April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

What I think is funny is how many people are shocked that we don't have tans living here in FL. :lmao: The reality is that we have lives, just like people that live in other parts of the country. So, when we have a spare moment, we're doing laundry, yard work, going to the grocery store, etc. :laundy: The truth is that I have a pool in my backyard, and I'm barely in it. Now that the girls are getting older, I'm sure that we'll be in the pool a little more often, but I don't get out there much.

But, when people come on vacation to Florida, they have xxx number of days to just relax in the sun. The only time that I have that is when I go on vacation too. :rotfl:

Does anyone have any experience with the Ocean Quest place--the technical name I'm sure (the one where 10-14 year olds go). My daughter and youngest son fall into that category but I have never heard much about it.

our last cruise we were just down the hall from this, i was sure to take Paige there on the first day and that is all she wrote. she really had no interest. it looked pretty cool, but not real popular. i don't know if it's the location (deck 2) or what. This is more an open-type place, kids can stop in and hang out, play whatever tech thing interests them. i'm not sure if there are organized activities here, but it is chaperoned by CMs.

My kids are outside playing with friends right now. Our yard is still snow covered. They are in the driveway playing basketball. They're wearing shorts and flip flops. They must be working on their tans.

Another tan story -- it has been a long winter this year in Utah, but we are finally seeing some nice weather. I have come home several times in the past week and my boys are out on the tramp with their shirts off just laying there. When I ask what they are doing, they said that they didn't want to be the white beached whales.:lmao:

They also have been wearing shorts to school for weeks, trying to get rid of the "winter white" as they like to call it.

PS-So is everyone getting ready now that we are under the 1 month mark? I still have to find our summer clothes(they are somewhere in the house,we certainly haven't needed them lately)and start deciding what to bring and what I need to buy. I think I better hurry up time is running out.

PSS- I have another question for you guys? Do you work or are some of you SAHMs? I am a SAHM I have been for a around 5 years, some days I wish I worked but most days I'm just fine at home, how about everyone else?

hate me, sorry, my daughter tells me I pack WAY TOO early. But HEY, I live in NH, goingo n a cruise in April, why should I pack my summer stuff away when I can put it in the suitcase? And throughout the months, I buy things - new toothbrushes, first aid gear (pepto, antiacid, etc), etc. So Cheyrl, I am packed and ready to go. All for DD that MIGHT want new clothes for the cruise.

Never been a SAHM. Always worked SINCE age 11 - Newspaper carrier, onward. Currently and will until I retire in 20+ years, work for the State of New Hampshire.

I actually booked it on 1/31, so I could get a SPH room again!!!
What is a SPH room? What is special about pre-bookingon board? Might plan on doing so. Have to have a DISNEY fix each year. Thinking about going down over Thanksgiving week.

Sorry about being quiet, but don't have family to talk about, or young kids (currently) to compare to yours. Get a kick and brings back memories on how my daughter was. Now she is a teenager, and it .... she's a teenager:rolleyes1 nothing else to say..:rotfl2:

Keep it coming, love to read what you are talking about.

SPH stands for secret porthole room. There are 6 rooms, deck 5 forward, that are cat 10 rooms, with obstructed portholes. So, you get daylight, for the cost of an inside room. But, since there are only 6, they go quickly.

And, as for booking onboard, if you book you get 10% off and a $200 onboard credit for the cruise that you booked for 7-night cruises. I'm not sure of the discounts or OBCs for 3 or 4 night cruises. But, that deal goes away as soon as the cruise is over.

Don't feel like you can't contribute!! Everyone's welcome to chat and get to know everyone. Besides, I'll be doing more Get to Know Your Fellow Cruiser again on Monday!!!

Paula -- don't forget -- i can talk teen daughters with you :teeth:

Thanks Molli! It doesn't look quite as exciting as the lab. Our daughter is so excited to go and meet new friends -- I told her to post on the kids site which I think she has done.

BTW - I looked at our reservation and all of the late diners are listed on our reservation as well -- we are linked!!!

So......Amanda, how did the hair turn out?

Ok, I LOVE the Mater sign!!! Cute, cute, cute!!!

As for the DISmeets signs, the DISmeet onboard in the Promanade Lounge would be at 3pm. The lifeboat drill is at 4pm and the party on deck is immediately following the drill.

And, Capt Marvin's people - what time should be meet for breakfast? We need to get off the ship as soon as possible, so I'm wondering what time breakfast is even open. Ok, nevermind, I'm going to see if I can find out from previous Navigators our options for breakfast.

oh you're right, i posted the unedited sign -- yes i changed that wording once, guess i never saved it. now it reads

"3 p.m. -- Promenade Lounge"

I've looked several times and don't see it. Where do I look?

I'm dying to know, too!

Since I'm a first-timer, I have no input on this one. I'll do whatever I'm told. ;)

The boys had mother/child night at preschool tonight. Mommies wore hats and boys wore ties (girls wore tiaras). They were so cute all dressed up in their little outfits that we bought for formal night. :)

ok new cruisers -- can i tease you with pictures or would you rather wait??

Ok, so it looks like the first tender is at 7:30am. And, Topsiders opens for breakfast that morning at 6:30am. So, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm thinking that if we need to be at Capt Marvins by 8:00am, then we need to probably be on one of the first tenders. So, should be at breakfast by 6:45/7:00am.
