We are planning an early April 2011 trip to Walt Disney World. I thought it would be fun to start a thread for all April travelers to wait for a discount together!!!

Since I am a teacher, I am locked into my vacation times or the summer I went three times during the summer and found the heat and humidity to be horrible This year, we went from April 23 to May 2 and had a marvelous, magical time I am thinking of going again next April but with school vacation it would be during Easter so I am joining the watch

Normally I go the last week of April and the first week of May. With the last week of April being the week after Easter in 2011, I'll be avoiding that week completely. April will be horrible next year because of such a late Easter. It will be peak season until April 30th!!

I plan to book my 2 week trip next Tuesday (June 1) for May 1-15 at the BWV using my DVC points for this trip. Normally I'm flexible and will wait to see what's open, but fear the window of opennings will be shorter for us folks who avoid the whole Easter mess.

Normally we like to fly in on Saturday too! But with that being Peak season and a Saturday night, I just can't pay that rate to stay, so will fly in on Sunday. It would be nice to get in a day earlier, but highly doubt it.

Pretty sure we've decided on April 9-16. Hoping for a discount since it will still be peak season, but sounds like not TOO many Spring Breaks that week. Fingers crossed. We've normally traveled in early May, but that doesn't work for next year. Choices became late Feb/early March or mid-April. Weather vs. crowds basically. We chose better weather!!

Just got the green light from BF to book our trip for next Easter. He's calling it a Florida trip instead of WDW. I don't care what he calls it, as long as I get to go to Disney.

Right now I'm looking at an 11 night stay- April 15-26. I love when Easter and Passover fall during the same time. That allows us to have a longer spring break.

I'm not worried about the crowds. We've done Easter/spring break trips in the past. Planning, fast pass, EMHs and getting to the parks early, allowed us to have avoid most crowds and have a great time.

those are the exact dates I am planning for! And I'm also hoping for 9 days as this is our first family trip to disney and I don't think 7 days will be enough. I just got the Monster PIN email this a.m. I wish I could use it!!!!

Seeing this thread prompted me to look at my school calendar and my ODD's calendar, and our Spring Breaks are not at the same time! UGH!!! Without thinking, I actually booked our trip for my Fall Break, and then remembered my ODD only gets a 2 day Fall Break, and it falls the week before our trip, go figure! So, I am not going to pull her out of school for two weeks! I guess it will be another fall break trip for us next year, as we are going on a cruise at the end of June in 2011, so, I can't imagine doing a vacation at the end of May, then going on the cruise a month later. (Well, I can imagine it, but my budget can't!)

So sad to think about this.....I so wish we were in the same school system.
