I was able to access the almost 500 pictures posted to Picasa...incredible! I was so excited looking at the pictures - can't wait to go.
I am on my way out of work - 2 hr early dismissal for our county schools and it hasn't started to snow yet!! Love it!! We aren't expecting much here...so I guess I can like the forecast! I know those of you North of Baltimore are getting tired of all the snow!! My son is so upset with our little inches of snow - he remembers all the snow we got last year and wants to know why we aren't getting the feet of snow like we are suppose to!!

What county are you in? I'm home with my youngest who's sick. We're in Montgomery and I keep hearing various reports as to actual accumulation. After the last big "storm" which blew right past us. I'm not sure what to expect.

I'll warn you that I do have two boys (11 and 7) who have relatively good table manners, but boys can be boys at times.

Honestly, I'm told they are very well-behaved, especially since we're on vacation and the negotiating surrounding the amount of dinner consumed prior to dessert taking place will be moot.

If you're dining with younger boys, too, send me a PM. I'll be so excited to have dinner conversation that does not revolve around legos!

golfnsuch, my son is going to be nine and is a Lego maniac. My daughter may feel left out, though. I would take you up on it the very nice offer of table mates, but need to get through the final payment time and see where we are and what we are doing. We have asked to be moved to early dining from Main.

I could be wrong...but I believe that the Main seating is the early seating. The later seating is the "late seating" and not the "Main seating".

You are correct! Main dining is the earlier seating and then there's "late" dining.

We have just received a call "snow emergency in effect....public schools closed"; we are expecting 8-20 inches of snow . This is the third one in three weeks.....There are still piles of ice on roads blocking parking spots (and my job requires traveling from one place to another, thus looking for parking at least 10 times a day ). DREAMing helps so much: after looking at those pictures on Picasa and reading TR, I had the most beautiful dream - we were on a cruise and everything was so beautiful....

1. what's with the wave phones? Sounds so great. We usually bring walkie talkies but it sounds like we wouldn't have to do this, correct?

I have heard that you could get additional phones (if you need more than two) for $30/cruise

2. I forget what you guys told me in the past - on the 4 night cruise, is one night going to be "formal"? I think the answer was yes, and oh now I remember, we dont have to be very dressy, but sandals, sundress.... ok, it's coming back now...

I like to dress up (and to dress up my family); feels great and a good opportunity for pictures

3. What's the deal with bringing water bottles on the boat? I've read different stories....

because I prefer bottled water, we always bring 1.5 L bottles water (as many as we can fit in a small suitcase) and refill smaller size bottles as needed. We use the same suitcase for souvenirs (FE gifts this yr? )



that's it for now but since I'll be SNOWED IN AGAIN on Wednedsday, I'm sure I'll think of more while looking at the 4 walls!
me too Let's hope its not as bad as they are predicting....

I have a question for all of you experienced cruisers. I am getting very close to the date I can book excursions. My question is I have two connecting rooms on board. Do I have to make seperate reservations for each room? my daughter and her Dad want to swim with the stingrays but they are in different cabins, how do I book that?

When you log in to book the excursions you should be able to see everyone's name and book accordingly. We had 2 cabins this past summer, friends in 1 us in the other, and I was able to book everything for them at 90 days out. It didn't matter who's name was on which cabin, all names just popped up and I just had to check off the name for the reservation.
Hope that makes sense.


We got about 6 inches of snow and there's no school. DD is upset about it since that messed up their exam schedule and now instead of having off school on Friday they are doing a half day for the exams and then they are giving them off on Tuesday. I'd have been most upset if I had made plans to go away for the long weekend and then to wake up this morning to find out school had totally changed the schedule due to the snow. I still don't understand why they did that and just didn't make next Tues. the other exam day.

jilljill, I work at a high school and my thought is they didnt want to wait until after a long weekend for kids to take exams, they forget too much stuff. I can see your point though, it does stink for anyone with long weekend plans. Thanks for the information on booking excursions.

I'm not kidding - we got another 28 inches here in Trumbull (CT). Thank goodness all those Dream TR's and photos came out which I think saved me from really going 's!

PLUS - they declared tomorrow another snow day for the schools because the roads are not cleared yet.

Please dear , give me strength.....

I haven't been around for awhile, requiring me to spend lots of time catching up! There are quite a few families from Connecticut. We are another, from Oxford. The snow certainly is out of control! Although, these snow days are allowing for more time to obsess over the trip! Who can complain about that???

There are a lot of us and if you think about it, it feels like all of us who talk regularly are on the East Coast. I don't recall seeing a single Diser from CA or even West of Ohio for that matter.
