April 18, 2010 - 4 night Wonder

We kind of lucked out overnight as we only received about 1/2" of snow, but I'm still a bit worried about the Nor'easter heading our way Friday. Just saw on FOX weather that we are in the heavy snowfall area with this next storm. :sad2: The good thing is, the storm is coming on the weekend.

We got 1/2" or less last night. It's still flurrying but should be all over soon. Certainly not enough to worry about.

I hope you don't get too much this weekend Andy. Even though it will be a weekend event, I can think of a lot better ways to spend the weekend than shoveling! Take cruising for example....... :thumbsup2

Right now the forecasters up here are saying it "should be" just snow showers, but they aren't 100% certain yet.

We're getting off the wonder on the 18th lol, we'll keep the rooms cool and the beds warm for you in the secret porthole room we have lol. :cool1:

This is the kind of snow I can deal with. Left for work and the yard and driveway was covered in snow, just got in for lunch and it is all melted away!!! :thumbsup2

Of course, I did have to walk through a lot of soggy snow covered yards this morning, but most of that snow is gone as well now, should make my afternoon go smoother!!! :goodvibes

Thanks, much appreciated!!! :thumbsup2

Just booked this cruise for half of my family! DH is taking my two older sons to ski in Colorado so I decided to take a cruise with my DD-14, DS 9 and Princess DD-4. We have been to Disney World but this will be our first cruise. It has been so much fun planning for this- just hard to not start packing now!

Welcome Aboard!!

Took a nasty tumble this morning and landed on the knee I had replaced last June. I'm doing OK, other than my knee swelling to almost double it's size, LOL!!! I tripped over a tree root that was covered with frozen leaves. Luckily, I don't think anyone saw me........:rotfl2:

Just what I need with more snow arriving tomorrow. Oh well, life is still good, at least I have a job to go too. My youngest brother was just here, he was laid off a few days ago form the plant he worked at. :sad2:

Time to grab some lunch, COME ON APRIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Take care of that knee Andy! Don't want to miss this cruise!! I hope you're home tomorrow before the snow starts.

I know what you mean about lay offs. It is happening everywhere, to just about anyone.

Me too!!! ;)

I think it is supposed to start later in the day on Friday, so hopefully I should be home before it starts. Waiting for the latest update now on the FOX noon news.

Our weatherlady Sue Serio just reported we might not be measuring this snowfall by a ruler, but by a yardstick...........:eek::eek: Should start between 5 and 7 tomorrow evening here.

If your local weather forecasters are anything like the ones up here, they will probably hype it up! By this time of year, ours have calmed down a little, but early in the season they make every storm sound like it's going to be the Blizzard of '78 all over again - then we get 3 or 4 inches.

Try to get done a little early tomorrow and stay safe.

Snow started here a little while ago, last I heard we are expecting up to 24" or more by the time the storm ends tomorrow night. :sad2:

I sooooooooooooooooooooo wish I were in Florida right now!!!

Over a foot of snow already on the ground and it's still coming down real hard.

It was just reported 17" at Philly Airport, we live just across the Delaware River from Philly. Looks like this could finish as our 2nd largest snowfall in recorded history for our area, and that was just recorded on the Dec. 19, 2009 snowfall we had of 23.2" Our all time record is 30.7" in Jan. 1996.

Yardstick on top of our tree stump, 17"+ and counting

I'm with you, and it's not even snowing up here. Be glad you aren't supposed to be flying out to get on the Magic today!

I'd come down with the snowblower to help you out, but I would probably never make it, not even in 4 wheel drive!

Be careful when you do go out to shovel. The weather folks up here are saying that it is wet snow, so it has to be really heavy! What I usually call - heart attack snow.

Yes, it is indeed, a wet heavy snow. I live on a county road and the county plow truck just went past and threw even more snow and ice on our property. :sad2: I haven't seen any of our township trucks out in our area yet. I'm hoping one of them come by and run the plow in front of my house like they did back in December.

I called a friend of ours that was on the Disney Magic this past week. Gayle and her husband were just leaving Parrot Cay after finishing their breakfast. They are due to fly home to Atlantic City Airport this evening, I don't think they are going to make it. Gayle said they might be spending the night at OKW in WDW if they can't get a flight out until tomorrow. Such a shame having to spend an extra night in Florida. :lmao:

Awwwww........ that's tooooo bad! :sad2: Maybe they should stay an extra two nights, just to be safe.

I can think of quite a few worse places to be stuck!

Had a friend send this to me on Facebook:

Snow on da' ground.....snow on da' ground..... Drivin' like a fool wit da' snow on the ground....look at ya now - car spinnin around.....drivin like a fool wit da' snow on Da ground!!!... Slow it down! (I don't care what anyone says....that is funny!!).
