April 2021 W.I.S.H. Thread - Spring into Spring!

Woohoo for warm sunny weather, it should get into the 70's for the first time today which is so amazing! And sunset is currently at 8pm!

Woohoo Ester isn't mad at me this morning. The past two days I was trying to cut back their wet food to one can per day, and she was quite upset by it. Last evening she didn't come to cuddle and wouldn't even look at me, but would sit just out of reach with her back to me, never a good sign. I gave in and put down a second can and this morning I am forgiven.

I have many WOOHOO's today. In no particular order:

WOOHOO!!! I'm fully immune on Friday!!!

WOOHOO!!! I'm on spring break!!!

WOOHOO!!! In 100 days I will be boarding a plane for my first vacation in over 2 years to Margaritaville in Florida in 2 ocean front rooms (1 for DD and 1 for DH and I) to celebrate my 28th wedding anniversary!!!

WOOHOO!!! It's a warm sunny day!!!

WOOHOO!!! I'm getting my hair done on Saturday for the first time in 14 months!!!

WOOHOO!!! I'm getting a lot accomplished this week!!!
Wonderful! Can’t wait for you to tell us all about Margaritaville! Vacations are going to be extra special this year!

Woohoo-
Got out for a walk before it rained

Have a fridge/freezer full of things to make healthy meals for the next 10 days

When I was swapping out clothes I found a couple things that I bought at the end of last season-I had forgotten all about them-I do this every year. :upsidedow

Today I’m thankful for my mom. It’s her birthday. We got to spend time together watching my son’s first home baseball game yesterday. Then we took her out to dinner. It was our first time doing that in over a year! I’m so thankful that both my parents made it through the pandemic without getting Covid prior to the vaccine. Now they both are vaccinated. I’m also thankful that my children are now able to get vaccinated. They are sixteen and can only get Pfizer. My son got his on Monday and daughter gets her first shot today.

I am thankful for my health.

I am thankful that I am finally back down to my lowest weight in 2021 (post Easter cheat days...next time I can only cheat for one day. Multiple days of eating bad takes too long to get rid of now that I am over 40.)

I am thankful that I am going on vacation in 99 days...double digits!

I am thankful that it is spring, and the signs of spring are all around me.

I am thankful that my DD and I are so close...she's my best friend.

I am thankful for my job and my DH's job.

I am thankful that DD is almost done with school and is excited to launch her new small business.

I am thankful that we will be hosting a graduation party and business launch party for DD in August, and we will see our favorite family members for the first time in 20 months. I will probably burst into tears when I hug my nephew.

I am thankful for all the things we have to look forward to in the coming weeks and months.

I am thankful that DH's fever finally broke. He has only had a fever and nothing else. It got up to 102 Monday night but after that has stayed around 100 until late last night when it went back to normal. He did get a COVID test yesterday and we are just waiting on the test results. We don't think it is COVID as he had no other signs of it. No cough or tight chest, no congestion no sore throat and never lost taste or smell. I did make him stay in the bedroom all week and away from the rest of as much as possible. We have a small house and only one bathroom so we can't fully quarantine from each other. I have slept on the couch all week and I am just so tired and my back aches. The couch is 15 years old and we need a new one badly. The springs are shot so there is no support any more. I have not worked out this week nor have I cooked anything. We have just been eating left overs. I have been working late too so just not a lot of time. I am ready for normal. As long as the test is negative DH will have his 2nd dose on Saturday so it may be a few more days before full normal. The bright side if he continues all day will no fever I will sleep in bed tonight. This will be a big help.

I am over the moon thankful for the warm sunny weather we are having. It is forecast to be in the mid to high 70's thru early next week. So, so delightful. The first mowing hasn't taken place yet, maybe tonight? I did run an errand at 7pm last night, just because the sun was still up. I feel this strong urge to go somewhere and do something each evening, but we are seeing covid numbers go back up and a couple counties got rolled back the beginning of the week, so there's no way I'm going to do anything risky... but I am definitely getting spring fever.

Last evening I was looking for something in my clothes closet and noticed the kittie tube that I had shoved in there at some point, so I got it out. Pippa absolutely loves it and runs thru, back and forth, which reminded me of how thankful I am for playful kittens, such a joy.

Today our district started modified quarantine. That means anyone who is considered a close contact of someone outside their household and doesn’t have any symptoms can still come to school. I have one student who was a close contact on the bus, but came to school today. This student is great at wearing a mask, nose and mouth covered at all times except when eating. But I had to be very strict during g breakfast and lunch. It’s just hard. But I’m so thankful I’m vaccinated, my husband and parents are vaccinated and my kids both got their first dose. Really looking forward to summer! Each change just brings a new level of teacher exhaustion!

We start on April 19th. I feel bad for anyone not vaccinated.

I've got three hours of back-to-back meetings this morning, but all I really want to do is go outside. Ugh!

We've started knowledge transfer for the work in the new area I'm moving to, but I'm not doing transfer with anyone who will be picking up my old work... should I be concerned about this?

My plan to not go to the grocery store until all the hamburger is eaten lasted zero days. But today I'll be having the last of the hamburger for lunch so I guess that worked out OK?

I want to do a road trip over the weekend so badly, but my car is on its last legs, so I'm wavering. My Sister had some minor surgery yesterday and will be going home today, so if I had a trusty car I'd drive out to her place... oh if I had only gotten myself together for car shopping back at Christmas.

Maybe I'll just stay home and get rid of some stuff.

Cold and windy today, so talking myself into going for a walk-maybe after lunch.
My grandson is in quarantine for two weeks because of close contact with someone that got Covid (at school). He hates missing school and baseball. They have next week covered but we’ll help out the last couple days. Praying he doesn’t get sick.
So a quiet weekend-yard work for sure.

FREE FOR ALL FRIDAY!!!
Yesterday was a busy morning and I didn’t get a chance to post. My daughter had a slight reaction to her vaccine (chills throughout the night and couldn’t sleep), so she stayed home from school. But they now use an online system for absences and this was my first time using it. Then after school I found out our neighbors daughter (one of DD’s best friends) tested positive. Luckily I’ve been the mean mom not letting them get together in person unless outside. So they haven’t had contact this week. Luckily she’s feeling ok. Sore throat, fever & headache. They have her isolated in their basement with a kitchenette and full bathroom. Sadly, her father is in Florida because his dad, who has cancer, isn’t doing well and his mom needed help. But it sounds like he’s going to stay there now until she’s done with quarantine. Hoping no one else in the family gets it...

On the plus side, I did my morning workout and still pushed myself to go for a walk in the yucky weather after school. And my son won all of his baseball games this week!

SOCIAL SATURDAY
When I am missing WDW or Disneyland, I like to watch ride videos on YouTube.
I chose Slinky Dog Dash because that was a ew ride the last time we were there. We had Fastpasses for after dinner. We rushed to get there and just made it. We had a group of 8 plus a baby. So we used rider swap. But due to it being a rollercoaster, my husband passed on the ride. So that allowed me to go on a second time using his fastpass. I LOVED it! It also gave us a peek into Star Wars Land, which wasn’t open yet. I also really enjoyed all the theming. So much fun!

I haven’t had a chance to ride this yet, so loved the video! My grandson assures me I am brave enough to ride this!
