I woke up at 3am and remember that we needed to take our passports out of the safe so I did it right then and there so I wouldn't forget!

I sent myself a note - Need to make photocopies of the passports. We just had 2 of them renewed and I almost forgot.

All together we have 4 suitcases and 1 carryon/overnight bag. Does it sound like too much? Ahhh I feel like we are forgetting something.

Too much, are you kidding. . . . we are a family of 5 and we have almost 2 garment bags, 5 suitcases and at least 5 carry-on bags. . . each kid (3) has their own carry-on, I have 1 (maybe 2) and my DH has 1. Hope this makes you feel a little better. . . .

I still feel like I am forgetting something, and my DH says . . . yes, .. . the sink!!!

It is just a LOT of stuff!!! I am continuning to try to condense, but then I am close to the weight limits with the bags. So in my opinion it is easier and better to go to a 2nd bag for a person with another 50 lb limit that is lighter than the limit, so that we can have a place for purchases.

Back to the backing. . . .

I finally started my list (thanks for all the tips that keep coming!!!) and was able to get some shopping done for my DS last weekend!! Still need shoes for him for formal night...not easy to find as he has a wide foot and nothing fits :confused3 Usually I am a "last minute" packer but I'm so excited for this trip that I'm going to start pulling everything out this weekend!! The excitement is too difficult to contain!!!!!

AmyandMichael....Congratulations on your new blessing, your precious daughter that you are waiting for!!! My son is from Korea so I understand your journey and the love in your heart

I found some formal shoes for my DS at payless. they had wide width too. Nice and cheap since I figure he probably won't be wearing them again!

Well, I did tackle one thing....went through the kids' clothes and figured out what they had (Nick had some) and what they didn't (KT needed everything.)

An trip to Justice got KT covered for dinners. Ok, she'll be the one in the capri leggins with a long top and black flip flops. If anyone has a problem with it, then .....take it up with the captain! HA! Found out her formal night dress still fits from a prior cruise and she DEFINITELY wants to wear it. Last time she wore it she got sick and ended up in the bathroom puking (too empty of a stomach and a big glass of milk did her in) So she'd like to wear it some time when she ISN'T puking. HA! Dang, it's velour, but she totally doesn't care that it'll be April. So I'm going with it.

Oh yeah, and black flip flops. HA!

I just cannot fit all of the "expected stuff" in and still stay excited about the cruise. So, in order to maintain excitement, I have to cut corners. In the meantime, we're packing in the kids' school work, working on the blog, and trying to get everything squared away for school plans for next year, packing in more school work, and then packing in MORE school work. I didn't realize how far behind six months of theater rehearsals put us.

We finally got our cruise documents!!!!:cool1:

I got a new bathing suit for me this weekend too Kay!!
I have went through all the kids clothes and still need to pick up a few things. This weekend we are going to start laying everything out to see what is stil missing! Hopefully not too much more shopping to do.

Does anyone know where I could find a goofy pillow case or anything goofy to get autographed by all the characters?? My son loves goofy and it hard to find.

Is anyone else going to drop stuff off to be autographed ??

Kristi

Thanks for the suggestion!! We'll definitely try Payless this weekend! We got our docs last week and my DS saw it was from DCL and opened the envelope before I got home and then had me go through everything to show him the actual tickets!!! Guess, it's not just me who is excited :cheer2:

Member Gallery Update! Steve (stevemtl) sent in a photo of their family. Come meet them on the web page.

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

You don't have to be a child to eat like one!

DCL has some wonderful food and some very decadent desserts, but sometimes you just want something simple and classic.

Don't hesitate to ask your server for a Mickey Bar for dessert (off the kid's menu). They will be happy to deliver it to you. It comes in a bowl, covered with sprinkles! We find them to be a much better quality than the ones in the parks.

I've also heard you can order Mickey Bars from room service - now that is decadent

UTOP! PDFG and all our friends who need it.

Is everyone coming in early?

We will be there from the friday before the cruise so just over a week. We won't be staying on property though:headache: This will be the first time off property for us. But it is free!!!!!! Our neighbors had an extra lockout unit for there timeshare that week so they said we could have it. All we have to do is watch there kids for one night so they can go out to dinner. :thumbsup2

Ok this does make me feel a lot better. I tired so hard to only have three (and they are HUGE) Suitcases, but we would have no room to bring anything home. So the last suitcase is half clothes and half a big thing of sand toys that we will leave there so we have room for everything we buy!!!

WOW!!! Single digits. How Great and exciting. :thumbsup2 On property is great, but FREE is great also.
Dancing the single digit dance :dancer:
We'll see you at the meet. :cheer2:

I found some magnetic paper ($18 after tax for 5 sheets) at Office Depot. I'm going to try my hand at a sign or two - nobody laugh, because I am not an artist. I'm better at math, which ought to tell you something after the way I butchered some people's ages. DOH. Nonetheless, I found the link above for magnetic door signs in the main forum, if anyone is interested.

