April 26th, 2015 Wonder out of Miami

Shall we get the formalities out of the way. As I said it is DH (45 then) and I (47 then). It is our 2nd Disney Cruise, 1st time on the Wonder. We love Disney (duh, I know) and will be celebrating our 15 year anniversary. Have 2 'kids' DD25 and DS26. We own DVC and will be spending the prior week at the parks. Looking forward to meeting everyone and LOVE pirate night and Castaway Cay Serenity Beach!

I (27 then) will be cruising with DH (60 - yes I know - huge age gap) and our girl/boy twins who will turn 5 onboard! My husband has cruised once before, but this will be all of our first Disney Cruise. We usually vacation to WDW but thought a cruise would be nice for a change up! I am a huge Disney addict (of course!) and my kids are definitely following in my footsteps (Yay!). We are not telling the twins ahead of time and will surprise them just before the flight. I am open to all advice from the veteran cruisers!

Going on the April 26, 2015 cruise on the Wonder it will be our second we went on the Wonder November 2013 to Mexico it was great. My sister, Daughter 12, friend, and my other friends family are all comming and very excited.

This will be my husband and my first DCL cruise. We enjoyed the "Big Red Boat" about 20 years ago with our three young children and have also gone on an Alaskan cruise (NCL) when they were teenagers. We are looking forward to cruising with our son and his family. I would appreciate any "tips and tricks" to help us enjoy this experience to its' fullest! Does anyone have advice on staying one night in Ft. Lauderdale v. Miami pre-cruise? I have seen a wide range of shuttle and hotel options....looking for recommendations. Thanks.

We are staying in Miami as we will have a car. Check mousesavers they list several hotels that offer shuttles to/from airport/hotel/port. Welcome to our group.

Its just going to be my son and he will be turning 5 on April 24th 2 days before we leave..and I will be turning 36 on the same day..yes we have the same birthday..I would love to meet you all..and I lucked up and got room 7120 i guess this is one with the secret verandah...lol i had no clue..cant wait to meet u all!

Hi! I booked today. I don't know if you remember me but probably a couple years ago now I was on another website with a bunch of women and running a group on there. You came and posted with us for a little bit. We were a bunch of Disney nuts. Anyway, I am now super excited that I am sailing this week since you and your hubby will be on board.

It will be me, my husband and my 13 yr old son. We'll be celebrating his 13th birthday.

We sailed the Dream in 2011 and I'm excited to be trying one of the "classic" ships in 2015.

My husband and 2 kids and I will be on the cruise! Kids will be DD (will have just turned 5 2 weeks prior) and DS (7, turning 8 in July 2015). This will be the second Disney cruise for all of us - the first was on the Wonder - same itinerary - in April 2013 (clearly we enjoyed it).

Just found out that one of my DD's friends from school just made reservations for the same trip which is so exciting! Now I just need to find a friend for my son

We were in a balcony on the 7th deck last time - this time we are deck 6 - hoping we like it as much (and considering if we should upgrade at all).

Hey everyone! We were originally going to be on the May 10th cruise but the deluxe family oceanview stateroom with the verandahs were all sold out so we had to find a different 5 night with that room. I'm really excited since we put the deposit for this cruise down today. It will be my dad, sister, my 3 year old, and I(26) going on this cruise. We can't wait! See you all then!

Just booked very last minute for this cruise with my family (DH, DD 13, DS 11 and DD 5) and my parents on April 26. This is our second cruise. We were on the Dream out of Port Canaveral last time, so I'm excited to see Miami! Hoping that the Wonder doesn't feel "small" after cruising on Dream first! If anyone has tips for good things to do in port when we get back, please share! Still haven't decided on an excursion for Cozumel. Part of me just wants to shop and eat good Mexican food!!

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS).

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, since no one seems to be coming forward to organize a FE for this cruise here on the DIS, please feel free to organize the FE right in this thread. There is certainly plenty of time to plan a FE for this cruise. All it takes is for someone to maintain a list of/for those participating which can easily be done in this thread. Many Cruise Meet threads have been doing it this way for years now here on the DIS.
