April 17, 2011 on the Dream

Kelly, or anyone that knows, can you send us the link to the navigators if possible please and thanks! :goodvibes

I sadly haven't figured out how to copy/paste on my mac yet so I can't post the link. As of 3:17 it's on page 2 of the main cruise board and was last updated today at 10:25 am.

I did email my TA at Dreams Unlimited and she said the changes to dining/shows are a test, she was onboard last week. So there is no guarantee they will still be in place when we cruise, however, I haven't heard anything negative about them yet so hopefully they stay in place!!!!

I'm off to pick up a 2nd sick child from school. Had one home all week who tested positive for Influenza B, thinking there's another case on the way....

Just in case anyone is interested......

I was just on the DCL web site and there are still Palo brunch ressies available at 11:00AM on our sea day. There were also Remy ressies available at 7:40PM on the first night. I'm sure there will be other openings once on board, but I was surprised there was anything still available online.

I checked 45 minutes after this post and there was nothing left for brunch. Ugghhh! I'll keep checking and if not try when we are onboard!
Thanks for the heads up!
Debbie

hmmm... not thrilled about the time changes. I guess my biggest question is if I had the earliest show, and early seating, do we how have to go to the show at 4 pm? So not thrilled about this.

no Palo this afternoon - thanks for the reminder to keep checking, though! :surfweb::thumbsup2

I am with you. 6 pm was early, 5:45 is even earlier (we would have switched, but it does not work for our friends). But I love 8:15 instead of 8:30. I guess it is a loose/win situation.

Now, how does it work with the shows? If we go for 6:30 show, it will be over by 7:15, and then we will have the whole hour till 8:15, right? :confused3

Panic, panic, panic....:scared1: but I tried very hard not let it stop me from going to my finally re-opened gym (it has been closed since the end of December ). As I put my rain coat on and took my gym bag, I have heard very strange noise on top of our skylights.....What could it be? :confused3 FREEZING RAIN!!!!!! :scared1: :sad2: :headache: No gym for me :guilty: (the road from the gym is downheel and very curvy :scared1:).

Is everyone making pins? If so how are u making them?
I bought "fun buttons" at Michael's today. Now, I will try to print images so that they fit into these buttons. It will probably take me a few attempts before I get the right size :goodvibes

Sure..... go ahead and rub it in!! :rolleyes1

Our flight home will be landing just about the time you do the lifeboat drill on the second cruise! :sad2:

;) If I had my way, all of you would be on that second cruise with me! :grouphug:

Yes, we have cruised with the FL res. rate a couple of times and we have FL res. AP's. In the past, you were able to get a part time FL DL or FL ID, but that was stopped in 2010. If you check the FL resident section of the WDW website it lists what options you are able to use to get FL resident discounts.
I did switch my DL over to a FL one and gave up my DE one, so I'm good to go. For DH, we'll have to use one of the options listed on the WDW website.

I've said it before... you are living my dream!!

So, here's what typically happens on the other ships... Main diners eat at 5:45pm and then go to the 8:30pm show. Dinner can take up to two hours in the rotational restaurants, so that leaves about 30-45 minutes of free time in between. Usually, there is a "family cabaret" type show during that time that's fun to watch. For late diners, the scenario is reversed... they go to the 6:15 show, then have time to catch the family cabaret before dinner. On the sea day, I expect there will also be a 4pm matinee time for Believe. I just might go to both the matinee and the 6:15pm show!! :)

AC Moore had "Photo Memory Buttons" in two sizes, so I bought the larger 3-1/2" size button. I'll cut&paste svcutler's graphic into a Word document and then use the built-in top and side rulers to help size the graphic to fit the button. :thumbsup2

Soooo sorry to hear you all are still getting bad weather! :guilty: Hang in there... only 25 days until our DREAM cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Speaking of buttons and nametags, I do believe that everyone who requested an image has now received them. If I missed anyone, please shoot me a PM.

Thanks!

Sandy:)

Thank you soooo much for doing this for everyone!!! You're AWESOME!!! :grouphug:

PS - did us CT folks mention that it's snowing. There, I said it - S N O W again!!! While I'm breaking in my brand new keen newport sandals today, I'm looking out my window at the 4 letter word! It's just not right!:headache:

PS - Thanks Deb, for sending the link to the navigators. At least while the kids have a S N O W day (or delay), I will be able to go to my happy place :cloud9: and highlight what I want to do on the navigators (since I won't be getting any work done while they are home!!)

You're welcome! :)

Just a reminder to the new cruisers that everything listed in the Navigator is always subject to change. :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing, but still nothing. I'm bummed, too, because I really want a brunch reservation and would gladly give up my Palo dinner to get one. Now I'll have to play the waiting game at port. I really don't want to start my vacation off standing in long lines, but c'est la vie.

 found a perfect solution how to deal with cold weather - SAUNA! :yay: nice and warm, with soft yellow ceiling light, which I imagined being warm Florida sun :cool2:, and soft ocean waves sounds CD, reading printed Deb's posts.......:cloud9:
Thanks again, Deb!

I have another newbie question if you don't mind, when do you usually start packing? I am afraid I am going to forget something. Also what is the weather usually like for this time of year? We are still dealing with snow here!

I've made ours into lanyards. I used photo laminating sheets, cut them out and will punch a hole in the top and afix to a lanyard. That's what dh and dd preferred.

I have my shoes out now....seems I'm taking too many pairs but it is what it is. Then, over the weekend, I'll start going through my warm weather clothes. Dd still has to start hers. Dh did his whilst looking for something else in the basement!!

So, packing will begin, in earnest, about a week before departure. Unfortunately, dd and I have a show the two weekends prior to departure..leaves me with 4 days to get everything together!! But, the piles will start cropping up soon!!

On another note...have any of you been onboard a cruise when there is a shuttle launch scheduled?? Seems to be one for the 19th, our CC day. Dh wondered if it was viewable from there. Just curious.

Looks like I'll be heading to AC Moore. I saw one at Michaels, but it just didn't seem like it wanted to remain closed. Hopefully I'll like the AC Moore buttons better.
