I think their biggest mistake was offering the entire block of cruises for sale all at once. They should have staggered the release of the different cruises offered. Would have saved the deluge and mess they had today.

That said, anyone who was left out today still has a shot, once the jump on the bandwagon hype wears off the me too's will cancel for whatever is the next 'hot' thing.

I think so too! I bet you 1/4 of the ones posting over there had no plans of doing a West Coast cruise but caught up in the hype of it! I have to admit, when IC called me, I was tempted. And I am not even interested in Mexico. :rotfl: I am not sure how long DCL will hold a room for you, but the repo deposit is $500/pp. That's $2,000 for a family of 4! It will be hard for some people to come up with that in a matter of days, I am sure!

since I never been on a Disney Cruise before, I need to ask you experts. Would this be considered to casual for semi-formal night for my DD who will be 8? I bought this for her today and bought it a bigger size that will still fit her next year. Right now, it's just a little long on her, but it's a dress...doesn't matter! I will take it on the cruise regardless, if she can't wear it for semi-formal, it will still be nice for dinner regardless! You can take the little jacket off!

Hi,

It's so cute. DD6 wore cotton dresses and a real fancy dress for formal night that I picked up at Marshall's. She thought the dress was itchy and right after dinner she changed.

I also think the Kohl's dress will go for formal. Remember you want her to be comfortable. I always remind myself that it is their vacation too!

Plus you know you'll be collecting things for the next year and putting them in your cruise room.:lmao:

Only for semi? That would be fine even on formal night, I would think. But maybe a more..feminine opinion might differ from mine.

Depends on how far you wish to carry the semi and formal nights. For a guy example, I'm polos/dockers for the regular nights, a dinner jacket for semi and add in a good tie for formal and that's about it. I've already done the tux thing and it was fun, but don't think it's something I really feel the need to do again.

I haven't even thought about formal night yet! I know my DH won't wear a tux, I am going to have a hard time getting my DS to wear a tie, that's for sure! My DH would wear a suit, but again, I don't think DS will do even that. I'll be lucky if I can talk him into a dinner jacket and a tie! I may have to threaten to throw him overboard if he doesn't do as I say! :rotfl:

HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT MY CRUISE ROOM????? *closing the blinds and turning off all the lights in the house*

Hi,

My mom was supposed to go on a 3 night RCCL out of San Pedro on February 9th with a bunch of women she used to work with.

I made her a bag the other day with items from the tips that I learned from the disboards (shoe holder, laynard, sanitizer, room freshener, etc). She loved the bag, but with my dad just coming out of the hospital she's not going to go:sad2:

There's always next year.

This is sad when I look forward to laughing at night reading everybody's responses.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You've mentioned it several times before - I'm sure I read it in this thread.

DCL did learn at least that from the first west coast run, that's exactly why there's a $500 deposit required upfront, too many cancellations. They're trying to make people stop and think for a second or two if that's what they really want to commit to.

My husband just took my daughter to the Verizon store because the music on her new cell phone that she got for Christmas is not working. Hopefully the Chocolate phone is not a piece of junk.

They tried to give him a refurbished phone, but he wouldn't have it. He had to come home and get the receipt (I ordered it from Verizon wireless - you'd think they would have a record of it at the corporate store).

Maybe I should have waited 2 years (?) for the iphone.

Even vets do that. We tend to start taking over the dining room table about oh... 5 months out with whatever's going with. Along with a portable rack that stands in the laundry room with the hangered clothes that are going with.

oh, they all had to pay their deposits when they booked? I know you have to when you book online, but I thought that they will hold a room for you for a few days when you call in! Either way, the prices are absolutely ridiculous! So happy I didn't fall for all the hype! Besides, not like I can abandon a thread *I* started, right? ;)

You did start this thread and you should be proud of it!! What a thread it has become.

I have shelves in my daughter's closet for my cruise collection. She's type A like me so she likes to organize everything.

my DS wants a cell phone SO badly! He's 11, and in the 5th grade. Pretty much everyone in his class has one. I told him when he starts middle school next year, he'll get one! He's got his eye on the chocolate phone...of course...he wants the most expensive one and won't settle for a basic one!

What's even more sad, my DD is in 2nd grade and 1/2 the class has a cellphone. So far, she hasn't asked for one though. *knock on wood* Good thing too since she won't be getting one until middle school either!

I saw nautical Mickey wallpaper borders somewhere the other day! I almost wanted to buy them! Have to see if I can find matching bedding online and maybe I will! I'll sleep in there for the next 15 months!

Yeah.. I think it might be a few days grace period, not too sure there.
I'd consider it upfront even with a day or two myself, since those cruises are not happening more than a year from now.
Far different payment structure from this cruise we're on here.

I am ON A DIET!!! No food talk! :scared: And I hope you weren't laughing like that guy as you struggled to get your jeans on! He's got his mouth wide open. Or is that panting because he's out of breath? :rotfl:

Nope. That's me crying, not laughing! :lmao:

Hi again,

Is the chat room going to be open tomorrow night?

have you ever been in the chat? I went there once when I first signed up here and they were talking about anything BUT the Disney cruises.

Hi,

DD13 was told she could get a phone for 6th grade graduation in June. In May of that year she rec'd a math honor's award from the district so I surprised her after the ceremony.

I wanted her to have a cell phone in jr. high. She was also on a tournament soccer team that practiced twice a week and I couldn't always stay at practice.

My dd11 could use one as she has 2 -3 soccer practices a week, but she'll get the phone next year at graduation or for math honors if she earns it.
