April 2012 code watch

Yes - it was a package so that explains it. I haven't had a child free moment to call (it's a surprise).

Hi everyone,
I'm just joining this thread after a very unexpected trip for April 2012.
My DD(16) has just qualified for cheerleading world championships April 28/29.We will be arriving on April 25 and staying to the 30th.
She will be staying with the team at Sports but I may book elsewhere (maybe Poly)

I've been reading for months here and haven't seen this yet (or just missed it). We are booked for the last week of April and am wondering if people actually can get a PIN after they have booked. because frankly - I need something :wizard:

I was wondering the same thing, too! We booked for April 21-28 with a 15% AAA room-only discount, but was hoping for something better.

Has anyone ever had a room or package booked and THEN received a pin?

Yes, you can get a PIN at any time, even after you have booked. In fact, just last fall I booked for the spring of 2011 and got a PIN via snail mail a month or 2 later. Hope you get one :goodvibes

Well, this doesn't help me because we can't go down to WDW until after Easter, but a TA I've worked with at Magical Vacations e-mailed me to tell me they are running an agency exclusive from April 1 - 8 with discounted rates at Polynesian, Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge. I think she said you can add discounted park tickets onto the room, but not dining?

I think you can just go on their website and request a price quote if you are interested.

Here's hoping for a discount for AFTER Easter, otherwise we'll have to wait until the end of August :( Guess I can't complain - I'll still get to go to WDW either way!

Polynesian Garden View- $459 + 12.5% tax per room per night

Polynesian Garden View- Club Level- $542.00 + 12.5% tax per room per night

Beach Club Standard View- $349 + 12.5% tax per room per night

Wilderness Lodge Courtyard View- $329 + 12.5% tax per room per night

Wilderness Lodge- Standard View- $289 + 12.5% tax per room per night

I don't even know if these are good rates - I didn't check because we can't go :( Thought I would pass the info along in case it helps anyone. I think you can just go on their website and request a price quote if you are interested.

Who is your TA at this company? These rates are pretty good, considering there is no discount at the moment. I just compared the rates with what is posted on Disney's website and the rate for WL Courtyard for this time period - $490 plus tax per night! We are going 4/5 - 4/9...this discount would work for us! Going to contact them and hope it works out!

$490 for WL Courtyard! Yowza! We stayed in a VWL 2-BR under the discount in August for just a little more than that. I guess that's why they call it peak season!!

Good luck! I hope they can help you!

I'm now looking at going the end of April (before had been looking end of Feb). I saved a trip for that time period in hopes of getting mailed a Pin. I ordered the CD last year and may have created a map. Should I do both of those again or would theoretically saving the trip while logged in be enough to let Disney know that I'm considering a trip during that time?

Also, if a new discount comes out after you are paid in full can you get a partial refund or is that the end of when you can still apply either a Public or Pin discount?

Must be karma (or else Disney employees lurking around this board)...

Clearly today's new code is solely because of my post and changing plans right :thumbsup2

Looks like I'd only save 5% at ASMo with the current promotion (after I checked on the website) so hoping for a great package deal!!

Hope some of you were able to take advantage of the room only code that came out today:goodvibes. I was able to apply it to our reservation at Beach Club:cool1:.

I was super excited to check the Disney website hoping for a discount and actually seeing one this morning! I was able to get 20% off our room at the Poly. I would have loved 30%, and have even thought about changing resorts, but DH talked me out of it. We were going to go regardless of discount, so I'm going to be happy with the one we got and leave everything alone!! And like I said, we planned on going with or without a discount, but for some reason, now that we actually have a discount, the trip seems more real...yay!!

I reserved a 5 night stay at Poly a little bit ago for the end of April. I'm not even sure yet if those will be our dates but since the deposit is refundable I thought it was worth getting something booked. :cool1:

I'm sitting here with my 3 year old daughter and want to tell her so bad but unfortunately she won't understand that we can't go today and have to wait 5 months :confused3

No savings for us so I am hoping for a package sale.

a "room only" dsicount does NOT mean you can't turn i tinto a package.

we just booked coronado springs with the new discount 25% off the room only. but we still added tickets and dining plan to the reservation, so we have a "package". it's just that the discount is only for the room (hence"room only")

so if you already have a package, you can apply the "room only" discount to it (unless you already have another discount, like AA or free dining. then you forfeit one discount for the other)

I was able to apply the discounts to 2 nights of our stay. We're going to Pop 3/30 through 4/7; only the first two nights are in the RO discount. I'm saving only $49 -- and WDW will still get the money -- but it's all good.

POFQ wasn't included in the discount. I've already got the 10% AAA discount so 20% at POR isn't worth changing resorts for us since we like POFQ because of the size. Now, if they offered 40%, I would definitely think about it.

I called and was told that it wouldn't save me money to do it as a room only and then add the tickets and dining. I looked it up online as well and it doesn't seem like I'd save anything.

So - what should I do? Was I given misinformation?

I would call back.

I had the discount applied to my current ressie, which was room, tix and dining. And did save money because the room portion got discounted by 30%. The CM has to be sure to get apply right code (I could hear my CM saying, "okay basic dining that'll be code N(then I couldn't hear the rest)". I think while the site shows one code to ask for, in reality behind the scenes there are different codes for the different package varieties.
