carry all the lanyards that haven't been picked up around in a backpack on embarkation day.....so folks are always welcome if they see us out and about on the ship (we look very much like we do in our signature pics...and we'll have OUR lanyards on, obviously)---or even come by our room----and just say "Hey! Do you have our lanyards?!?!":rotfl2:

5.) And then everyone who has not picked them up by the end of second seating on embarkation day will get them delivered to their room late that night. Before we go to bed, Jason and I walk the halls checking out fish extenders and hanging remaining lanyards on people's fish...or putting them into their fish extenders. (NOTE: This is why it is absolutely critical that people make sure that there is at least ONE accurate stateroom # for every traveling party...because the room on my list is where the lanyards will get left.

Our goal is usually to try to be rid of all the lanyards before we go to bed that first night....so that we can start really enjoying the cruise!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I am sure I'll post more specific instructions (as if you needed more specifics than the above! :lmao::lmao:) as it gets closer.

You guys rock AND roll! (At this point, I just know you have it down to a science.)

Thanks, Linda, it will be great to see you again, too, and all our other friends from the first PC, 11-night Southern, and first TA cruises.

Harry and I are still trying to do an eastern caribbean so I can see some of what I missed after I broke my arm on the 11 night southern caribbean cruise. We had one booked a while back, but then a hurricane made it a western instead. We've got one booked on the Fantasy in October, but not sure if we'll keep that one or not.
