April 2, 2005 Magic-First DCL cruise-anyone going?

:cloud9: I just bought a dress for formal night. Yeah!!!

I am in Chicago for work and stole a few minutes to run through the big Marshall Fields store downtown and found a sale rack of "Pooh" sized evening gowns and actually found at least five or six that fit to choose from. :cool1: :cool1:

We're not booking any excursions, my youngest is too young and my husband and I have done the excursion thing on previous cruises. The only ones that I wanted to do were 3 to 4 hours and I just did not feel comfortable being unavailable for the little ones that long. We hope to go again down the road and will do some then. We will get off the boat with or without the kids and do our own thing. I also wanted to leave it open to not get off at all if we are enjoying the ship too much!

I hoping a formal I have in my closet from our last cruise will fit OK. Need to try it on soon.I guess I'm afraid I won't like it anymore then I'll have to go find another. With the cruise, excursions, airfare and spending money I'm trying not to spend anymore.

I had my Travel Agent make my excursion reservations. He said that Disney left him a message this morning that one of my excursions has been moved from morning to noon. I'm guessing it's the Coral World Excursion in St. Thomas. So it looks as if the excursions are booking up quickly.

Only about 10 more weeks now. :Pinkbounc

Looking back through posts, it looks like Molli&Emmas_mom will be celebrating a birthday while on board the Magic. Do we have anybody else that will be celebrating a special occasion while on board? You can fess up, we're all good friends here.

:cake:

I could have sworn that I looked at the countdown timer yesterday and it was 74 days, time is really flying by! We booked the cruise to celebrate our 10th anniversary, but it's not until July so we are not actually celebrating it on the cruise, it was just inspired by our anniversary!

That's a very good reason to celebrate with a cruise. I was thinking I had seen a couple of anniversaries mentioned but didn't go back through all the posts.

Celebrating:
Birthdays:
Molli&Emmas_mom: 2 birthdays
Tiggerish: Niece's 15th birthday

Anniversarys:
cwf1028: 10th Anniversary
crystaldri: 10th Anniversary

Yeah! :cheer2:

Congrats!

I was wondering which dining seating everyone had. We have late since our kids wouldn't think it's a vacation if they didn't get to stay up late! I also hope that we can sleep late!

Early seating for us, also. The kids are used to eating early and thought it best to stay close to their routine as possible.

We will be :cheer2: celebrating :cheer2: my niece's 15th birthday princess: while on board even though the actual date is not until a few days after we get back.

We're early too! We had early seating on our last cruise and it worked well for us - thought we'd stick with what worked!!

I'm signed up for late. I enjoy going to the earlier show and then having a very relaxed dinner. Kids want to stay up late on vacation anyway. I let them head off to the Oceaneer's after eating while I stayed talking with the other folks at my table.

Late for me..well that is if I get what I asked for :) Not rushed after excursions and if too tired I can just get something earlier from room service and skip it.

We are early seating. I hope we don't feel too rushed. :D We will be celebrating our 10 year aniversary too! :cheer2:

We had the early seating on our previous cruise and never really felt rushed - except the first night! There was a rocket launch scheduled at Kennedy that we hung out on deck in hopes of seeing...ended up being postponed and we didn't get to see it.

After the winter storm in the Midwest this weekend, I am really looking forward to this cruise.
