Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!! Only 4 more months until our cruise!!

Good morning everyone! Merry Christmas!

Don't forget about the WDW Christmas Parade on this morning. It is showing at 10 am here in Chicagoland on ABC. Not sure what time they are showing it in other areas of the country. It isn't live but still fun to see one of our favorite places. Plus it wouldn't be Christmas without seeing the wooden soldiers march!

A few hours early but that just gives us more time to celebrate...

Happy Birthday Karen (OM)!

Good morning Cruisers

We sail in 17 weeks!

Wow these new servers are great! Thanks to Pete and the Webmasters!

Morning cruisers after the 1st we will be looking into paying off the cruise so we can make our reservations as soon as they open up. hope everyone has a safe New Years

I have sad :guilty: but happy news :)

We had to cancel this cruise BUT it's because I'm pregnant! So its sad that we will not get to meet yall or see the amazing Magic but we're very excited that our family is growing.

And don't worry we've already planned the baby's first trip to WDW. It will be in December 2008 when he/she is about 4 months old. And the baby's first Magic cruise will be at a year old in Sept of 2009.

I hope yall have a great cruise and hug mickey for me!
wendy

Congrats Wendy! Sorry you won't be joining us but that sounds like a great reason.

A UTOP with Wendy.
PDFG and all our friends who need it!

i want to ad my congrats! how wonderful for you.
mary, how did you like the segway tour? i have thought about doing one but am undecided.
i also seem to have done something because i am not getting any messages from the dis through on my email:confused3 . i missed the 17 week call and i really look forward to getting the countdown. i work saturdays and it is the one thing that gets me through.:sad2: very sad not to see it this time.
i'll just have to try and figure out what is wrong and just book mark this thread.
oh well!
hope everyone has a great new years eve.

We loved the Segway tour! We've done both the one at Epcot and then this one at Ft. Wilderness. They are both great but I think I enjoyed the Ft. Wilderness one better. Maybe it was because I was more comfortable but I also think that part of it is all the scenery we got to see on the Ft. Wilderness one.

I think the e-mail subscriptions got a little messed up with the server change. I know the webmasters are working on it. Subscribing to the thread is always a good idea and really easy.

congratulations Wendy and Adam we are sorry you will not be joining us. You will now be able to enjoy WDW through through the eyes of your child our oldest DS was 7 months old on his first trip. we hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Years

Mary and Karen we have always wondered do you know how DCL keeps all the fruit and vegetables so fresh looking for the entire cruise we heard DCL does not take on supplies in foreign ports or if any other cruisers know please reply

Mike, I'm not 100% sure from what I've seen on TV with other ships (and I'm assuming DCL is the same way) the holding areas are set up with different temperatures. They bring on new food before each sailing and then set up the food in the different areas. Some are cool, some are cold, and some are set up for dry storage. Plus since MOST cruises are only 7 days so it doesn't give things much time to spoil. I've heard they usually take on enough food to last them for 14 days in case of hurricanes etc.

Hope this helps.

Yup, I have heard all of this too. I also heard that they will take in food in foreign ports, but it's food that has been flown there from the US. So they'll load up a US plane, fly it to a port city, and transfer the food to the ship. So while they are taking on food, it's not foreign food (although it probably really is, b/c where in the US do raspberries grow this time of year??) But at least they have control over WHERE it came from originally. :)

Ok, here goes try number 2 - I was almost ready to click 'submit' when I accidently closed the browser. Doh!

Happy belated holidays to everyone. Congrats to Wendy!

FYI - A shuttle launch is scheduled for Thursday, April 24th. A lot can change from now until then, but this is a little something to keep in the back of your mind.

BRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.. Its got to be in the mid-40s here in Florida. We actually had to turn off the A/C last nite. Tomorrow, the temperature is expected to drop into the mid-20s, with a slight chance of snow flurries. What is this 'snow' that people keep talking about? Snow --- hmmmm --- snow --- I give up! Meanwhile, I can't even imagine mid-20s. My nose could start running.
