April 17, 2011 on the Dream

Dear Deb,

Please add us me (Donna), DH (Angelo), and DD (Gabby) (13 when we cruise) to the FE list please.

Sent you a private message with stateroom.

Thank you :flower3:

Can't wait for the Dream.

Hello everyone. Sorry, I've been MIA lately just too much planning for the wonderful MED we just got off!!! It truly was AWESOME!!! and we all had a GREAT time. I'm now all full steam ahead for this sailing. If anyone has any questions about the Med, please ask!

Lori - I don't have a cruise thread anymore and I'm sad...I'm just going to have to write on yours....:)

Mindy, maybe you'll post enough that Susan and I can convince you to join us!!!!!!

JIm actually checked he said nothing would come up for that date...in addition, that's the week we promised my inlaws we would come to AZ to visit...Jim has already put in the interval request to exchange our time share. We haven't been to AZ (me 3 years) jim and the kids 2 years.

Dear Cliffside,

Ness2289 is keeping the running list of who would like to take part in the meet on the 04/17/11 Dream cruise.

Deb T. is keeping the disers who would like to take part in the FE.

Hope this helps.

Hello!
We are back from our road trip (though our DD is still on vacation in Poconos with my best friend). Crazy week catching up at work and moving our DS to HIS apartment in Brooklyn (he prefers apartment over dorm :scared1:). Finally, I can catch up on our wonderful and busy board :thumbsup2. Missed you guys! :) :grouphug:

D In fact, one policeman in NC just stood and laughed at us as we passed him along I-95. He was standing outside his car running radar and when he saw us in the Mini speeding along he just laughed and shook his head.

Would be great if they all reacted that way. Last time we drove (spring break 2010) to Ft. Lauderdale, we were doing so good avoiding a ticket, until we got to FL. I got some info on road construction at FL welcome center and was reading it. Then lifted my head up and saw a cop driving behind us - my DH was driving through their first road work zone but kept driving....way too fast. The cop was "nice" enough to give us a ticket for "only $200" instead of $450 :scared1:

::yes:: I live in VA, and agree 100%. We aren't allowed to have radar detectors, so you must be careful! Whenever we drive to NC it's always comical to cross the state line when coming home. Welcome to Virginia! Then the signs "speed limit enforced by aircraft, no littering, no radar detectors," blah, blah blah. Quite a slap in the face I think, from welcoming to "here are the rules, now behave yourself!" ;)

:lmao:
We always take off our radar off when we enter VA. However, I am not sure speed radars work. I think they just warn you when you are about to get a ticket :lmao:

Love the tween board... sshhhh... Gabby and Jake are just too cute. Still trying to get Matti to post there!!!

Me too :thumbsup2. I am as excited as Katya to see if anybody replied to her post. They are all so cute!

I also do yearly books for the kids and of course I am behind. I am also working on a recipe book of all my mom's recipes for all my family to have.

Amy - I love your photobooks. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
I am a camera addict too. I am still working on my spring break 9 days cruise, but I am using Snapfish. I think, I will try shutterfly for our August vacation. I also make "movies"/slideshow: put pictures, videos, and music together. Then my DH converts it somehow to DVD format and we love to watch it over and over on TV.

It seems that you may spend your vacations they same way I do; behind the lense of a camera.
Donna

:thumbsup2 Donna, I love how you describe it "behind the lense of a camera", totally me :lmao:

Hi Yelena,

When you click on REGISTER and enter Katya's birthday it will let you know that she is under 13 and you need to print out a form, sign it, return it by mail, email, or fax. If she doesn't mind using yours then you don't have to. That's how my Gabby and svcutler's Jacob started. It takes a few days to get the okay back from DIS.

Hope that helps.

Donna :thumbsup2

Donna,
thank you for the info. Really silly question: how do I get to "register" page.:confused3
I looked everywhere on top of tweens board and did not see it. Katya has been posting under my name, but we are back home now and I wanted to send the form for Dis- approval.

eye popping news... I just have to share with someone:eek: We listed my moms house and it went up yesterday. We have an offer already, right about where we listed it :scared1: I can't believe it. I have three brothers so it isnt' a ton of money, but wow... guess I have some mickey money for some future trips :cool1: Had to share my excitement with someone! :grouphug:

Congratulations! It is a great news!

Count us in!!!!!!!
Welcome! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yelena,

How I found it was from the main DISBoards page. There's a link TECHNICAL SUPPORT. I clicked that and then there's a link that says REGISTRATION PROBLEMS and that is how I found this support@wdwinfo.com . This is where I sent an email message explaining my problem and I attached Gabby's form that I had scanned to my computer.

I hope this helps Katya get her sign on. :)

Hi Yelena,

I don't usually leave my room, whether WDW or Stateroom, without my backpack w/ camera and emergency "stuff" like ponchos, bandaids, travel sewing kit, etc. in it. I try to adhere to the boy scout motto of "be prepared". My philosophy is that I can't just go back to the room when in WDW and go get it and that the moments can't be replaced. So no matter if I'm in "my Sunday best" or my shorts and t-shirt. Have camera will travel. I have come home from 8 day/ 7 night WDW with over 800 photos (yeh digital storage :cheer2:). So, sometimes, unfortunately, the pictures and videos are my mental refresher for some of those whirlwind moments. Got bummed last cruise. Decorated stateroom door and from the moment I finished it I never stopped to take a picture of the door and my FE holder :sad2: ; there was always someplace/something to get to. That first day was go to room, put down "stuff", eat lunch, decorate door, safety drill, deck party, and then quick shower/change for dinner and show. After that, I totally ditzed about the photo of the door. Because I put our name on the decorations, they were a great help to make the door stand out and to find "our home away from home".

