April 22, 2013 5-night out of Miami

One thing to think about on the meet-n-greet. With it being the first sea day, the area around the Goofy pool is probably going to get crazy. I know tables and chairs get gone pretty quickly. Any suggestions?

Is that in Miami or further north? We still aren't sure where to stay along the route. I don't want to be too far from the port. My plan is to be at the port and checking in, no later than 11. Last time we got picked as the family of the day by being there early. I would love to have that chance again.

Yes, it is in Miami :) I was hoping to find a park n cruise deal but the ones that offer shuttle either are dumps or the wanna charge and the charge for all of us is more than parking at the port so I'll stick with the better hotels.

I hate having to pay $100 just to park, but it is cheaper than having our car broken into while we are gone. We are still not sure where we are going to stay. I have been looking at options, but I haven't found a deal I just couldn't pass up yet.

Good Morning everyone,

We are getting closer to our trip. I am still researching excursions at Grand Cayman. I can't wait to board in Miami and start heading that direction. We have never been to any of the Western Caribbean ports, so everything will be new.

We are slowly getting our supplies together and starting to pack. Three weeks from today we will be in Cozumel. :thumbsup2

Have a great day, and if you want to do some extra chatting, join up with the facebook crowd on for our group.

If everyone is ok with it, I would love to take a photo of our group at our meet-n-greet. Would that be ok? If we do it, I will be happy to share it with anyone who wants it. On our last cruise, we took one and it is one of my favorite pages in my photo book.

We could get a CM to take it for us.

Maybe we could have most of us there by 9:30-9:40 or so?

Also, in case anyone wants to use them, I will bring blank name tags and some sharpies. I am terrible with names, but if I can see it written and link it with a face, I do better.

Is anyone using the Ship Mate-Disney app? I have downloaded it for my tablet and it is pretty cool. It gives you a complete deck plan of the ship, plus some info about the intinerary. You are supposed to have access to the deck plans even in airplane mode once on the ship.

If anyone wants to try it, it is free, at least for android anyway.

Found Ship Mate for $1.99 for the iPad - thanks for the idea. The free one by a different developer didn't list Disney.

You should post this idea on Fb so everyone can see it, it sounds fun :)!pixiedust:

I think it is funny that some of these apps will be free for android and pay for Itunes, or free on Itunes but pay on android. :confused3

Thanks Randy! I didn't know this existed. Another fun thing to build the anticipation!

I am so ready for this trip. It has been crazy around here lately.

I am just praying my parents and my mother-in-law's health will remain stable for the trip. Having aging parents with major health issues always gives us concerns when we plan on being out of town. However, I have learned that only God knows what will happen, and whether I am home or away, I can't change that. It just means I get to put my brothers in charge of my parents while I am gone.

Here is the info on the Facebook page.

Got our cruise packet today, so excited! Wondered if we wouldn't get it as we were late bookers.

I started a private FB page for this cruise if anyone wants to come over and "be friends" helps me put names to faces.

So far, my husband is my only friends.... boo!

Click over and ask to join and I'll let you in!

Yes...you'd think they would be the same on both platforms! Love the app! Was showing it to my girls and Catherine, 8, said she wanted to go on a Princess cruise because their ships were pink. That's their color on the location map on the iPad version. Had to explain the ships weren't actually pink! LOL

Thanks for the App info. Downloading it now. I think the picture idea is great. Are we all suppose to were mardi gra beads? I think I remember reading something about that somewhere?

I had suggested the Mardi Gras beads as a way to recognize each other, but I don't think a decision by the group was ever made. I thought it might be a good way to recognize other group members around the ship on the first day.

My family will have them on and the day we get onboard, we will have lime green shirts on with a Disney Wonder graphic on the front. If you see us, introduce yourselves. It is hard to believe it is almost here.

We will have a meet-n-greet by the Goofy pool on the first sea day (our first full day on the ship) at around 9am. Look for the sign. If we can try to get most everyone there by 9:30-9:40, we will do the group picture. I may have to leave around 10 to go to a DVC presentation. That is when they held it on the Magic and we wanted to attend this one as well.

I can't wait to see everyone.:cool1::cool1::banana::banana:
