April 18th, 2009! - PATRIOT'S OF THE CARIBBEAN - Western Magic!

Tinkerbelle77- We are in 6307 the week before you all get on the Magic. We were Cat. 12 and were thrilled to be upgraded to this cabin. We will try to leave something special for you since you are a DIS'er too. Not sure if the CM's will let us leave anything, but we'll try. Think of it as a FE gift inside your cabin! Have a great trip! Hope one of ya'll do a TR on the Western itinerary! We are doing the Eastern.

Thats so neat....We are excited about the upgrade to an 11 also! We would love to have a little treasure hunt for somthing little left behind! The kids will love that! Thank you! Have a great cruise and enjoy!

Glad to see that the GTY folks are getting cabin assignments, and a few upgrades as well!

I just finished doing the online check in, so we must be close! Flying down four weeks from Friday. Can't wait!

In case I missed it, is there a DIS meet planned once we're on board?

I was also wondering about a DIS meet. I have not seen anything on this board or the private board.

Don't know where I will leave it , but I'll let the staff that we are doing it! Have a wonderful cruise and a fabulous wedding! Can't wait to hear about it....you need to do a trip report!

Now, I will leave you all alone and will get back to my trip thread! Thanks for letting me hang with ya'll!

Yes we are...Deck 7 at 4pm on 4/23...We wanted a Disney wedding, but without all the hoopla...We wanted it small and simple...Disney cruise line is doing all the work... we just show up dressed, and they did all the rest!

Just let me know where you are leaving it, and we will look for it! Ask your room steward, and they will probably help ya out! Thanks again! I do have a planning journal on the wedding boards here, I will post more to it as it happens! We are also doing a MAgic Kingdom photo shoot!

Everyone - there is NO meet planned as of yet for once on board - and no meet planned for prior to cruise date either.

This is open for anyone wishing to plan one to do so.

The only planned activity is the fish extender exchange.

We do not have T-Shirts, wrist bands, lanyards, etc.

This is also open for a hearty planning sole to take on if anyone wants to.

Please feel free to step forward to plan any of this or help plan a meet.

I have been asked not to do this again by my husband, who regretably experienced a bit of missed wife last cruise due to the organization of meets, etc. I vowed not to do it to him again (see we had an infant that someone always needed to stay with when the DIS'rs were getting together at Palo or Sessions, as an explanation). So, that being said, the position of cruise director of the Patriots in the Caribbean is OPEN.

My family will be wearing our wrist bands from our prior cruise - which are lime green to signify the DIS.

if anyone wants to organize this, its at www.reminderband.com I ordered them last time and we wrote on them, DISney Magic'al Memories 4-29-06 and had them made in lime green and we used the glow in the dark lettering. They are super cool!

It was so cool to walk around and see everyone with them! We had a large DIS group and felt like we had friends everywhere on the ship.

OK - that's probably as far as I am allowed to go with the whole planning thing at this time. Sorry. I am here to keep us moving along in the thread, but that's all I can do this cruise and keep my wonderful husband happy. :rolleyes1

This is our first Disney cruise, so I don't think I'll bite on taking on "full-blown" cruise director role, but I'd be willing to order wristbands. If I order 100 will that be sufficient?

Update: I placed an order today for silicone wristbands. All the details are on the private board, so if you're sailing with us and are interested, please let me know over there.

We'll be the male couple at the Quiet Cove pool with a bucket of Miller Lite -- feel free to walk-up and introduce yourself if you see us! It's so easy to strike up a conversation with a fellow Disney fan. :goodvibes

BTW, has anyone seen that thread on "Age Enforcement"? I really hope we don't run into that issue on our cruise. I certainly don't mind check-ins and little ones passing through on their way to the family pool, stopping to tie a shoe, whatever -- but if Quiet Cove didn't exist, we probably wouldn't be on DCL . . .

epcotrulz - - - Well, now not only will I be able to find you, but you'll have to guard your bucket of Miller Lite, because that's my favorite brew, too!! :rotfl2:

Do you bring your Miller on-board? This is our first time planning to bring on-board, and I'm nervous about bringing on glass bottles. If they're not allowed, that's fine, I'll just need to find a store close to port that sells the plastic bottles -- which can be a challenge . . .

You can take on bottles but you will have to poor your beer in a cup when out by the pool. I just bought cans on our last cruise.

What is or where is private board. How do I get a wrist band.

No, but I was just about to go read it - love a little controversy in my reading on the DIS - oh, and you may have to be a bit more specific since on our last DCL cruise there were more than just one male couple! ;) In fact we were cruising with a lot of the DIS webmasters and Pete too!

I think ABC has the plastic long necks in stock or else Publix does. It may not be that hard to find since everyone wants them to be by the pool! Hope you have luck with it! We had a huge bucket of them by Ron Jons' pool when we met up with some people from our cruise there last time and they had gotten them at Publix.

I got to page 4 and gave up on that one.

The good news, epcotrulz, is that its only spring break for us up here in the Northeast, so that should limit the amount of school aged kids (read: poorly behaved parents) on the cruise.

I didn't spend much time at the Quiet Cove Pool, so I don't know if this went on the last April cruise we took. I don't think so, because when I was there, it was ADULTS only.

Hoping for a very well behaved, awesome group of cruisers on our Magic'al voyage! :cutie: :goodvibes

We had the WORST cruise of our life one time because of, and only because of, the way people were acting on that cruise - so, truly, this is my BIG wish for this upcoming cruise!

I hate to be the bearer of somewhat bad news, but every DCL cruise we have taken during the MA spring break, was pretty loaded with school aged kids. The past two years we have taken a 4 night and there were close to 1000 kids on both of them. The last 7 night we took during spring break (April, 2004), I recall them saying, during the D Sea U graduation, that there were 1200 kids on board, and several hundred of them were from MA.

Hopefully, the adults will behave themselves on this cruise.

so then the question for you is, were the parents/kids as bad during the april cruises you have taken as the thread implies people are being right now about staying within the adults only rules?

Our last cruise wasn't during a school vacation week, so that would have impacted my impression of it not being that bad.

I know the stage was full of kids and I am pretty sure we were at capacity with kids on our cruise because we had a friend wanting to join us and they couldn't because there was no room for a family with children to book at the point they made this decision. But sometimes it matters what breakdown of kids you have cruising.

I don't know. :confused3

Let's all hope for great people - no manner issues - and all pixie dust and magic! :tinker: ::MickeyMo

I'm not sure the April cruises were really much different than the others we've been on. I've been following the thread about adult areas as well, and I think you may see some of what is being discussed, on just about any DCL cruise. Personally, I don't have a problem with kids just doing a quick check in with parents or just walking through the Quiet Cove area. If it becomes more than that, I would not hesitate to seek out a CM or complain at Guest Services. It is also impossible to get anywhere aft of the forward elevators (on deck 9) without going through the adults only area. We don't usually go to the nightclubs after 9:00pm, so I have no first hand experience with that issue.
