April 18th, 2009! - PATRIOT'S OF THE CARIBBEAN - Western Magic!

On a different note....... our cruise docs arrived this afternoon!!! :yay:

The last couple of cruises, they didn't arrive until about two weeks prior, so they are definitely early this time!

Must be close now.........

we haven't gotten our's yet... I almost forgot we still needed to get those!

waiting (im)patiently! :rolleyes1

We got our cruise docs today, too!! And the luggage tags had our upgraded cabin number on them so that made me feel better. (I must have checked our online reservation 5 times to make sure I wasn't reading the stateroom number. It still says we're booked for a Category 9, though, which is what was making me nervous.)

Oh, and just to make it all the more realistic, we got a call from DVC Member Services this afternoon, telling us about the cabin upgrade. Funny how both happened on the same day!

We're driving down to FL (from MA) and we're leaving 4 WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!  :cool1: :cool1:

We got our today too!

On my December cruise during the lifeboat drill they asked the guest be quiet in the hall, do not hang out by staircases. Lots of do's and don'ts and to respect other passengers....

I saw them ask kids who were sitting in a chair at the Adult pool to leave.

The worst thing I saw and this was a couple of cruises ago was when a boy went the bathroom in the Goofy pool .....and the father slithered away while everyone else swam in his son's toilet. He picked up his two boys and walked away.....I had to get the cast member to close the pool. I was sitting on the edge watching my son swim when this boy started yelling Daddy I have to go the bathroom and he yelled well where is your Mom.

It was really bad.....

now that I think of it... we probably wouldn't get our docs til next week because it'll probably take the TA a few days to ship them out to us.

If I don't get them a week from Monday, I'll give her a jingle...

ps... I'm thoroughly grossed by the dad who let his kid use the pool as his private toitty... ga-ross!

We got our docs yesterday! And we used a TA...Dreams Unilimted!

As far as the little boy pool incident...Thats just disgusting!!! I can't believe that some people are so wrapped up in other things that they don't pay attention to their kids, or just plain old too lazy to do anything about it!

Sorry for the late post. Just got home from spending the weekend with my folks.

Wes and I got our docs on Friday also and we booked thru DVC using points!

Just a few more days now!

See you all real soon....:cool1:

totally gross, but the way you said this just made me crack up! :lmao:

So, girls, I am going to go for the.... shhhhh...... wax route this cruise. Never done it for anything other than brows. I am a little scared. :scared1: I actually think I may even go to tan a little too - never done that either, but I spend most cruises burnt like a lobstah the first few days and my sister keeps telling me to do it so I don't have to worry so much.

advice??? :surfweb:

I just went and checked on the cruise and right now there are only Cat 4,5,6 available. When you click Cat 6 you are only guaranteed - no specific rooms available to see. I clicked on main seating for dining and it gave it to me, but I didn't go to the end, so I don't know if it would have held.

I am more calm than I would have been about it. But it does look like they are filling the ship. I would take big bets that you could get a suite if you wanted one, though.

Good luck with that :rotfl2: I would be a little scared too! You will have to let us know how it goes.
I am not a big fan of the tanning booths but if will help you from getting burns before you go that might be good.

I just checked for our cruise, and Cat's 4-12 were available. So I'm not too sure about them filling the ship! We are wanting an upgrade, so hoepfully there are some available!

Really? Hunh, I wonder if that happened for you because of family size? I can't make anything but 4-6 to show up.

No, but I was just about to go read it - love a little controversy in my reading on the DIS - oh, and you may have to be a bit more specific since on our last DCL cruise there were more than just one male couple! ;) In fact we were cruising with a lot of the DIS webmasters and Pete too!

I think ABC has the plastic long necks in stock or else Publix does. It may not be that hard to find since everyone wants them to be by the pool! Hope you have luck with it! We had a huge bucket of them by Ron Jons' pool when we met up with some people from our cruise there last time and they had gotten them at Publix.

Thanks so much for the advice!

I also just checked room availability. With three people Cat 4-12 were available. With four people only Cat 4-9 showed up for me.

I just checked again today and Cat's 4-12 were available! Hopefully that means good upgrades at the terminal!

How does that work? I assume you go up and tell them at check in you want a better room. What does this cost?

After you check in, you can go to the supervisor's station at the counter (far right end, next to Concierge check in) and ask if any upgrades are available (if none are available, there will be a small sign indicating that none are available). The price is based on what you booked versus what category you want to upgrade to, and it is a per cabin charge, not per person. Prices vary from cruise to cruise, so no way to tell until you get there.

Hi All!

Keep the ship in a clean and running order for us please! I'm on the April 25th cruise right after you so save me some beer. :thumbsup2

I hopped in to see when you were getting your cruise docs and it looks like I should expect them anyday now if you got yours last week.

Hope you all have a fantastic trip! Have FUN!!!!!!
