As for the code not working on the dates after easter, from what I have been reading on other boards you will be lucky to get a rental at all. Some posters on flyertalk are getting sold out messages popping up. Bronte, do you already have a car booked???

Same here. We have 8 days mid April and Alamo has never dropped below $320.00!

My Alamo rental for 4/5-4/13 is down again today. $150.93 including taxes/fees for a standard. This is $25 cheaper than two days ago.
I used the Southwest ID code and the $20 off code that is advertised on the front page of the Alamo website.

From past experience the rates tend to be the best when we get there. But this vacation we are staying at the Shades of Green so a rental car is almost a necessary. Am I missing something, that is causing not to find any good rates?

I got a good rate a couple weeks back using the Southwest and Visa code from the airport Alamo 4/19 - 4/28, standard car, $166 but since then my search is yielding prices over $400. I am guessing they will come down closer to your trip but you need to check EVERYDAY. That is how I got the price of $166.

I have been stalking Priceline for the past week and can't get anything lower than $25/day for a standard SUV for 10 days. 4/10-4/21. At this point I am looking for anything under $400 for the time we are there.

For those of you expert in this ... should I lock in at the $25 or wait it out another day or so to see if they take $20?

Just don't want to get burned and lock too early. Man I hate the car rental game.
