April 17, 2011 on the Dream

Help! I just read a post that said the FE's shouldnt be wider than 9 inches. My daughter poured her heart and soul into making ours it is beautiful but I just measured it and it is almost 12 inches wide. Do you think we can make this work or do I have to tell her to start over?

Don't worry, it should still work. :thumbsup2 At the very worst, it would just stick out from the wall a little bit. I've seen them all widths, and they all work fine. :)

To everyone with FE's: be sure to pick up some zip ties to fasten your FE to the fish/starfish/seahorse clip so that it doesn't "wander" during the cruise. They need to be around 10-12" long in order to leave a gap big enough to cut them off at the end of the cruise. The first time, I had shorter ones and just ended up connecting 3 of them together to make them longer. :upsidedow You can find them in any hardware store and some dollar stores. :flower3:

YOu are only able to prebook Palo once for each meal for each person. If you want to eat there a 2nd night you will have to check onboard and see if they can fit you in a second time or put you on a wait list.
:flower3: thank you! I understand why....Still hoping to book brunch once we are on board :wizard:

Hello
I need some help - hoping you all have the answers...
1) What is the deal with pictures onboard the ship? Is it worth it to purchases the picture package in advance? Is the package for the stateroom? I ask this since my parents/sis and my son and I are sharing a stateroom, can my mom and I split a package and still be able to pick different pictures. I am sure we will have some take together and seperately.
2) Should I even consider Palo's or will there be nothing left by Feb. 1st? Didn't think I wanted to spend the extra money but now would consider booking if my parents wanted to do it. What do the kids do for dinner?
3) We want to book the Blue Lagoon Dolphin encounter when we port in Nassau - do you think that will be still be available? I don't want to discuss with Connor if it isn't a possibility.

That's it for now...I think!!
Thanks for the help!
Debbie

I think can help a little. :) Typically, everything is charged to the stateroom. I believe that the statements show which Key to the World card charged what. So, the last night of the cruise, you and your parents can go to Guest Relations and tell them how much you each want to charge separately. (At least, that seems the easiest way to take care of combined billing.) You could also split a picture package easily this way, too, since the bigger packages work out cheaper per photo.
As for Palo's, I think you will be able to snag a ressie if you want one. If you can't get one before the cruise, you should be able to get one after boarding the ship. I believe your son and sister are in the club that counselors will take kids to eat as a group. If not, they can eat at one of the several free all-day counter service eateries by the pools (chicken strips, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, salads, paninis, etc.). Or, you can all still go to your regular dining rotation restaurant while the kids eat.

What do you think, east coast Disers, - delayed school opening tomorrow or extremely messy morning commute?!? or both?!? :headache:
DREAMing is my only rescue...:goodvibes

I saw Waterbury was already closed. I am thinking Trumbull will be as wel. I am watching channel 8 now...... Anybody get one of those roof rakes to scrape off all the snow and ice? :scared1:

It makes no sense to prepurchase the photo package, the price is the same onboard. It doesn't matter whose pictures you pick out and purchase with your package, they just cross off the credits as they are used. We shared a large package with our friends this past summer on a Baltics cruise. I just held the credit card and showed them that when we picked out the pics we wanted.

The kids could go to the club/lab for dinner, you could order them room service, go to the quick serve locations on the pool deck (check the Navigator for their operating times) or they could eat in the dining room by theirselves if you are all comfortable with that. Or other option would be to get a ressie for a time earlier or later than your dinner so you can take the kids to the dining room and then you eat in Palo - doing this option will result in possibly missing the show in the WD theater.
Or other option for Palo would be to try and snag a brunch ressie after you board so you won't miss dinner in the dining room.

Waterbury schools are already closed for tomorrow...

What a shock -ANOTHER snow day :headache::headache::crazy2:

Thanks to whoever posted that the Southwest flights had gone down.:worship: You saved me $310. I had booked a "anytime" flight for me and my DH for $355 each, the prices now for the "wanna get away" are $190,and since I booked the "anytime" flight I received a refund to my credit card instead of credits to use later. Today is a good day.

