I booked last week with National using the KLM code for a minivan and got $313.89 for 6 days out of MCO 4/3-4/9. Continuing to look and see if rates go down. I've heard rates are lowest 5-10 days before you leave.

I just booked with Dollar for a Lock Lo and Go rate that I thought was gosh darn good.
Pick up at MCO 4/12 at 8pm and drop off at MCO on 4/22 at 8pm for a day day rental of $220.47 all inclusive. They guarantee a car larger than the lowest sized car.

I am happy. I used Promo Code: OCVB (Orange County Visitors Bureau).

Alamo round trip bookings are dropping, I can tell. I had 2 one ways- 4/10 to 4/13 and 4/20 to 4/22 totalling $287 booked since last May that was my best deal so far. I'd have to pay for Port parking 4/13 to 4/20.

Today I got a round trip quote 4/10 to 4/22 on Alamo using BJ's code rate, Alamo's Insiders, and the $30 coupon from above- $271!

It's getting there.

btw My Insider's discount does not work with 66777D.

I currently have a Minivan reserved for 8 days with Budget for $240. Last night I was able to. Get a minivan for $330 with Alamo. My question to those who have used both: Is it worth $90 more to use Alamo? I have only ever rented with Alamo or Hertz and I'm worried after some of the Budget stories I've read on here.

We only ever rented from Budget and we've never had a problem at all. Which codes did you use to get it so cheap?!

I really like Alamo too but that's too much of a difference. Keep looking Alamo just dropped for me again!

Yep! Code CPE Cape Canaveral. I think they share a building and lot with Enterprise.

I actually saw lower rates today on Alamo and National. My National rate has been extremely high, but today I got it for less than the KLM rate. I bounce between this thread and May since I pick up April 30 and drop off May 18. Folks might want to take another look.

When you reserve online with a coupon code do you need it when you pick up the car and pay for it? Last year we paid in advance through hotwire, this year since I dont need the car from the airport we reserved a rental through Alamo with a code and got a great rate. My email shows a total of $202 with my insiders and coupon discount, when I click modify the reservation and review details it only shows the insiders discount and the est total of $234.

Problem is when I try to cancel the 1st reservation on the website it says I can not modify or cancel without calling, in fact both reservations say this. I tried to call, but I get an offer to book a "free cruise" with no option to get to an operator.

I am an Alamo insider. Anyone have any insight about what is going on? Will there be any problem when we go to get the car as long as I have my printed reservation?

Pam - on the back of your Insiders card, there is a 1 800 number for members from M-F only. There is also a 1 877 number to call for reservations. they might be able to help out.

Yes, this is happening to most. I can't even log in to look at my reserations. I had several that I wanted to cancel, so I just logged in and sent them an email under contact them and listed the reservation numbers and asked them to cancel them for me. I told them I could not do it and there must be a glitch in their system. They wrote back about 3 days later and said they took care of it, but told me in the future I could do this easily myself by logging in and cancelling.....I guess they didn't read that part of my email to them telling them I tried several times and it won't let me. My concern is how many people out there are going to go the extra time by calling or emailing them to cancel a reservation when they can't do it themselves. So how many no shows are they going to have because of this problem. It's been a month since I encountered the same problem and still they haven't fixed it yet. I am not a fan of their online Upgraded system.

I was able to cancel my Alamo reservations on-line yesterday through a link in my e-mail confirmations.

Southwest sent me an offer for Budget (it read "by e-mail only", so may not work for others?). It's the first legitimate code that has worked for me over Easter: BCD U072756 and Coupon MUAZ023
Mid-size $236/week including taxes
Full-size $252/week including taxes

Went on line today to Alamo to see if I could bring down a previous reservation. I was able to book using the Costco code (I am a member) , along with a $30 coupon code of AD2338FDF for a booking MCO pick up on 4/12 and drop off at MCO on 4/22 for a TOTAL of $164. That's 10days and during a prime week.

I thought that was pretty gosh darn good.

Hope this helps someone else. I go in almost daily to try and bring down reservations. It used to be much easier.
