Our son just turned 8. But he gets along with kids of all ages.

Are you planning on sending him to the kids "camp"?? Ryan (DS) 81/2 can't wait to check it out again! He remembers from last year that there were a lot of things he didn't get to do!!
Beth

BTW- glad to hear that it's gonna be SUNNY SUNNY SUNNY:cool2: :thumbsup2 and NO MORE SNOW!!:worship:
Believe it or not...we still have a patch of snow in our back yard! The area is shaded by our deck.
Our neighbours were shoveling their front yards in their shorts over the weekend!!! Trying to get rid of the last bit of white stuff!!

I'm really hoping that the packing STARTS tonight!!! I've been doing laundry, haven't taken anything out of anywhere yet!!! YIKES!! We leave to Florida Friday am!!! We better get started!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Beth

Alan hasn't even STARTED packing yet!! :rolleyes1 I told him, if he's out in the middle of the ocean and has NO UNDERWEAR, then don't come crying to me!! :headache:

Saturday, 26 April

UV Index: 10 (Very High)
Relative Humidity: 62%
Precipitation Probability: 10%
Snow Probability: 0%
Cloud Coverage: 52%
Moon Phase: Waning Gibbous
Wind Speed: 9Mph (14Km, 7Kts)
Wind Direction: 80° (E)

I've seen it snow on Castaway Cay!

We pack together. Or should I say we pick things out together and then I pack it up and then Mark checks and those closes everything. I like to have things like underwear spread out over a couple of cases. That way if one bag goes missing we won't be without the essentials. :) Plus since it wear a lot of matching t-shirts (I know we are geeks) it makes it easy to make sure we have everything.

Speaking of t-shirts. We'll be in lime green ones which should make us easy to spot in inthe terminal and at the DIS meet. They have Castaway Cay on the back so if you see us stop by and say hi.

Whoo Hoo - a UTOP with Mark and packing!

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

I'm hoping the kids spend A LOT of time in the club and lab. My DD5 is very sweet and makes friends easily. DS8 - kids either love him or just don't get him, considering the ADHD. Then again, he is sharp as a tack so he knows what he is doing (he began reading just before his 3rd birthday).

Our son will be 9 in November and our daughter will be 11, May 17th!
We were on the 7 night Disney Western last May with my in-laws, as well as sister and brother in-law and also nephew.
We were on the cruise (all 9 of us) to celebrate my in-laws 40th Wedding Anniversary!! It was truly MAGICAL!!!
We decided that since both Steven (DH) and myself were turning 40 this year, we would take the kids on another Disney cruise to celebrate once agan!
Can't wait to see that SHIP!! It's really beautiful!
Get ready for the time of your life! :cool1:

Hi Beth, that sounds like it was fun cruise.

I will be celebrating my 45th birthday on the cruise on Sunday. I sure do hope my son makes a friend at the lab. He's very social and has a great personality so I'm sure he will. Can't wait

Ha, my son has ADHD as well but makes friends very easily and is very likeable and social. Like your son, my son is VERY VERY smart...knew all his letters independantly by the age of 2 and at 3 knew all the President's of the United States from beginning to end!!! I think it goes along with the ADHD.

Should I bring it beforehand or buy it in FLA or on the ship? Which do you think is less expensive? And will the ship have a descent variety.

My vote is to buy it before you get on the ship. Perhaps Walmart would be your cheapest option. At least you'll have the peace of mind knowing that you've got it and won't have to worry about getting it later.

There is a Walmart on the way from MCO to the cruise terminal, in Cocoa. Someone posted a map on the main boards. It would only be 2 minutes out of your way.

I have about 6 things laid out on the guest room bed. ack. but i'm not too worried. we have extensive packing lists and it's just a matter of gathering it.

Oh crap. My kids will not fit in with your son or with zerog's son. We homeschool, but they are just average kids. They are smart enough, but won't be spewing out rocket science kinda information. Ah well, I love them. And KT and Nick ARE both valedictorians in their respective grades, so I guess that's something. :lmao:

Yikes, I'd have to say that is one thing I could live without seeing before I die

Oh not me. I've seen it. And I could stand to see it again. And again. And again. It's beautiful!!

I agree with zerog. Pick it up before you get on the ship. That way you get the kind you really want and you get it for MUCH cheaper. Anything you need to buy on the ship will have a couple of $$'s in front of it.

I think our kids are going to hang close to us this trip. KT is officially a "teen" and is underwhelmed at the teen program on board. I am going to talk to the CM's about the possibility of her attending the Lab functions (she is 13, so only a bit older than the normal age), but at least that gives her an option if she's bored or we want to get off the ship and she doesn't.

Nick...not too sure what he'll do. We've cruised many times before and once you've made Flubber 7 times, it kinda loses it's novelty. So he may hang with us more than normal anyway.

It'll be interesting to say the least.

And I KNOW they'll eat dinner with us every night. Something about not wanting chicken nuggets and mac-n-cheese with the kids club when they can have steak and salmon with us. :)

Not to mention the added benefit of seeing Smoothie Dad and I. I mean why go to the kids club when Smoothie Dad will buy you a smoothie and you can have a dish full of berries.

Yup.

I think they just want to whip all our butts in LRC and walk away with enough money to book the next cruise!

Hmmm, maybe I should pack extra dimes.

Or better yet, maybe they should pack their OWN dimes! ;)

Kind of hard to tell but it is snowing in this picture :lmao:
