Hey deb, would you mind elaborating please? Are you saying to wait until we are the boat to book? Do you think if we wait that the NY options will be sold our though? (if that is, indeed, what you are saying)
Hope you don't mind if this Deb answers your questions.
It's best to book as soon as the reservation window opens for the lowest price because
DCL sells cabin categories on tiered price points. Then, you can "re-shop" your reservation when you are onboard and get the discount and OBC if it works out to be cheaper than your original fare.
Here's a perfect example of why it's best to book as early as possible... DH and I were waiting until our Baltic cruise last July to book this 4/17 cruise. But, around February 2010, I started reading on this thread how the ship was selling out quickly. So, I went ahead and booked and then planned to re-shop onboard. Well, by the time July rolled around, all of the prices had jumped so high that even with the 10% discount and OBC, our current reservation was much cheaper than what I could get rebooking onboard. I'm still kicking myself that we didn't book this cruise earlier!!!!!!!!
Here are the Onboard Booking Discounts for 2011 cruise sailings:
In addition to the 10% discount off cruise fare:
Silver CC Members receive $100 OBC for 3-6nt cruises or $200 OBC for 7nt+ cruises
Gold CC Members receive $150 OBC for 3-6nt cruises or $275 OBC for 7nt+ cruises
Platinum CC Members receive $250 OBC for 3-6nt cruises or $350 OBC for 7nt+ cruises
I don't believe Cats 1, 2, or 3 get the 10% discount, but it's been reported that Cat 11C and old Cat 12s are receiving both the 10% and OBC.
Question: do we have to take our passport off with us when going to Nassau and cc?
Definitely not needed for CC. In the past, we've needed a driver's license with our KTTW card for CC, but this might have changed now that they're putting photos on the KTTW cards... I think.
We always take our passports when in a foreign port such as Nassau, but you can get by with keeping them in the cabin safe and taking color copies instead if you prefer. The only time we were
required to carry our passports was in Russia during our Baltic cruise.
Do they sell waterproof holder for valuables (forgot the name) that you can hang around your neck while at Atlantis or swimming on the cruise ship? I cannot imagine trying to buy one now!
The Wonder and Magic gift shops had them in two sizes, so I would imagine the Dream has them, too. If not, they also carry them at the She Sells Sea Shells gift shop on CC.

They make a great little souvenir!