We had splurged for a stateroom with concierge service so we were able to book Palo brunch for our day at sea at 10am for us and the four adults that are traveling with us. They've never done the brunch and are super excited for it. But it pretty sad that it's all booked already..even Castaway Club memebers can't get any ressies. Here's hoping that there are lots of ressies to be had once on board.:thumbsup2

My flight have now gone UP 200$ I checked when i saw this.

Hello everyone! Where will you be three months from today? :cloud9: I tell you what, thinking of this vacation has gotten me through the winter. Every time it snows I just think of it as another day closer to spring....and our vacation.

I didn't rush to book Palo. My 8 year old will probably visit the clubs but the 2 year old....who knows. She's quite clingy when she wants to be, so we figured maybe next time when she's older, we might try it. I did, however, book parasailing at Castaway Cay for my husband. He will be there at 11am. He did this back in '07 also and absolutely loved it.

Our flights are finally booked. We went with Allegiant right before the holidays. Now that I see airfare prices for different airlines, I'm so glad we are booked already. Sheesh, how can anyone afford to fly with regular rates?!? With that finally behind me, now I'm looking for a decent car rental price so we can return the car at the port. I have a temp. reservation with Avis but of course that could change!

I think that was me! And your welcome! Someone on this thread alerted me to check southwest out of bdl, and I scored an awesome deal for spring break!

Another snow day here. At this rate it will be July before they are out.....

Snow day here in Annapolis, MD. Of course it doesn't look bad at all...wishing we had a two hour delay instead of the day off. It is our first snow day and we have three left, hope that gets us through the rest of the winter!
I may spend the day planning our trip or digital scrapbooking... Can't believe that three months from now we will be on the Dream!
Stay warm!!

We're flying out of PVD in Rhode Island, we usually fly from Logan in Boston, but Southwest is a lot cheaper than jetblue out of Logan. My nephew checked his Jetblue flights from logan and for four people prices whent up $1100. I was suprised to read that southwest dropped prices, but when I checked they certainly had.

Sorry your flights have'nt gone down as well.

It's raining here. Whew!

You Connecticut guys are just getting socked this year! Keep "Dreamin". It'll be over soon.

This past holiday weekend, I organized our non-winter clothes and assessed what we have:

1) The youngest DS has enough shorts, tshirts, and bathing suits to dress his entire grade! It's literally hand-me-down city with him!

2) The middle DS has just enough of everything if he doesn't have a growth spurt between now and April. (Gotta love those growth spurts, that conjure last minute shopping at expensive prices.)

3) The oldest DS does not have enough of anything and will only wear black (Black in Florida heat! He says yes. Ugh!) and is picky about clothes but will not try on anything. ('....not now Mom, later').

Does anyone know of any websites that are still having close out sales on men's (He's a big 16 yr old) shorts and bathing suits?

For myself, I have the clothes but not the thin-enough body to put in them. I'm still debating over buying another bathing suit.

Depressing thought! I think I'll go back to bidding for rental cars on priceline! :rolleyes1

Some stores already have bathing suits out -- Target is one -- and I'm sure that shorts and other summer wear are just around the corner, def in plenty of time for April. They really come out earlier and earlier -- I did pick up the cover up I needed though ;).

A question for you and your DH::confused:
Where do they do parasailing: near the ship or in a bay/ lagoon? I booked it too for all three of us for the first part of our cruise (11 am as well:thumbsup2), but I am a little concerned about being on a small boat for 45 min if waters are choppy

I am sure your DS is very happy , K was hoping for schools closing until I told her " Get in a car!" Very messy roads :scared1: but not too bad except for when I got totally freaked out driving down an icy heel -:scared1::eek: I was rescued by a very nice man (client's parent), He got in my car and got it to the bottom of the heel :woohoo:, I think he got scared I would have to stay in their house :lmao:, I was very serious when I told them that I was not getting behind of the wheel until ice melts

Last week I got new swimsuits for DD at Justice taking 40% off with the coupon; GAP has been running 30-40-50 % sales this yr as never before - they might have early sales for young man clothes :cool1:

Lands end online always has good sales.

Please oh please oh please let there be school tomorrow. Especially since there is another storm coming Friday. My windows ar all leaking!!! I c a n n o t take it anymore!! :scared1: :crazy2::sad:
