April 17, 2011 on the Dream

:lmao: The only way to stop shopping is to start packing - then you will realize you have everything you need! (or will know for sure what you still need to get). I got lots of new clothes for DD at Justice with their usual 40% off, and then we discovered P.S. store , and got more clothes. Now, P.S. sends those annoying coupons with up to 30% off and it's too late for price adjustment  I diid my shopping too early....

What is P.S.? And what mall? I'm going to visit Mom tomorrow in White Plains...!

P.S. from Aeropostale, we have never shopped there before until now. It was easy to get matching well fitting outfits there (most fit better than ones from Justice).

I am at the dental office now, I will try to find their latest coupon for you later. :wizard:

Just found it, but it expired on 3/20. Here it is anyway, sometimes it works even after an expiration date http://view.ed4.net/v/NSJDEDQ/AEHH0...191927994&csc=546547&csa=192122902&csu=548006

And this one is for Express get one shorts, second is 50% off plus additional $30 off $75 purchase. (my DH is there right now getting new shorts). Print a few of them and ask to make different transitions at the register.

Happy shopping!

Hate dental work :headache:

:scared:

I'm with you! Wisdom tooth pulled two weeks ago and then had to go to regular dentist for cleaning last Thursday. Really wanted to cancel but didn't...I just told him - be gentle with me!

Shopping, shopping, shopping... I think I need an intervention! :scared1:
So I am on this purse and shoe kick, again...:rolleyes1 I have decided I need a new WDW purse to carry my phone, camera, etc... I never have found one I completely like. So I bought this really nice looking, expensive, mini bag from Anushka - I just tried to put my stuff in it and hate it. The only thing it is good for is the inside zip pocket for my iPhone, but I can't justify $115 for just that. So it is going back. I bought two pairs of Teva Mush flip flops and a new pair of Merrell sneakers from Zappos. Love them all...guess they are staying. Bought Connor a new wardrobe of Spring stuff from Gap kids (30% off) - took it all out of box, he tried it on and everything fit and now I am thinking I should just move it all into a suitcase and he is packed. :woohoo: Connor and I went to the mall today - did a little looking around for me, swim suit, shorts, etc... didn't find much but found a lot of great winter stuff on sale, so I bought all that! I am not doing well. Last night I shopped on Amazon, bought a new SD card, I-95 driving guide, plus other stuff...I also went to Passporter hoping the new DCL guide was out, it isn't; but I bought the updated 2011 WDW guide! What is wrong with me??? :rolleyes1  I need to step away from the computer! But here I am back again...
I am going to go through all my spring clothes and start packing, that may help!
Happy weekend all!!!

Here is "driving I-95 to WDW", FREE! May be you could still adjust your order?!
http://www.wdwinfo.com/Transportation/I95.htm

I did so well at Express today! :cool1: I used $30 off 75 SIX times plus one time $15 off!!!!! i had to make it very careful, just at $75 each transaction. Got two gorgeous dresses, a few t-shirts, two new Polo shirts for DH, two dress shirts for DH, shorts for DH and DS, and a new bag

I wish I had your luck with shoes: so far most of what I ordered will have to back :sad2: I have flat feet and it is so hard to find a comfortable pair of shoes that is not ugly  I just gave DH OK to mail recent pair of Teva back. I will give it another try, maybe Merrells this time :worship:

I have to go back to dentist next Saturday  He did not do two fillings originally planned for today, because he noticed a decay under an old filling which he insisted needed to be taken care of right away. He had to give me the second analgesic shot, because one was not enough as it was so close to the nerve :headache: At least I had fun shopping right after

Oh my gosh...I am cracking up right now. Connor must be getting a touch of some bug, he was in the bathroom for a while last night, was fine today but now he feels horrible. again. So he is in the bathroom downstairs crying for us to help him. So I ask him how do you want me to help you. He cries to me - I don't know, get the doctor or something. Then he asks what time is it? So I tell him 9:20, he cries again - Oh no, I am going to be in the bathroom till after 10:00! At this point I can't help myself I am cracking up. He is so dramatic. Anyway, he is finally out and then comes upstairs and is hugging me saying "please help me" so I asked again "what do you want me to do " He says (dramatically) "Just get me through this!" OMG!! Guess I need to get off the computer and go lay with him, which means I may have this next... Ugghhh!

Yelena - shoes I bought from Zappos (my most favorite store) - Teva Olowahu (just like Teva Mush) and Merrell Siren Sport. I wore the Merrell's yesterday and loved them, plus bonus my feet looked small in them.

I also placed a big order this afternoon w/Vera Bradley. I know, intervention needed please! I got a Mini Hipster, wristlet and backpack; plus various accessories to go with the bags.

Going to Connor...

Debbie think of it this way, when you are lying there sick as a dog, at least you will be fashionable!!! Seriously though, please be careful!!!!

PS- I just ordered my teva olowahu shoes lo, not to mention a pair of keens!

What's the official countdown now??! 23 days?

Bummer :sad2: we're not staying on "official" WDW property. We're at Bently Brook (Wyndham TS) BUT.... we're eating at BOMA at AKL on Thursday night (7:00 ressie)! We've never eaten there...

Thursday - Animal Kingdom
Friday - off to Epcot
Saturday - off to MK
Sunday - off to Studios

I'm so excited now...... :yay::yay:

Justice is having a 40% off everything sale until Sunday - heading there for some shades tomorrow with DD, 11. :cool1:

Im sure you mean you are staying at Bonnet Creek, since it would be a very long commute if you stayed at Bently Book after the cruise. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I like Boma, DH & DD aren't that thrilled with it. We haven't eaten there in a while, might have to give it another try in June. I just hate they add the holiday surcharge onto the buffet meals.
I made a ressie for Chefs de France for Friday night, haven't eaten there in a while. We wanted Rose & Crown but they were full for Thurs. and Fri. night. :headache:

Hi Everyone,

Its been a while since I've been on. I can't believe how many of us are staying at AKL after the cruise! Less than three weeks to go. I feel like I should be doing something to get ready but it still feels a little early. I have to get my 13 year old son to try on his summer clothes as I think he has grown 5 inches since summer!
This is a very busy time of year for me with all three kids involved in softball and baseball I am hardly home. I suppose I should start getting ready or I'll be left rushing around at the end- although I'm sure that is going to happen anyways!

Three weeks from this very moment, we should be looking for a place to grab some breakfast in the Port Canaveral area.

Time to start packing! :cool1:

Yes, alot of us are staying at AKV specifically Jambo post cruise.

Years ago, I did a blended family vac with my ex at AKV and he was so impressed with AKV. He still talks about today.

We are on the mend but My youngest missed MCAS's entirely! I hope make ups are before we leave. He's a diabetic so has to be in a separate room anyway. I'm just glad he's getting better. Between that and his asthma, chest colds are serious business with him.

Hello all,

I can't believe we leave in less than 3 weeks. Deb - I love the play by play posts. I spent this morning going through my boys' clothes. As I should have expected most everything from last summer is too small. I'm lucky in that I've got the 3 boys, so its usually only DS14 who needs new stuff. I've got piles everywhere. My bedroom looks like a flea market. For some reason this makes me happy.

This will be our first cruise, I'm hoping some veterans can help with a question. Several of our group will be doing the Catamaran snorkel excursion in Nassau. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm most interested in the water temp. Will it be warm enough to comfortably snorkel? I couldn't find much information on this excursion.

Thanks!

Hi, we did it two years ago. Water was cool for me, but still comfortable enough. However, we were FREEZING when we came out of water, we had only one towel for each person and when towels got wet they did not help much. So, my advice is: take a warm cover up or an extra dry towel. Snorkeling was so much fun! Our DD was 8 at the time and she LOVED it too.

Been a little busy this week and weekend. Had a few minutes to catch up on the thread and what do I find out, we will know half of the folks staying at AKL post cruise! We were originally booked at Kidani in a 1BR but switched to a studio in Jambo House instead.

Will be nice to be able to say hello to folks in the lobby and at the pool!

We'll be cruising soon...

Thanks. This is helpful. I'm always cold in the water, but it never seems to bother my boys. I'd have them wearing parkas and snowpants.

Good to know your DD liked it. Is she a strong swimmer? My DS10 is a little hesitant. He's a pretty good swimmer, but he's never swam in the open ocean. I was thinking of staying on the ship with him and DD5. DH will be taking my DS14 and DS12. Maybe I'll try to talk it up to DS10. I hate to have him miss the experience.

I just tried on my bathing suits :scared1: Funny how everything seems to be sinking as I age.

I hope your 10 yrs old decides to join :goodvibes Our DD swam at RedCross level 3 or 4 at the time, but it did not matter much because she had a life vest on that allowed her to stay on the surface. Did your son ever snorkel before? If yes, he should definitely join. I think, I was more nervous than our DD - I made my DH hold her hand all the time :cutie:

Hello, All!!

Two more weekends left...:rolleyes1

So I guess I better continue with my FE gifts, huh?:upsidedow

Off topic question but... I need help! :confused3
Has anyone ever made chocolate covered oreo cookies??
I have been trying to make them all day for a bake sale fundraiser for our Relay for Life team. A good friend's daughter is 5 years old and has Leukemia, she was diagnosed at 18 months old, had chemo for two years, went into remission then relapsed last August. She is now on chemo again for two more years. Anyway...we formed a Relay team last May and we are doing it again this year. This year we are getting serious about fundraising and we are having a bake sale at the middle school we all work at for our 1/2 day/teacher work day Thursday.
So my great idea was chocolate covered oreos. I have Ghiradelli dipping chocolate. I melted it in a double boiler, no problem. Then I read to put a skewer in the middle of the cookie and freeze for an hour then dip and harden with it the stick holding the cookie up. Let me say that didn't work! So then I dipped and put them on a cookie cooling tray. Guess what that didn't work - cause all the chocolate hardened in the grooves and then when I tried to remove they fell apart - lots of broken ones to eat... :rolleyes1
Next I dipped and hardened on wax paper - that worked much better! But now I am out of chocolate and only have 17 bags of three cookies to sell. Do you think three cookies in a bag is ok for $1? If I wanted to make more, can I just melt chocolate chips or do I need to go buy dipping chocolate??? Anyone have any suggestions? I have googled this but not found anything helpful.
Thanks all...
Didn't get much cruise stuff done today because I have been stuck in the kitchen with oreo cookies and chocolate! :rolleyes1

Hello, All!!

Two more weekends left...:rolleyes1

So I guess I better continue with my FE gifts, huh?:upsidedow

Yikes! Every one of our weekends have involved travel away from home, and will continue through the end of May! Next weekend, we'll drive to DD's to help address wedding invitations. The following weekend, we'll drive to DD's DFiance's hometown for a bridal shower. No rest for the weary over here. :sad2: And, not much time for cruise preparations.

I finally started bagging my FE gifts on Friday. I got everything bagged for this cruise, plus my FE gifts for the 4/21 cruise. I still need to create FE gifts to give out from my DD on the 4/21 cruise since she just let me know that she isn't going to have time to come up with anything. Then, I want to organize everything by cabin, box it all up, and pack them in one of our carry-on duffel bags. I'd love to have this done by next Friday... :rolleyes1

I'm not too worried about packing... after all, how long can it take to fill up two roll-aboard carry-on suitcases? :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: Still, though, I'd like for that to be done at least a week before we leave.

I am soooooo ready to be on that ship! I'll be glad to be away from home, away from work, away from all the stresses of wedding planning, and far, far away from all my "do to" lists!!!! :woohoo:
