Secret Mickey

Some people have asked me on here and on Facebook what Secret Mickey is.

If you have ever participated in Secret Santa, then you have a good idea what this is about. You will be allocated a family or an individual and it is then your task to spoil them rotten during the cruise. The budget for this is $25 to $30. This does not have to be anything faqncy. During the cruise, you should drop a little something off for your Secret Mickey 2 or 3 times. This can be a note, some candy, a souvenir, a magnet, etc. On the last sea day there will be a reveal session and during this, you should give your Secret Mickey a slightly bigger present.

Just wanted to let you know that I am doing this seperate from my roomate Lindsay.

I booked them in clumps so got 3 separate e-mails but another friend showed me how to get an e-mail of the whole trip so I am all set.

Just a quick question.
Does anyone know how many Palo brunches will be served and on which days?

We are paid in full also and will attempt to stay up pass my bedtime to do some booking.

I think we will do excursions on our own, so it will just be Palo and maybe a spa.

Palo brunches are only done on sea days, so there will be 9 days of brunch! Yay!

You were right.
We got our Brunch and Dinner.
They showed a brunch for each sea day. I am just guessing that some will opt for 2 brunches.

Happy New Year fellow cruisers......

Please excuse my absence from here for the past few weeks. My step dad was sick in the hospital for a couple of weeks and then he passed away. After his funeral, my husband was in the hospital with chest pains. He's out and he's fine now. But I've been a little busy with real life.

I know everyone is PIF and booking many things. I don't have to PIF until Feb 12th and it's a good thing too, I can't even think about that right now with all that has been going on in my life.

But I need to let you know about scheduling the Champagne Girls!!!!!!!!!! So get your PINK on and here's the update:

If it was listed as noisy because of being over the tender equipment/thrusters/tender lobby, that will impact a small percentage of this trip, since we have more sea days than port days. And it is VERY convenient for easily getting back to your stateroom after excursions. If you are worried about being near the elevators, I've never really noticed that impacted noise levels for me.

I've spent most of my three day weekend in my jammies fighting a cough/cold again. Had such big plans on getting things accomplished around the house. Well, another 3 day weekend in two weeks and a four day one in February, so still some more options for 'projects'.

We won't be PIF until February, so I'm not booking anything. Most of the good stuff will be all taken. I was thinking about renting a jeep on each island and see where it takes us.

Does anyone have a good rental company for the islands that they want to recommend?

The other thing I'm interested in is the vow renewals. April 29th is my 22nd anniversary of mine and John's first date. We always celebrate it. Five months later on September 29th we were married. We celebrate both dates. I thought it might be nice to do a vow renewal on this trip.

I hope to secure our Super Shuttle to and from Paradise Pier. Anyone else staying there?

Does anyone what the difference is between the Super Shuttle and the Disneyland Express? The price seems about the same

Every time I have been assigned a GTY I call them every week or so to see if I have a cabin number yet....usually get one well before the 30 day mark

I called the number listed on DCL website. A supervisor is supposed to call me Wed. about the Maui excursion I wanted. She took the name of the excursion and the time I prefer and said she would get with the web folks, get it sorted and call me back. Guest services....

Some people got their room numbers yesterday...now I'm checking few times a day and still got GTY.

One thing I noticed before logging into DCL web site. Usually I need to put in email, password, res. # and birh date to access my reservation. Last few days it happened that page only asks me res. # and birth date????????

I have only been asked for reservation and birthdate, never e-mail, but I do log in to Disney when I got to site

I received my GTY room yesterday. My guess is that with so many people cancelling their cruises, they will start giving out room numbers. I booked on the second day and was able to only book GTY - maybe it's going in order of booking?

Bumping this up. I am interested in making a bracelet. First I would like to thank everyone who is organizing all these events. Makes this cruise so special. Do you have an idea yet on when you might do the bracelet workshop ? I don't want the other things I have planned to overlap.

At this moment I have no idea. Much depends on how many people sign up. At the moment it looks like there will be two adult bracelet workshops, one adult Fairies, Princesses and Pirates workshop and one kid's Fairies, Princesses and Pirates. I have found at the two previous cruises that 12:00 to 13:00 is a good time as is 15:00 to 16:00 or even 10:00 to 11:00. Before I put together the groups and timings, I will check if people have stuff booked on certain days (Palo Brunch, Palo Tea, Spa Treatments, etc.

On the last few cruises where we were GTY (Med cruise 2010, WBTA 2010, PC 2011), we got our assigment at 45 days out. On our first cruise, we did not get it until 35 days out. On our MR cruise in October, we had one family who did not find out until they checked in at the port, but they booked relatively late.

I am holding out hope that as long as I am a GTY, I have a chance for a magical upgrade!.. I am sure this is just a hope, but, it never hurts to keep faith!

Let's see if I can remember while not near a computer.....

Go to the page where you can see your calendar days, looks like a deck of cards laid out. Click on one and see the option to e-mail it. Click on e-mail and see the option to send yourself that day or the whole trip. The e-mail comes with Stitch in his Hawaiian hat at the top of the page!!

I intend to save the page and white-out the lines that say I have nothing planned. Then I can print it out and write in CG, et.al. for use on the trip and for my scrapbook.




(I used the DCL CONTACT US and asked for instructions too but Monica answered first. I wrote back to DCL on the message they sent me suggesting that they make it more user-friendly. I told them that I do not like to find that the website has changed every time I am booking a new cruise, but if they are going to change it, they could make it more obvious.)
