April 17, 2011 on the Dream

It really wasn't so bad - I am surprised they closed your schools; as a matter of fact, I just came back from CT (New Canaan, Darien), roads were very clean.:thumbsup2
We got a call at 5:42 AM :scared1: about 2 hours delay, which seemed appropriate but why could not they call a night before :confused3. DD ended up staying home bs I couldn't fit her delayed school start with my work and med appointment....:upsidedow
Now, please, please, please let them be wrong about NorEaster coming on Tue/Wend......:headache:
:grouphug: - together we stay strong, DREAMing and believing...:wizard:

Unfortunately when it comes to snow, Trumbull and Tashua, where I live, get a lot more than south of the Merritt, by a few inches, all the time. My sister lives in Westport and we are always amazed at the difference!

Stinks! :sad2:

we had our second snow day here in Mass. today. I live near the Cape so we haven't had as much snow as other parts of Mass. My husband owns a towing company so it has actually been a good winter for us. Every snow storm we have I can book another excursion! every snow day we have I keep busy on the boards learning all I can about the cruise!

So in other words... Our pain is your blessing! :rotfl:;):lmao::laughing:

Us too! Trumbull got about 5 inches but the sun was out by 9!

How old are your girls Robin?

I have a 5 year old and one who will be 8 in a month! Your kids? Rumor has it they are going to start taking days away from april vacation from us soon. My kids were already missing 4 days in addition to the 6 they had off. Plus we pulled them for 5 days in the fall for a disney trip. If they take away our april days that school is going to HATE me! :rolleyes1

Howdy neighbor! :wave2: Are you Bourne Bridge near the Cape or Sagamore? (Route 495 or Route 3)

We are way down the Cape in Eastham-Bayside.

The kids have been praying for Nauset Schools to appear on the school cancellation list :littleangel:, but Needham appears and their hopes are dashed. They've got a real attitude about the poor town of Needham now....and they've never even been there!:happytv:

We usually get socked with the Nor'easters, so Tuesday could generate a snow day for us. Unless.. the temperature is so low it can't snow!! Not sure if that's accurately true that it can be too cold to snow.

Do you know my son's shorts arrived the next day!:scared1:I ordered them around 12 noon from NJ and had them in my hands 2:45 the next day. Ground Shipping-I checked. UPS must have very little in the pipeline.

Thanks for the horns link! I've been watching the horn battle videos on youtube between the Magic, Wonder, and Dream. Get's me teary-eyed~

btw I've concluded my study of the best tanless products by finding the 'best tanless' list at sunless dot com lol. Jergens Natural glow, Ban de Soleil Mega Tan Dark (not actually sold as a sunless tanning product but apparently is) and L'Oreal Sublime gets high marks. I've tried the L'Oreal and was too orange to be impressed. My skin is dry as parchment right now anyway so I'm gonna try Jergens next.:rolleyes1

Every time it snows - I am afraid I would have to cancel an excursion :sad2:

I'm right there with you.

But for me, it means no shoping for souvenirs in the ship's stores or on Castaway. No beach towels to add to my collection. :guilty:

..can I be a triplet tan sister, please :cutie:

I need to order a Fish Extender. I thought I would be making one, but my crafty friend decided not to participate bs of airplane bags restrictions (she does not want to deal with shipping them and I totally understand). However, I wanted something more like custom made. And, o-boy, I only have 80+ days left

Any ideas/recommendations/good places to order from? Please let me know  :grouphug:

I've seen some beautiful FEs on ebay.com and etsy.com. Stitches and Bows makes them on etsy and Gradysmommy makes them on ebay. I think they are very reasonable as they are beautiful. I am not very crafty and by the time you buy all the stuff it seems as though you'd be spending just as much so that is probably the route I'm taking. Just search for fish extender on either site.

P.S Self tanners never work right on me no matter how good they are supposed to be or how careful I am putting them on. Unless it is very sunny and warm so that we get some pool time at Universal, I will be wearing my winter skin :scared1:

I live on 495 side, in Middleboro about 10 minutes from the Bourne bridge. We have only had two snow days so far, we are close enough to the Cape that we get a lot of rain too. My daughter actually takes gymnastics in pocasset so I cross that bridge at least 4 times a week. How old are your kids?

Its funny I heard on the news the other day that this snow is really taking a toll on the economy here. No one is going out to eat, shopping etc.. because of snow and now I am sure because of cold- below zero right now, I can feel it in my house! But there are people out there who are benefitting from this weather like us, plowers, body shops etc... while we really benefit from it even my husband came home on friday and said please, please, no more tows...I've never heard him say that! The phone rang 5 minutes later and is ringing right now as I type. :woohoo::woohoo:

I love the Jergens self tanner. :thumbsup2 It is very easy to apply and seems to be the only one that goes on without streaking. I use it every year around May/June to help my fair skin in the beginning summer months. I also think it is reasonably priced. I may have to go get a bottle today...Last night my father booked plane tickets for Connor and I to travel with my Mom and Asia to California over President's Day weekend. :cool1: My brother lives in the San Franciso area and they just had a baby! We are leaving DH again -hmmm, this is becoming a pattern! :rotfl2:

Another triplet or quad..... Whatever we would be. I have used the Jergens and it's Like a body lotion. It takes several days of use to really see some good color but it works most naturally, IMO. ;)

I'm jealous....I  San Fran.

We're heading down to National Harbor that weekend. We were thinking of going to Vegas but then my brother decided not to go and we thought we'd save lots of money and go someplace close to home.

Ok.....now it's snowing. I'm not sure why...I thought the big storm was on Tuesday, but it's like a blizzard out there now. :confused3

I'm gonna get my Jergen's supplies at BJ's in Feb. I usually do a big soaps, detergents, shampoo etc grocery shop after tax refund time. I buy for the whole year actually.

We're actually out of shampoo and conditioner right now and are using our Disney Cruise leftovers. My eldest DS is complaining about having to squeeze the little bottles. I told him it was a strategic move to get him excited about the trip. :rotfl: As usual, he's not thrilled. (I was NOT this grumpy as a teenager! I just wasn't!)

You know he still 'talks' to some of The Stack kids from our last cruise on facebook. They still talk about how much fun they had because of the Stack's counselor. I hope he moved to the Dream.

pershing, did you jinx yourself by talking about the snow earlier?

Just checked our weather and they are now calling for the snow to start on Wed. instead of Tues. if they are correct that gets rid of all my worries. :thumbsup2
