April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

Hello Everybody, This is my first post, so we will see how it goes.

First, my family (DW, DD-13, DS-7 and me) are all so excited for this cruise. We tried the 3 day cruise to see if we would like it. It was so great:yay: that we signed up for the 7 day Western Cruise. My kids have April vacation, and my DD-13 is looking forward to doing teen things and meeting kids. (She is a little on the shy side though)

As for activities, DD and DW are Parasailing at CC, My wife has spa ressies already, Palo res for the 24th and the ECO-Snorkel tour at Cozumel.(We wondered if the Xcaret?sp was too much for my DS who turns 7 just before the cruise)

Does anyone have any recomendations for Grand Cayman?

I am driving everybody nuts here (not my family everbody else who is not going) with my constant talking about the trip.
If your kids like being in the water, I would HIGHLY recommend the Stingray City excursions. We don't book through Disney, since they don't allow kids younger than 5. We book directly through Capt Marvins and they are awesome!! We went several years ago, when my oldest DD was 2 and we had SO much fun!!!

here's a link to the kids thread my DD started

at GC we are just planning on taking a taxi to the turtle farm (isn't there a butterfly farm too?) and then hittting the beach. do we know how the stingray swims are now since the hurricanes?

and does anyone know if we are docking or tendering at Cozumel?

Bill -- we have Palo for tues night too - 7 or 7:30 p.m.

Bill and OhMom, we too have Palo ressies for 7:30 on 4-24!

We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary too!

Have not booked excursions yet, we want to do the ruins in Cozumel and maybe just the island tour in Grand Cayman. For Key West it looks like we'll just do stuff on your own. On CC we just want to hit the adult beach and enjoy!!

Good to hear from you guys :goodvibes
Bugdozer, I saw you posted on another thread and it's nice to see you've made it over here.
My daughters are going, they're the same age as your son and her friend, 14 & 13. There is a link above for the kids to get together and start talking. Unfortunately, my daughters didn't make it onto the thread today (you know those "last minute" Sunday Reports!)

I'm glad to hear of your son's excellent progress:yay:
God Bless you and your family:angel:

2nd Post - Hope I will get better at this.

Cyndibear and OHMOM checked out our ressies for Palo and they are at 8:30, Definately should be some overlap.

DVC2THEMAX,
I got you PM and tried to PM you back, but I do not have enough posts to beable to do that yet.

Bugdozer,

To the other NH ite, we are going down Friday afternoon/night (4:55 pm) as well on Southwest out of Manchester. We live in Bedford. I am glad to hear you son is doing well.

Welcome to the group!!! I'm so glad to hear that your DS is cancer free and going on this cruise!!!

Good luck to anyone making Palo, spa, excursion ressies in a couple of hours!!!:cool1:

Hi,
New to this so what time can I make my ressies?

Thanks,
Bug
Sorry, missed this message last night. You could make them as of 3am EST this morning. So, any time now.

:cool1: :banana: :cool1:

Alarm went off at 2:50am this morning, and I actually got up, logged in & made our Palo reservation! I was there right at 3am, but no Palo brunch. But I did book dinner. :cloud9: At this point, I'm just happy to get anything. Then I booked DH for parasailing & banana boat. Went to bed, and woke up this morning thinking "I finally did it!" NOW it finally all seems real. :yay:

Welcome to all the new people on this thread! Glad to have you join us. Jump right in and chat away. ;)

Hi - We will also be on this cruise:thumbsup2 Me, DH, DS (14) and DD(12). We are flying down Wednesday night on Southwest. Not quite sure what we are going to do in Orlando yet. I was able to book our brunch and dinner last week. I am really pleased with the times we got. I'm thinking of doing the dolphin swin with my daughter in Cozumel (booking on our own). My son is currently getting certified to Scuba Dive (my husband already is). They will be diving in Cozumel and Grand Cayman. My daughter and I will be on our own::rolleyes1 Driving to school this morning it was 9 degrees. I just need to get through this winter :rotfl:

hey thanks you guys for sending you kids to Paige's thread. she's been checking it like a true DISer -- every two hours. that's my girl! :rotfl2:

:welcome: koby!! it's darn cold here today too -- no school for wind chills

amanda -- you really set your alarm for 2:50 a.m.!:eek: :yay: you are a trooper and i'm impressed!! glad you got a ressie. I'm still hopeful to change our brunch upon boarding so i don't think all is lost. I think also you can waitlist for cancellations. which parasailing time did you book? we are 2:30 p.m. boat

corryn -- did you get into your account yet for Palo and excursions?? i didn't quite catch the whole story but if that was b/c of your TA i'd have been royally ticked too.

bug -- did you get it figured out? log onto your reservation on the official Disney cruise site to pre-book

i got the DISer cruise spreadsheet started. waiting for a couple replies with some missing info. Here is who I have included: alikat99, B&B Mom, Corryn, curlybop, Cyndibear, Lhagerty, ohMom. If you want to be included PM me the following information:

DIS name ; home state;Family members (please include 'real names); Friday night accomodations; Transportation to port; Deck/Room; Dining; and email (to email you the spreadhsheet, i'll keep this private if you prefer just let me know)

i just double-checked our Palo dinner is at 7 p.m; not 7:30. sorry

Yes, I did. I want that chocolate souffle. :rotfl:

I booked the 2:30 pm boat for DH's parasailing. His banana boat ride is 11:00 am. Hopefully the weather will be fine for all the excursions that day. He just laughed last night when I told him I was getting up early. When I came back to bed I heard him mumble "Did you get it?" I said "Yes" and then he was snoring again. :laughing:

I'll probably ask to be on the waitlist for brunch, just in case. Never hurts to try. :thumbsup2

Corryn,

Did you get all your troubles resolved with your agency? If you updated on the main forum, I missed it somewhere.......

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you guys think it's too early to start packing? :rotfl2: I am kidding! I found some luggage tags, and locks, along with a few other things I had purchased, so I got one of the large suitcases out of the closet & stuck those items in there. DH walked in & thought I had lost my mind. :lmao: He really thought I was packing already. Well, I have a spreadsheet which I'm adding notes to every so often, so I guess that counts for something.
I put in my vacation request yesterday. :banana: :cool1: :banana: This week has been so much fun, realizing just how close the trip is. We're giving DD an early birthday party a week before we leave, since we'll be onboard during her actual birthday. Guess what she wants for her theme? Princess! Same as last year. If she only knew that a week or so later, she's going to see a "real" Princess.......princess:
Curlybop,
I see nothing wrong with beginning to pack now. It just shows you are very organized. I began packing last week. We hold clothes out (our FL clothes) for trips down to Disney. You never know when there may be a deal on flights and you can't resist the urge to see the Mouse. (Yes I have a Disney problem!!) However, by no means am I done packing. This will be a two month event.
All excursions etc. are booked. I need something else to do for the trip.
With this cold weather we are having it is making me that much more excited about the cruise.
I must be a REAL DISNEY freak as I could board the ship tomorrow!:wizard:
I am seriously DONE packing, from shorts to pirate outfits to formal outfits including all the other stuff - bandaids, tylenol, etc.:woohoo:
But there MUST be more stuff to work on for the next 2 1/2 months:sad2:
Just have to work on those door signs - THAT"S IT - I still have them to work on. pirate: so I still have something to do, thank goodness.
