I'll print these out on business card stock that will easily fit into your KTTW (Key to the World) holder. The blank space in the middle will be for you to put your name in (real, screen, any combination of). What do you all think? I'll have them and some pens available at the 3pm DIS meet on Saturday.

That would be very nice if you did that Mary. I planned to print out a copy of the list, but the card would be helpful if people wanted to use them. I would probably just put my screen name on the card. I'll have to put "zerog's DW" on Steph's card LOL, since she doesn't read or respond to this forum. In her defense, she is busy with school.

- Welcome to our family. As Mary said, our roll call seems to be growing daily the closer we get to our sail date. Go back a few pages and you'll see what I mean. Also, Mary has been posting some great tips. Anyhow, I hope the others on the cruisecritic board can join us too. :thumbsup2

We usually put both, and yes for family members it would be Steph/DW of ZeroG. Having your real name helps in real time conversations. I'd rather people call me Mary than WDWLVR but that's just me. That's why everyone can decide for themselves what to put on the card.

:welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome:

Wow - every time I log on we're joined by new cruisers. Awesome!

Actually having so many people join has got me thinking that we do need a way to identify ourselves. So I came up with a little something. I'll print these out on business card stock that will easily fit into your KTTW (Key to the World) holder. The blank space in the middle will be for you to put your name in (real, screen, any combination of). What do you all think? I'll have them and some pens available at the 3pm DIS meet on Saturday.

Mary, I think this is an excellent idea. . .just a quick question, . . . we have to purchase our own KTTW holders, correct, they don't give them out on the ship with the keys do they??? We only have one (mine!) so I am thinking I will have to get some more. . .

We are wondering if anyone might know the new rules for luggage when flying we think we read where they are now charging for luggage any other cruises know the restrictions

Looks good Mary! :thumbsup2

I would say that it would be a good idea to check with your airline! I heard that United was starting a 1 piece of baggage, 50 lb limit per person in May.
Speaking form past experience too much luggage is NOT a good idea. You don't have too much room to store it in your cabin! Remember also that we have 3 FULL days at sea, which means not too much clothes needed on the "at sea" days! Hopefully it's nice weather and we'll all be in bathing suits all day! We are packing much lighter than we did last year! Our DD had enough clothes for 2 weeks! Our DS had more than enough as well!

Thanks to Randy (zerog) for posting about this thread on another board.

My partner Chuck is a vegetarian so any tips on finding great vegetarian food onboard, in port or at CC would be greatly appreciated.

I'm glad Randy pointed the way to this board!:cool1:

gohweddings.....Hi! I'm a vegetarian too and can attest that there is always a veggie option offered on the menu and they are very happy to whip something up too!!! :thumbsup2

a lot of major airlines are doing that now, American isn't yet though (that's who we booked through). And most airlines are doing it for anything booked after March, and it does not effect ticket holders that booked months ago!

Good morning everyone!

Yes unless you have cruised DCL before you would have to purchase some. If you are doing WDW before the cruise they are available there as well or they have them at the gift shop on board.

Mike I agree with the others that the best thing is to check with your individual airline. They should have the luggage rules up on their website.

Looks good Mary! :thumbsup2

Welcome Beth - always nice to put a real nice to a screen name!

Definately packing light is the way to go but did you know you can store your luggage under the bed? The ends lift up easily and there is lots of room to store under there.

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

Sure Castaway Cay is all about fun in the sun, but what if you want to get out of the sun for a little while?

Here's the tip. Head on over to Castaway Jo's (also known as the Grouper Pavilion). It is a covered game room full of family fun. Shuffleboard, foosball, billiards and ping-pong are all available. There is also a giant checkerboard.

This area at the far end of the family beach is often overlooked so is usually uncrowded. A nice way to get the family out of the sun for a little while.

If you get the travel channel the Disney Cruise line show will be starting in just a few minutes (10 AM Eastern, 9 AM Central). It is a repeat but a great way to get excited about the cruise.

I guess we had some monster suitcases because ours didn't fit under the bed!:confused3
We shoved 2 suitcases in the closet and 2 were at the foot of the bed up against the wall! Beth

we never get this on our canadian travel channel. i mentioned this on a post about it a couple days ago and a nice guy pm'd me and asked if i would like him to tape it and send it to me. i didn't want him to be out of pocket for the costs (tape and postage, not cheap) however when i offered to send him the money for doing this he asked that i just 'pay it forward'.
disers really are great!:grouphug:

Hey tinkerone......where in Canada are you from?? We're in Montreal! :) Beth

kingston, have you gotten as much snow as us?

We have snow coming out of WAZOO!!! We still have at least 3-4 feet of snow in our backyard and just as much in our front yard! We're wondering if the snow will be gone by the time we get back from the cruise!!:confused3 What about you guys??

snow is all but a memory. 8 ft gone in a day and a half. don't know how but i'm not questioning it either. the people who are flooding out are though.

we remember reading instead of taking original passports on excursions it is alright to copy the first passport page to take with you. is this an ok practice

debi

Thanks so much for the info on vegetarian meals - last year at WDW on vacation he actually added some seafood to his diet.

It got tough to get enough protein in the parks and seems everyplace offered him the same pasta with cream sauce and veggies, pizza, fries or salad.

I'm sure he'll find plenty!

Thanks again

Mary-

If you get a chance can you please shoot me an email at Mark@QOHweddings.com I'd like to pick your brain on a few things.

TIA

Mark

Thanks to Randy (zerog) for posting about this thread on another board.

I was beginning to think that we were the only ones on this ship...

We're really excited about our first Disney Cruise- were DVC members and are flying in on Friday and staying one night at AKL to check out "our new property"

My partner Chuck is a vegetarian so any tips on finding great vegetarian food onboard, in port or at CC would be greatly appreciated.
