April 17, 2011 on the Dream

Bought a new bathing suit today. :scared1: Now I'm ready to ride the Aqua Duck! :cheer2:

I've been reading all the first-hand reports from the first cruisers and I am soooo ready to be on that ship! I saw a post where someone booked the MV TODAY! So, I tried again to talk DH into doing it, but for some reason :confused3 ($$$$ :rolleyes1) he won't agree to it. ;) Anyone want to go with me? :cool2: I can offer up that I'm Platinum so we'd get a Palo dinner for free! :woohoo: Hey, I've done crazier things than book a cruise two days out! :upsidedow :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: It would make facing a root canal tomorrow morning much, much easier!

ANTICIPATION

ANTICIPATION...is making me wait...(I dunno the rest) Deb, just keep saying its right around the corner! And live vicariously thru the trip reports.

Please don't mention bathingsuit! I'm in denial..la, la, la....I can't hear you....and I don't want to be disturbed from this state of mind.

Yes, I did jinx myself with the snow! We had 'ocean effect snow' this afternoon dumped 2 inches and disappeared. Luckily! :wizard:

I'm waiting on the bathing suit shopping LOL -- I have a few pounds to go (like 20 ). Seriously, I started weight watchers (again :headache:) and the new program is much better. I've lost 4.2lbs in 2 weeks.

I'm reading a little of the trip reports but kinda want to be a little surprised about some things like I won't watch the video of the fireworks show or sailaway, I don't want to know what the show in Animator's is like, or see any part of the new Believe show. On our Wonder cruise, I had studied that ship so much and had already watched the shows online -- took away a little of the magic IMO. Still was a fabulous cruise though. Tips about keeping singles in the room for room service, bringing a pillow case and sharpies for signatures, and stuff like that were priceless and greatly appreciated.

I've seen some beautiful FEs on ebay.com and etsy.com. Stitches and Bows makes them on etsy and Gradysmommy makes them on ebay. I think they are very reasonable as they are beautiful. I am not very crafty and by the time you buy all the stuff it seems as though you'd be spending just as much so that is probably the route I'm taking. Just search for fish extender on either site.

Thank you! I will check them out

Ps - were the boards down last night or was I losing it?
I had this problem too..... just when i started researching FE threads :rolleyes1

. My eldest DS is complaining about having to squeeze the little bottles. I told him it was a strategic move to get him excited about the trip.

I just used "search" option trying to find out what "MV" is :confused3 but no luck..."magic villas"? "Mommy's vacation"? "massage villa"?:cloud9:.

I could use any of the above options right now...:wizard: DH is taking DS back to his apartment right now :car: - back to college tomorrow; it is always sad when he leaves house :sad1: though he is only an hour and a half away....His B-day is on Wendsday and we are not even sure if we would be able to meet in the City for his B-day :sad2: We gave him a cake, just in case...

I am done with :laundy:, :stir: now back to :surfweb:

Did anybody read/heard of "Crazy Sexy Diet" book by Kris Carr??? It's not really a dieting book, but rather a lifestyle modification. I need to drop a few pounds before our cruising :rolleyes1, and it would be great to have somebody else doing "adventure cleanse" (giving up some kind of food that you like but not good for you for 21 days) I don't think I can do it by myself, need a support group :goodvibes :grouphug:

Sorry... I should have typed that out. I was referring to the Dream's Maiden Voyage - the one that leaves on Wednesday. It would be amazing to be on that sailing!

Thanks for the pep talk and the song. :goodvibes I'll be glad when Wednesday comes and goes because then there would be absolutely no chance for me to make it on that sailing! Until then, I have a little over 48 hours left to mope and whine and wish and dream. :littleangel:

I'm the complete and total opposite! :cool2: I want to know every little itty bitty detail so that I can be sure not to miss a thing while onboard. I want to know exactly where everything is so I don't have to take the time to search maps. I want to know how everything works (ie. new door locks, cabin electricity, the Enchanted Art, the Midship Detective Agency, etc.). I want to know what food options are available and where to find them. I want to know all the hints and little nuances that everyone else has already learned the hard way. When I'm being dragged back off that great big beautiful ship on the last morning, I want to know that I did it all! :goodvibes

I guess, I am somewhere "in between" - like Deb, I want to know every detail about how everything works, but, like Bridget, I don't want to see videos of shows to leave some room for surprises :cutie:
I was wondering:
I saw somebody mentioned that character dining was available and I saw Cinderella at RP during dinner. Did anybody learn anything else about it?
Also, I have been looking for pictures of menus and daily navigators, but so far I only so photos that were hard to read. If you see those, please post a link :grouphug:

Hate to tell you this but there is no way that you will be able to do it all on a 4 day cruise. There's too much to do and see on a big ship. After 11 cruises on the Magic/Wonder we've yet to do it all and keep saying next time we will do what we didn't get to do.

It's 8 degrees outside and I have to go out and start the car!!!! Pray for me!

The maiden voyage is so expensive. I would not enjoy myself knowing how much cheaper it would be later. That's just the way I'm built.

I've been wanting to read trip reports but I'm doing spring cleaning now as a promise to myself that if I get the house in order, I can disobsess closer to the trip.

I'm on the Jullian Michaels cleanse and detox thing so I can't do the crazysexy diet. Sorry.

Sounds like fun!

My treadmill and I are very close right now. I even dusted it!

Too funny LOL!!! Kids have a 90 min delay this morning cuz it's too cold :confused3 ??! Okay...

Have you ever tried a zumba class?? I have DVDs of every kind of workout -- the infomercial queen ;), but a live zumba class is a BLAST and very addicting. I have a hard time motivating myself to workout at home -- keep making excuses, but I zumba 3-4 times/week.

