April 17, 2011 on the Dream

Yeah, she's pretty thrilled. Small bird told me.
Tweet, tweet!!! Maybe those teenagers that are going on the cruise can start 'chatting' with each other via a teen thread somewhere..maybe even here. Would be nice if you all kind of 'knew' each other before boarding.

Yesterday I reserved 4/14 to 4/17 at AKV Kidani 2BR Std. view.

This means 11 months to go. :cheer2:

Congrats! I'm trying to rent 43 points for a value studio myself for the same days on the rental board and the going is tough! I can't afford Dave's 13/a point right now, so it looks like we'll be saving more and renting whatever's left at 7 months. :confused3 I can't do the value resorts anymore, I just can't. :dance3:

Castlegazer Thank you for the tip. I looked at Directair and the prices were pretty decent. I'm still hoping Southwest is decent also though as I just earned my first $50 gift certificate for it at Swagbucks! Woohoo! I'm hoping to earn at least 3 more before December.

I like flying out of Providence, but Boston's fare's for Southwest has been lower lately on comparison. I'm not sure if that's a trend that will continue.

Just a reminder that I always forget: you need to buy travel insurance within 14 days of purchasing airfare for it to be covered for strikes and stuff like pre-existing conditions. My youngest is a diabetic and I always forget and then regret it!:headache:

It's exciting to be making reservations already. I've been on Budget all day making back-up rental car ressies. I do that and then bid on priceline before the trip. Priceline has always come thru for me so I don't know why I do it anymore.

Pershing,
Hello from Cranston, RI!! DVC member. I now $13 per pt rental is alot, but DVC's rental to its members who need extras is $15.00 per point. I checked into it in case I need to rent them to book at BLT after the cruise.

Speaking of Southwest I wonder when they are opening April 2011.

Hello Neighbor!

$15 per point! Cripes! No wonder the DVC owners transfer their leftover points to each other in the rental area of the boards!

But it seems to me DVC owners transfer points to each other for much cheaper than they rent them-like around $8 or even $6, I've seen. There's been many 'For Transfer Only' threads so I thought maybe adding points were cheap.

Speaking of Southwest I wonder when they are opening April 2011.

It's usually posted by someone on the transportation board. Historically, it's been around the 8th or 9th of December around 10 in the morning with a DING!

Hi there Cranston!!! Not so far from us in Central Mass.

I'll be staying over in Cocoa Beach before the cruise, but at BWV after...flying home on the 24th.
I wonder how many of us are going to be flying out of Worcester on the 14th?? Or back home on the 24th.

Dear Fellow New Englanders,

On Southwest under Travel Tools it is posted that they are scheduled to open on June 15th the travel dates up to mid January.

We usually fly out of TF Green because we are so close. Trying to get resies at 11 months out at Bay Lake. We just picked up 50 points specifically for this type of situation were we are either going to spend a day before or a few days after cruising and don't want to rent a car NOR want to use the bus system. (Yeah monorail).

Dear LOVEXKATE, Miss David Tenant and "The Donna".

Have you ever left your car in lot E before for over a week? 'Cause the TF Green website says 11 per day 55 weekly. Mine would be 10 days so I'm assuming I'd get the weekly rate plus 3 days. That's pretty reasonable, actually.

What's unreasonable would be Hard Rock Hotel at $354 a night already for obstructed view. This rate's going up on the 22nd. We were thinking about staying there but I'd rather do Double Tree at the entrance with all access passes. After the cruise, I'm not sure the kids would appreciate Hard Rock anyway.

Dear Pershing,

We live about 15 min. from TF Green. I am very fortunate that my parents have been able to bring us to the airport so I have never had to leave my car.

We've never stayed off property at WDW even before being DVC members. Our love of all things Disney is why I chose my sign on allaboutdisney; because it is just ALL ABOUT THE DISNEY :goodvibes with us.

Has anyone heard if someone has thought of a gathering place/meet on the cruise. On our Wonder Cruise 09/27/09 we took part in the FE and participants were suppose to meet in one of the lounges and unfortunately only a few people ended up showing up :sad2: . I was more bummed for my daughter who was psyched out to meet some of the kids her age. It is tough being an only child. That's why I hope there are DISers with Tweens that want to try and chat before the cruise so that they can get at ease with one another.

15 minutes WOW! For me there are 2 ways to get there from the Cape: Rt 195 thru Bedford, Fall River, and Providence or going 495 to 95 and taking exit ??4?? I wanna say. People swear by the second way, but I've only done the first way.

As far as the Cruise Meet, there are more lounge like areas on the Dream. It's just difficult to say if they'll be open at the time we choose. I wonder if the inaugural cruise diser's have chosen a spot yet? Actually, that would be a good poll thread for the cruise board.

Our group just met up by the goofy pool and had a very good response. I think it was about 2-3pm which worked out wonderfully as the kids just got in the pool and the adults could all mingle. It was a chilly day though, so maybe that is why the area worked out, there were not a ton in the pool at the time.

Back from our DC vacation, great BUSY weekend, but had beautiful weather, mid 70's and low humidity for our longest walking day of Saturday which worked out really well. Fun trip!

Love the new dream pic.... :)

I wish I could fly out on the 14th, but that is the day our first leg of the B2B cruises leaves. So we need to fly out the Sunday prior to that, which hauls my son out of school for 5 days. I am nt sure this is going to work, but for now it's what is booked. We come back the following Saturday.

We are B2B on the 14th 3night/17th 4 night too! I didn't realize there was another dis'er doing the 3 night then 4 night B2B. So far I haven't been able to get the same room numbers though. The room right next door is open, so I may change to it. Then part of me says if I am packing anyhow, maybe enjoy different areas of the ship. For the 3 night, I currently have aft(which we liked very much on the Wonder) and for the 4 night, I am midship. Thinking the midship room is probably the better of the two and wanting to stay in that room.

I wanted to do US/IoA after the cruise as well..but not at the prices US wants for it's resort rooms. I had considered paying for HRC for one night...Thursday off the boat..and then having FoTL ability but I'm just not sure it's going to be worth it. Ah well...decisions, decisions.

Sorry guys that I've been MIA... I'm just tied up in our summer plans right now. We're going on the Aug 18th Med sailing and I've been thinking about that one right now.

:scared1: Yikes! We were hoping to do HRH for 3 nights after the cruise. We need 2 rooms to fit us all. That's way beyond the budget. Offsite is looking likely.

Do you think US/IoA will be really crowded since its Easter weekend? I thought less so than WDW, but I'm not sure with Harry Potter.

I'm jealous! You must be getting very excited. Please post your review when you return. If this 4 day works out well for us, I'm going to push for the med in 2012.