I have vowed this cruise to rectify that.

Only 800????:rotfl: :thumbsup2
Our last cruise we came back with way more than 1000 (that's why I am still working on my photobook - takes too much time to select my favorites )
Donna - we have relatively short drive tomorrow compare to WDW drive, but I just finished packing "the essentials", so I am with you 100% on "be prepared" motto; my kids and DH used to make fun of me, but after realizing that they needed to use things from that "essentials" bag on our previous trips, they mostly appreciate it now (but, of course, would not stop joking on my expense :rolleyes1. ;)
I understand your disappointment about the missed picture of your decorated door :headache:. I made a mental note to remind you to do it this time and to take a picture of your door, just in case.... :goodvibes

On that note: we just got a program of projects Katya would be doing in her art class. Unfortunately, they will NOT be doing FE :sad2:. Ideas anybody? :surfweb:

Donna - do I need to use a different computer? :confused3 When I click on "register" it says " you have already registered as alenushka"...Thank you for your tips.:flower3:

PS: I got it! I just had to log out first :rotfl:

Hey guys. Well I crazily booked 4 nights in WDW in January this morning.:confused3 I still have tickets left from previous nonexpiring tickets. I am afraid their teachers will frown on me though, even though they will only miss one day of school and it would happen to be just the first day of the third semester. So the trip is not written in stone, no airfare purchased. We are all just missing Mickey Mouse, we have gone to WDW every November. Since we are doing the B2B cruises next April, we were skipping WDW this November and I replaced it with a weekend in NYC(only missing one afternoon of school). I know I am spoiled:laughing: so we will see if I keep this reservation or cancel. Ho hum!!

Still haven't convinced Matti to post on the tween board. Maybe as it gets closer. The first two weeks of school were tough on her. She has a teacher who has a strong russian accent and she thinks the teacher is always yelling at them(even though I think that it is her normal tone)

Wow, we have lots of crazy camera people here. My hubby took our computer in for back up to the tech guy at school and I had 17,000 photos on it. :scared1: He could not believe it!! haha

Happy Labor Day weekend to everyone!

Ok, you camera savvy people put me to shame ! I always tend to forget the camera. I love pictures everyone else takes but hate doing it myself. I'll have to do better I think :goodvibes

Thanks again Ness for keeping the 'list' going! :) Did you ever think it would hit 48 families, nevermind how many people that is. Yikes!

We are all just missing Mickey Mouse, we have gone to WDW every November.

:sad1: We are missing WDW too! We skipped 2009 and are feeling it. Normally the kids can't stand my questions and incessant WDW planning. Lately, they are asking me questions like....can we do this or that this time?
Have you ever done January before? We did in 2005 I think. It was strange how empty the parks were. We went to Blizzard Beach, cause we swim in cold water in the spring and fall so it was fine, and we were 4 of 9 people in the water park. Very weird, but great for getting on all the rides.

Still haven't convinced Matti to post on the tween board. Maybe as it gets closer. The first two weeks of school were tough on her. She has a teacher who has a strong russian accent and she thinks the teacher is always yelling at them(even though I think that it is her normal tone)

That's too bad. Hope she's doing better.

You know it sounds like a girl my son knows who is considered to have heightened senses not be sensitive like 'he's sooo sensitive' actually have senses that are turned up a little higher than most people so that new and changing situations can be startling for her and makes her anxious. She, too, thought a teacher was yelling at her. That's what reminded me of her and the shy tendencies with the clubs that you mentioned before.

The school does things like bring her into her new classrooms before school begins so she can walk around while they are empty. And she meets her teachers then, so she can talk to them and get to know them before the class is filled and noisy. They do likes of stuff like that.

I'm with you bdink. I only take iphone pictures now as I have digital pictures galore on various disks I've done nothing with since.

Now I just use my iphone when I feel like it and plop the pictures on snapfish after we're home. I figure after the kids are grown and gone, going through them will keep me busy. :laundy:

No we have never gone in January, but the week we go in November, the park is very quiet. It is in between Jersey week and Thanksgiving(shhh... suppose to be my secret, haha). I am thinking today, what did I do... then in another voice, I think, room cost(there is 25% off and since we were just going for the weekend was just going to try pop, even though we are used to deluxe) and flights will be right around $1,000 total, already have tickets so just need food and we are good at sharing on that department.... so guess I will just hang onto the room for a bit, watch for some airfare sales and keep my fingers crossed. Sometimes I just feel a little guilty for splurging, although I am not sure why. We worked hard to get to the financial state we are in and I really spend very little money. I dont' wear fancy clothes, hardly even any makeup and I have never had a manicure or pedicure in my life! :scared1:

Thanks for that info on the sensitivity, I am going to look into that a bit more. Yes, we know matti has some anxiety issues that are likely going to need some intervention soon if they don't impove, you may have provided some great insight for me! Thank you!! thank you!! (ps. dh just walked in and found that comment about the heightened senses very interesting too. If wonder if there is actually a name for it ??? very interesting )

Ate too much at my labor day picnic, how bout you guys? anyone want to lose 15 lbs before the cruise??? maybe we could push each other!!