I wish it was 8 degrees...... it was 9 below zero when I took DS to school this morning!! Way too cold to be standing outside waiting for a school bus with minimal heat.

Howdy neighbor! :wave2: Are you Bourne Bridge near the Cape or Sagamore? (Route 495 or Route 3)

We are way down the Cape in Eastham-Bayside.

The kids have been praying for Nauset Schools to appear on the school cancellation list :littleangel:, but Needham appears and their hopes are dashed. They've got a real attitude about the poor town of Needham now....and they've never even been there!:happytv:

We usually get socked with the Nor'easters, so Tuesday could generate a snow day for us. Unless.. the temperature is so low it can't snow!! Not sure if that's accurately true that it can be too cold to snow.

Do you know my son's shorts arrived the next day!:scared1:I ordered them around 12 noon from NJ and had them in my hands 2:45 the next day. Ground Shipping-I checked. UPS must have very little in the pipeline.

Thanks for the horns link! I've been watching the horn battle videos on youtube between the Magic, Wonder, and Dream. Get's me teary-eyed~

btw I've concluded my study of the best tanless products by finding the 'best tanless' list at sunless dot com lol. Jergens Natural glow, Ban de Soleil Mega Tan Dark (not actually sold as a sunless tanning product but apparently is) and L'Oreal Sublime gets high marks. I've tried the L'Oreal and was too orange to be impressed. My skin is dry as parchment right now anyway so I'm gonna try Jergens next.:rolleyes1
You're in my all time favorite area of the Cape!! Love Eastham on the bay....my mother-in-law is in Osterville and for the life of her can't understand why anyone would want to go all that way to Eastham when they could be in Osterville!!!

7 below when I took dd to school here in Central Mass. Ungodly temps!!! Looks like time to start sorting through FE stuff. I keep buying stuff that looks like it might be good in a FE..now I have no idea what I have in all those bags!!!

Ahhhh yes. I'm in complete agreement. That's why we booked the 3-night cruise right after this one. :thumbsup2 Our very first B2B! :goodvibes It will give us seven magical days/nights to completely explore every inch of the new Dream!

We've found that after ten completed cruises on the Magic and Wonder (a total of 53 glorious days/nights) we had actually done and seen it all. And cherished every minute of it. I'll have to admit that we were like maniacs on the first 7 cruises, trying to get in as much as possible (yes, I'm a certifiable Type A personality). Then, by the 8th cruise, I found myself able to actually relax! For the first time, I was skipping things I'd already done/seen half a dozen times, such as the Sail Away party, karaoke night, game shows, bingo, even some shows and spa treatments. I spent more time on our verandah, just relaxing and reading and enjoying a little vacation time. :cloud9:

But, now I'm getting geared up to be a full-fledged maniac again! :rotfl2: I'm grateful my DH agreed to the B2B. He knows what he's in for, and still agreed to it! :rotfl: I'm really looking forward to doing everything twice in one week. :)

Hey all! Happy Monday!
It is cold here in Md. This morning the news was saying make sure kids bundle up - down to anywhere from 8 - 13 depending where you were. So what happens - drop my son off at his elementary school and I go to my middle school. The kids come in at 7:45...at 7:50 a **** student pulled the fire alarm. :scared1: Out we all went to stand in the freezing cold until 8:20am!!!! :sad2::sad2: Thank goodness I had not take off my coat or gloves from bus duty. There were kids outside with shortsleeves! Most everyone had their coats on though since it was during arrival time! The gym teachers were walking around outside in shorts and t-shirts!!! Finally got back in and the heat broke and it has been 60 degrees in my office all day. My fingers are numb!!! I am ready to go home - only two more hours.
DREAMing of Florida and the Carribean right now!!! :hippie:
Speaking of FE - I came up with a really good idea for the tweens/teens...I hope they think it is cool. I made it last night and then brought it in and explained it to some of my students and asked them what they thought...Their response - "That's tight!" Mrs. Guarniere. I think that means it is good! :woohoo:

This sounds likes us, we could finally relax and miss things we had done in the past and we found we didn't miss them. I guess that's the good thing about cruising so much, you can finally relax.

:thumbsup2 I still can't believe my DH agreed to it :woohoo: I tried to mention WDW for Thanksgiving, but got not a very good reaction :scared1: and decided to back off for now :lmao: P.S. DH is NOTa Dis fan...at all.....:sad2:pirate:

Deb :goodvibes

Our school had new fire alarms installed and we had about 10 fire alarms in late fall :scared1: triggered by extra-sensitive sensors. At that point DD was keeping her coat at her chair at all times. Seems like they fixed it (parents c/o a lot), but today i insisted to keep her coat and hat on her chair again. Now, that you posted it happened at your school, I am glad she took precautions, but feel so so so bad for those poor students and teachers :sad2:

I need to order a Fish Extender. I thought I would be making one, but my crafty friend decided not to participate bs of airplane bags restrictions (she does not want to deal with shipping them and I totally understand). However, I wanted something more like custom made. And, o-boy, I only have 80+ days left

Any ideas/recommendations/good places to order from? Please let me know  :grouphug:

Yelena,

I just made my very first FE ever (although I admit that I do know how to sew). If you have a sewing machine that can do a straight stitch, I can walk you through it. Then you can decorate however you like with non-sewing items.

Let me know if you need any help. Feel free to PM me.

Take care, E.

That's the thing - I don't have sewing machine...my friend who was considering joining FE has it and she knows how to sew well...but she will not be joining our FE exchange. I visited Michael's, but they don't carry anything Disney. I am in communication stages with "etsy"; hopefully, she will be able to make one....:worship:
I was reading FE threads on Saturday (I saw your posts there :thumbsup2), but then Disboards server stopped connecting :confused3
So great you were able to make your own!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I can't wait to see it!
