I had to fly to New Jersey to take care of legal things today I flew united. But when I fly back I'm flying frontier airlines never flown them before I have anxiety about it because there a budget airline. I did not have a choice my lawyer made the arrangements. Any reviews on frontier airlines?

Frontier/Spirit/Allegiant are all great for what you pay.

They fall greatly below Delta/American/United when there are irregular operations, bad weather, mechanical, etc.

They fly a much leaner fleet so if there are issues they likely do not have a plane or flight crew to substitute when there are issues.

They also suffer from a reduced schedule. Often times there are only 1 or 2 flights a day from some cities so if there are issues it might be the next day or later before you can be accomidated.

Having said all that, my wife and I fly Frontier and Spirit often. It is hard to pass up some of the amazing fares. We have two wheeled carry ons that meet the sizing criteria for a free personal item on Frontier and Spirit and often plan 2 or 3 day trips around $17 dollar fares.

You will have a great flight.

Flew frontier twice, PHL to MCO. One flight was delayed, then rerouted. Other flight was ok timewise, but not a good experience. Snack for sale (ok), and nickel and dime for any options, exactly what you expect from a budget airline. The killer for me was the seats. Hard plastic, felt like sitting on a park bench for 3 hours. will not repeat

I flew Frontier once BOS - DFW no issues. Was under $100 for the flight including all taxes, checked bag, carryon, personal item. Seats were not my favorite. No outlet/plugs/in flight entertainment. Only free item was a water. Checked bag pickup was the complete opposite side of where we landed. Would fly again though for short distances.

Luckily I store a ton of Disney cartoons with me especially in the event that I’m flying on an IFE-less aircraft.

Ideally, we will try to only fly with the discount airlines like Frontier if it’s the first flight out in the morning (meaning you’re not relying on the plane staying on schedule) and only direct flights. They’re fine for what they are - no frills, uncomfortable seats and some unreliable schedules. We just flew them last week and pretty much violated all my rules. 😂. We flew late in the day (in fact, we had an 11pm flight home ) but only packed using personal items, so backpack only. But it was a last minute cheap trip, the two of us flew round trip to Fort Lauderdale for under $300.