Yesterday was the beginning of spring break for local public schools. We told our DS8 that he would be spending the week at our DS5's preschool which he wasn't very happy about AT ALL. :sad1: What we didn't tell him was that we had signed him up for Spring Space Camp. He's been begging to go to Space Camp for a long time. Long story short, he had a great day at camp yesterday and couldn't wait to go back. They are going on a field trip to the Saturn V facility today and are going to see the 3d IMAX movie. Thursday, they will meet an astronaut.

How great it must be to be a kid. Space Camp for a week, then a Disney Cruise. Why did I have to grow old!? LOL. :rotfl2:

For those of you leaving early for Orlando, I would like to suggest a couple of activities if you have time, energy, or money:

-- 1) Blue Man Group - Excellent show, very funny. My DS (7 at the time) was belly-laughing so hard. :rotfl2: I took my DS (4 at the time) on another occasion because I wasn't sure if it would be too loud for her. It wasn't and she loved the show too. It is located next to the Hard Rock Cafe, so you don't need Universal Studio tickets to get in. It is a little cheaper than ...

-- 2) Cirque Du Soleil, La Nouba - Another great show. Awesome, top notch (perhaps Olympics quality) talent!! If you've never been to a Cirque Du Soleil, then here's your chance. It is a little more pricey than BMG.

-- 3) Fantasmic, at Disney Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM). One of our favorite park closing shows; Park tickets ARE required. It is located near the Tower of Terror, which in my opinion is the best Disney ride of all the parks. Very scary. Even my DW gets scared, and she loves thrill rides.

-- 4) WDW Polynesian Luau: If you don't have a reservation (which you probably don't), go early and sign up for stand-by seats. It's a nice show and they give you lots to eat. You don't need park tickets to get in; nor do you have to pay for parking - just tell the parking attendant that you are there for dinner. Park right in front of the Polynesian hotel. Bypass the long line, walk right up to the front to get on the stand-by list and wait. Once all reservations are seated, they will begin seating those on stand-by (taking seats of ressie's that cancelled). We've gone 3x and never got turned away. After the show, go ride the WDW monorail while its not busy, BUT ask the attendant if you can ride in the front. Then ride the full circle up front. You may have to wait a few minutes for a monorail with an empty cabin. It is a rare and nice ride.

Thank you WDWLVR for your response and for everyone welcoming The Warren Family to the group!!! I have sent our photo and details to WDWLVR for the website. Thanks for refering me back to the main board for my general questions. I had not even seen that part because I was so excited to meet the other families on our cruise.

Our family is Joe (dad), Rhonda (mommy -- that's me) and Baby Red Bird DD=McKenna). McKenna renamed herself "Baby Red Bird" about a month ago. She corrects anyone calling her McKenna by restating the sentence and inserting Baby Red Bird for her name. She also talks BRB in 3rd person. Baby Red Bird is 3. I am hoping she will enjoy the Ocean"ears" Club and that my hubby and I can at least have a couple of romantic meals together. I can't wait to spend some time with her at CC! We are from Zebulon, NC (near Raleigh) and we are driving to Florida Friday before the cruise. I have not made my hotel reservations at the port yet. We signed up late for the cruise and I missed getting a seat at Palo. I LOVE nice food and wine, so I intend to have my family on the ship as quickly as possible so we can get any Palo reservations saved for the internet challenged (or late planners). We are all so excited!!!! Packing has not begun, but I am at the stage where I have everything strewn about so I can begin packing including the huge list that keeps growing of things I have read about on the DIS site that I need to bring. I even downloaded the Disney Fonts for the schedule my x-military husband will be keeping us to. On our last cruise (before Baby Red Bird was boorn) we both got the Norwalk Virus and had to spend 3 days quarentined to our room (too bad it was a 5 day cruise!). Joe is now a Physician's Assistant so I am hoping we can avoid any sickness this time around! Although he has explained that these sicknesses are viral anr not bacterial, I can't help buying anti-baterial stuff....just in case.

This cruise has turned me into a shopping fiend! I see it has had the same effect on other DISers as well. I found matching mother/daughter Mickey dresses on eBay. They were accidentally shipped to the address I had 5 years ago, and now I am hunting them down. I am going to TRY and focus on work today!!!

Thanks again to everyone welcoming us to the group! Looking forward to seeing you aboard Magic!!!!

Rhonda - we have a number of experienced cruisers on this thread so feel free to ask your questions here as well. Of course you can always ask them on the main board and see if you get the same answers. :lmao:
