I just booked our hotel Sunday night at the POP and it was 2205.00 for 5 of us there's going to be me, DH,DD5,DS3,DS1. I just made the depost of the 200.00 so only 2005.00 left to go can't wait to get a pin just hope it's a good one

Hello All! I'm very new; i actually just signed up minutes ago when i saw this thread.

My DD is 5 and will be taking her 3rd trip this April. I too, am slave to a school system vacation. I have the 16-25 off. I plan to take the 14 -??? Last year we went for 10 days. We had planty of time to relax by the pool and meet every character on her little agenda.

Reading through the posts, i just realized this is Easter week. I am really worried about the crowds. I have been at Thanksgiving and at Christmas, two times I will not go again, so, is it really crowded during easter? I don't celebrate but have managed to miss the April breakers the last two years. Now, I'm not so sure.

I judge by the wait time at Dumbo. 30 minutes is more than fine. 150 minutes is not.

I have to go because she already knows about it, but i can limit my Disney days and go to Tampa or to visit family in Daytona for some of the trip.

What do you all think?

I hate to admit I'm going to cancel the fabulous 40% code we've got for our X-mas trip this year and plan a trip for the first week in APril. I only hope we get some kind of deal so we can still stay @ AKL. I'm so crazy for doing this but what we won't do for our families!

Hi and Welcome!!! April is such a beautiful time to visit WDW. Althought it can get busy during the Easter break as well as Christmas, my suggestion would be to be at rope drop for the parks, use lots of fast passes and tour the parks in the morning and then head back to your resort for some pool time in the afternoon, when the crowds get busy. However you look at it being at Disney when it is busy is soooo much better than not being there! Let's hope there are great discounts on the horizon....

Welcome!! We are thinking about the 1st week of April for our dates, but I'm flexible. I do hope we get a great deal for that time of the year as well!!!!

We are on the fence between late March/early April or Thanksgiving 2011 (I know huge difference). I can't go too close to Easter as I work in my sisters Chocolate store and she would kill me if I left at her busy time. Anyway, I was looking at some of the posts about airfare for Continental out of Newark (we fly out of there as well) I found flights as low as $158 round trip That is the lowest I have ever seen the. We usually take the earliest flight possible (6:15am or so) and the past 2 trips I've paid $228 for that flight, it's a huge difference with a family of 4.

I just hope it isn't true, that discounts will be fewer than other years. I am a true "stay on site person" but the new Hilton is looking pretty good, especially with the free bus service to the parks. Plus I"m not afraid to drive around any longer. Most of the construction around Orlando is finished and it is very easy driving. I am even a changed person and thinking the Swan/Dolphin may be an option too.

The 2011 rates are not available online yet but are available when calling to make a reservation. I got an email on Sunday updating my rates. I'm traveling April 13-21 at Pop Century. The first two nights are at a rate of $129, the third and fourth night are at a rate of $149 and the last four nights are at a rate of $154. DH and I will be checking out the Thursday before Easter - hence the high rates. I (and everyone else on here) am hoping for a discount. I might also be dropping my first night at Pop. My flight arrives at MCO at 1130pm and may just want to find a cheap off-site hotel for that first night.

Hi! Swan/Dolphin is as close to staying on property as you can get - other than staying in a DISNEY hotel. It is a wonderful resort! I hope that discounts are coming our way....

We are also waiting/hoping for a code for April as we are planning a trip from the 16th to the 23rd during DD's Easter break The very first time we took DD to Disney was over Easter break 2003 and it was insanely busy...of course we swore we would never go at this time again and have been spoiled by going annually in either May or October. Now DD is in middle school and honestly the workload is way too much for her to miss a week of school so we spoke about President's Week or Easter Week and the family voted on Easter...so come on discounts

Ok, getting nervous here. I keep reading about everyone's worries over crowd levels the week before Easter (wk of 4/17/11). I was thinking it wouldn't be all that crowded that week, believing that most schools in the country would be closed the following week. I also googled to see when the Florida State Assessments are, and it looks like they are scheduled during that week. Schools in my area of NY are closed, but that is because they observe the Jewish holidays. What are the school vacations in your area for April?
