Allrighty, I'm back and in for the month!! I fell apart at the end of last month. With moving and keeping track of 3 different houses, keeping track of my spending fell by the wayside. We're staying with my MIL for the month and most of our stuff is packed. I anticipate a few extra purchases when I discover something I need is packed and in storage :rotfl2:! I'll go for 10 no buy days this month and I'm posting a budget for the first time.

4/4: $2.10 (CVS. Got $50 worth of stuff between sales, coupons and Extrabucks, though.)
4/5: $14.90 @ Subway for dinner last night. DD16 had a tour at the local news station (she's interested in going into Video Production) and we needed a quick dinner. However, then on the way home we stopped at 7-11 (the bane of my budget!) and we spent another $8.67. *sigh* Oh, AND I had to put $20 worth of gas in my Cobalt, which didn't even get me to half a tank *sob*. Luckily, I only have to drive to and from work the rest of the week (16 miles a day) and the grocery store is within 5 miles. The gas should last me into next week. (No plans this weekend, DH is working a lot and I want to get caught up on house projects.)

Tonight I'm going to the grocery store but hoping to JUST get things on my list. :P

I've been so focused on the new job that everything else is kind of secondary. We are down to one piece of bread, and no bread in the freezer. I will try to get out tomorrow and do some grocery shopping. But today is a no-buy, not because I have nothing to buy, or amazing willpower, but because I have no time or energy. :-)

Busy week is continuing, so only time to update the budget. (aside: Virgderon....I hear you on the lack of energy!)

My budget:
I will count all OTC purchases, but not the regularly budgeted and paid for bills like Church, heating, water, taxes etc.
I will not count DH's spending on his snacks, since he does that every day, and there is no way for me to keep track, anyway.
This month I have a couple of birthday gifts, and of course Easter candy. (not sure if I'm doing baskets or not....maybe just cash for each of 5 kids :scared1: ) My biggest goal is that I NOT spend as much as I did last month....that should be attainable, since last month was atrocious! Here's hoping for 12 no buy days.

April 1: $4 drug co-pay, grad pics for DD $172, gas $23

Wow. Yesterday was a big spend day.

Found water on the floor in the laundry. $408 later, new replacement water heater was installed---not optional.

Coffees while meeting with insurance agent, $5--better than meeting at our home where he might stay for hours.

Got invited to Chicago Blackhawks game, fabulous seats for a great game with great company. McDonalds supper on the way down (we economized by eating sandwiches only, not drinks or fries), $4 chocolate from the gas station (cheaper than it would be at the game), ???? for drinks for us and our hosts--- not a cheap evening, but a wonderful one. Well worth depleting the FUNd.

April 1-$0

April 2-$96.23

April 3-$0

April 4-$101.04

April 5-$0

April 6-$0

Today will probably be $0 too. This isn't as impressive as it looks. Oak pollen + asthma = me stuck in the house running the air conditioning 24/7. I don't even want to to even think about our next Entergy bill!

I'm not recording hubby's casual spends either. I know he stopped at Dollar General and bought his body wash yesterday but have no idea about drinks and snacking at work.
