April 17, 2011 on the Dream

I see. So since I'm putting in one adult and one 11 year old, there is no availability due to DD's age. Interesting... I sure hope we get tagged by the random upgrade fairy. Our deluxe family oceanview stateroom holds up to 5 people. The verandah rooms hold fewer. We'd be glad to move.

Since there's no availability for parties of 4 or 5 right now I don't see that happening, unless many people cancel between now and then. In addition to the kids club limits, there are life boats limits as well.
Keep in mind there are the family verandah rooms that hold 5 and they are still available, although you can only book 3 people in them right now.

pixiedust: Here's some pixie dust to encourage that random upgrade fairy for you! :goodvibes

Hey guys... I'm back.... at least trying to hang in there

Was able to tell hubby how much I saved him again. :lmao: The cheapest room I can find right now is $2000! more than I paid back in January. Also glad I got first seating for dinner. We eat so early at home(4pm-430) so even waiting till 6pm was a struggle for us last time  With the cruise this booked, I doubt I would have gotten moved up to first had I been on second waitlist. I am actually hoping someone else gets an upgrade and they are able to put me in the same stateroom for our back to back(going on the three night 4/14 before this one). We got upgraded to a verandah last time and although it was nice, we hardly had any time to spend on it and I didn't feel it was worth the extra money this cruise. There is just myself and my two girls though, so room isn't a huge deal for us.

:eeyore:Scootch,
My sympathies to you and your family. May you have a nice Mother's Day tomorrow. I am sure that your Mom will be there watching over you. May god give you peace and grace to handle your loss.

I just checked for 2 people and it comes up, but only for cat. 4A-5D and cat. V. I also get the same availability when checking for 2 adults and 1 teen.
When I put in 2 adults and 1 9yo nothing comes up, the same when I put in 2 adults and 1 11yo.
It then shows back up when putting in 2 adults and 1 2yo.
There was no availability for parties of 4, no matter the age.

This cruise is definately filled up with the younger kids and they have reached capacity for those ages.

I had asked that question when we booked a few weeks ago. They said if you child's age group books up in then they will not allow you to book; even if your child says that they do not want to go to the club. I guess it is precautionary.

You guys are great!! I feel like I have known you forever. Since I am blessed to have 2 beautiful girls, going to have fun letting them pamper mommy tomorrow. Must tell you about last years mother's day. My youngest woke me and said ... and I quote.... "today is the day all your dreams will come true!" Her reasoning, she bought me topsy turvy and aqua globes. The infomercial queen! No wonder my mom always called her "adorable"! Happy Mother's Day to everyone. :flower3:

Happy Mother's Day to everyone. :flower3:

Happy Mother's Day to you too, Scootch! My condolences...and thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

...and Happy Mother's to all the other mothers also. :tink: Here's some virtual chocolate for you:

I have double duty on Mother's Day as I have 2 mothers-I was adopted at one month, so there's my mom and my biological mother who found me when I was 34 year's old!:scared1: (too much info, I know, but buying presents for Mother's Day has turned into a stressful event for me.)

Wow! Our cruise list has gotten very long. I guess they will be longer now with the Dream. ;) Looks like my friend and her son has no chance of joining us now as no 11 cat. will be available or it will be a miracle if I nab one around cancellation time.

It may be good news for us as we have a 10A guarantee. :cheer2: What the heck will Disney do with us now? Probably make 2 families happy by upgrading someone from cat. 9 or 8 who weren't expecting it and giving us a little upgrade. Seems like alot of extra work for DCL.

Do you realize we are over 130 people, I think (counted quickly). Any ideas where our cruise meet should be? Kinda hard to pick a place when the ship is new. I know not everybody shows up, but if even half the people show up, we need some serious space-ige!

Over my past cruises, we had various successes with cruise meets. The most successful one was in the front part of Topsiders right around 5 o'clock on departure day. The second most successful one was an impromptu one in the terminal, 'cause so many of us showed up early.:rolleyes1 Of course!

I haven't posted in awhile, so I want to :welcome: all the new people to this cruise thread. This is the cruise to be on for Easter Vacation apparently. It seems Disney miscalculation is our gain 'cause they had the normal price jump for Easter week and not this week. That's not so booked up at all.

Oh yum!!! That would be a perfect Mother's Day gift for me.
Was just on the Cape yesterday, taking Grammie out to dinner. Nice to see so many from Mass here.

My girls and I are heading for a little weekend trip to Washington DC. My brother teaches 8th grade math and they are taking charter bus trip there this weekend. He invited us to go along, I get to go free...:cool1: and the girls have never been there, so after asking their teachers about missing another half day(they have already missed for disney in November and a family wedding in Atlanta in Dec), we are going to take my brother up on the offer. Figured we can use the diversion and it is suppose to be beautiful weather there this weekend. My girls say my middle name is VACATION :rotfl:

Hi guys!!!! Sorry been so long!

Wanted to let you all know I booked my airfare already!!!!

Best deal of my life!!!! And for all you MA people, you too can get a goood deal, maybe not as good as mine, but still pretty good to fly down.

Direct Air out of Worcester flies into Sanford and they are running a 50% off sale right now on their flights. These are limited, but they do have one that comes in on the 14th!

I had bought their family ties vouchers, which entitles you to $149 round trip to anywhere they fly fully transferrable (unheard of in the airline industry).

I just cashed in the vouchers for April -they're booking through the end of Aprill 2011 right now - and my total round trip cost will be $599!!!!! For the four of us!!!!!

OMG!!! :cool1:

Just had to share! :goodvibes

I am headed to Florida for a girls weekend next week to get a little fix in prior to this, because my next vacation is not until this cruise. :guilty:

:cutie:Ohhhhh, I just went back reading, and I am sooo sorry Amy! That is a very hard period of everyone's lives. I too have lost a parent about 6 years ago, and I know the numbness, and the shock, and the pain.

Take care..

DIANE!!!!!!!!!!!!! (goofy4tink) I am soooooooo excited we will be actually cruising together!!!!!!!

OMG!!!! This cruise roster keeps getting better and better!!!!!!!

Diane, be sure to see my last post!!!! Seriously awesome deals to be had outta our backyard!!!

I know!!! I saw your name listed and just got so excited!! Someone I actually know!
Ahh, I booked DirectAir on May 5!!! All three of us, $649!! I am thrilled. We fly down on April 14, home on the 23rd. Trying to figure out how to spend the days before and after the cruise...what a problem to have.

I'm just hoping that there are going to be some 16 and 17 y/o girls in our grouping. DD will have more fun that way.

My DD will be 16, almost 17, on this sailing. She can always make friends wherever she goes. She looking forward to the new teen club, maybe she will actually stay in there since she doesn't like the Stack or Aloft.

Great news. My dd will be 17 1/2 by the time we sail. She liked the teen club on the Wonder when she first cruised but she was almost 14 then, and not very sure of herself around the 'older' kids. She is going to be thrilled there are some other older girls on this cruise.

Yeah, she's pretty thrilled. Small bird told me.
