April 17, 2011 on the Dream

Sickness in our house too. I am suffering from another sinus infection. DH had a stomach virus yesterday.

I got an email from DCL this morning.... a reservation conformation? Im unsure why they sent it today, I havent done anything to my reservation in a while (since I checked us in). Anyone else get anything? Everything looks correct on it, but I couldnt quite figure out why it was sent?

Hoping we are all healthy as we have tickets to go see Mary Poppins in NYC tomorrow night. Keep your fingers crossed!

Unfortunately, it seems like our DD got flu... :sad2:
Priority list: #1 only: to help her to get better.....

Hope K. is feeling better!! Sending get well wishes.
Loving the warmer weather. I am leaving for California on Friday morning - it is suppose to be sunny and almost 70 here...however, the weather forecast for San Francisco is horrible - rainy, high 50's! I thought it was suppose to be warmer and sunnier in California.

My top five list...
1) Aquaduck
2) all the restaurants
3) shows, characters, just the disney experiences
4) shopping for DCL merchandise (to add to all my WDW stuff)
5) FE - never done anything like this so I'm really excited about it...

There is so much more but since I have never cruised before I am overwhelmed with all the info and possible experiences!

Debbie :goodvibes

I know this is going to sound lame, but does anybody have the particulars of the Nassua day itinerary. I can't locate it on my reservation and just want to know the expected arrival and departure port times.

Thanks! E.

Had my resi on the screen checking to see if DCL has gotten around to assigning me a room (not yet ) so I am able to answer your Nassau question...

Looks like we are in port from 9:30 am to 6pm.

I am so sorry to hear that she is sick. I wish her a speedy recovery!:flower3:

 Hope she's better soon. There is a lot of crud going around everywhere it seems. Time to drag out the Lysol and Clorox!

Thank you all for get well wishes, I passed them along and K. and she asked to say "Thank you!".:grouphug:
I wish I could say she feels better, but it is actually worse (she is sleeping right now and stubborn fever does not want to get down). It's been 3 or 4 yrs since she last had it; flu sucks :headache:. Lysol is surely at work here.
Robin - I hope you all feel better and get to see the show tomorrow, it's a really good one. I keep getting my confirmations too and I don't understand why :confused3. We are linked with our friends - may be we get it every time one of them makes new reservations/changes to existing reservations? Is yours linked with anybody else's?

Well I missed a lot while I was gone. I just can't seem to find the time to log on lately. I am sure I will catch up with all the posts next week during vacation! I do see lists of our top things we are looking forward to so:

1. relaxing with an umbrella drink in my hand

2. going to Castaway Cay since last time I cruised the weather was to crappy to dock

3. eating at all the restaurants

4. watching the shows with my family

5.parasailing?? I am scared to do it but I promised my 8 year old she could go- that was before I found out she had to be with someone over 18!

Sorry to hear Katya is not feeling well :sad1:. Sending her warm wishes for a speedy recovery :thumbsup2

My top 5 are:
1. Castaway Cay
2. Dinner at Palo -- love the panna cotta :goodvibes
3. Seeing the shows with the family
4. Aquaduck (day and night :thumbsup2)
5. Finally a little me time at Quiet Cove -- no telephone, no computer, no work, no on call beeper...

3. Being able to tell everyone on board we get to get right back on the Dream while they have to go home, except for Deb T. :):

Lovin' it! :thumbsup2

Please be sure she's drinking a lot of fluids. Dehydration is a serious risk during the flu. Popsicles are also good for helping with a fever - sort of cools ya from the inside. Please keep us posted on how she's doing. We're all hoping she is better soon!

Dr. Deb says fluids for you both, too! [I'm not a real doctor... just a worrywart who knows first-hand about the severe consequences of dehydration.]

No extra or random reservation confirmations here. In fact, despite signing up multiple times for DCL emails, I NEVER get any. :sad1:

DS lives an hour from San Fran, so we've been there several times. We've found that it's always chilly there, even in July! Every morning, you wake up to fog so thick that it completely obscures the Golden Gate Bridge. But, once the fog burns off, what an amazing sight! :goodvibes

I also checked one of the recently posted Navigators and they had 9:45am listed as the all-ashore time and back at 6pm. We've been onboard a couple of times when the ship stayed in Nassau until late at night (midnight and 2am) as a treat for the crew, so there's always the possibility of an extended port time. You know Disney and their disclaimers - always reserving the right to change something or other.

And, golly gee whiz, WHEN is DCL going to finally give you GTY peeps your cabin assignments????? Even I'm on pins and needles hoping you all get good (upgrade!) news!!!!!!

Hope all the sickies feel better soon.

Well DD's school decided to pull a fast one on us at the last minute....got a message Monday night that said, 'as a reminder there will be school on Thurs., and no school on Fri. and Monday.' Ummm reminder?!? :confused3 First you have to be told of a change for it to become a reminder. So out of principal I'm keeping her home from school tomorrow and she's going to work at 7am, like she's scheduled, and then we are leaving early afternoon for Wash DC. Sure would have been nice if they had said something to us ahead of time that this could be a possibility.
Stupid district....there's only 4 schools and they probably think that last minute changes won't bother anyone.

Having a really terrible day here. Youngest DD got the stomach bug my DH had. And then I had to make the decision to keep or loose our Mary Poppins tickets tonight (they are front row mezzanine). Ultimately I am letting them go. The theater will let us go another day for an open seat (Im sure which will be no where near as good as these). Really sad and disappointed. This was our Xmas gift to the kids and even with discounts they were a splurge. Santa gives all of the other cool stuff at our house. They were so excited... and I just couldnt break my younger DD's heart and not have her go at all. wallowing in sadness.... but Im sure Ill get over it soon enough. :guilty:

I'm really sorry you've had a terrible day today. I hope your DD is starting to feel better soon. I know it had to be very hard to let those Mary Poppins tickets go, especially since they were such fantastic seats. :sad1: I'm sure that disappointment doesn't even come close to what you've been feeling all day. Hang in there. Your DIS friends are sending lots of love. :grouphug:

Really sorry you are having such a hard time, that is really disappointing. I had that situation once where I had to give up the tickets so I do understand. I hope everyone feels better soon, that is the most important thing and just try to think of your upcoming cruise. If I may, perhaps it came now instead of before the cruise. Sorry I always try to think of a good reason when bad things happen:confused3 Your family is going to have so. much. fun. on the DREAM!!! Feel better soon

Long islanders in the group? We live in port washington
We were in Stone Ridge NY in the Hudson Valley until Dec. when we moved to Maine. Just now selling out house there, going back this weekend to start to clean out! We were only 90 minutes from mid-town Manhattan.

As some of you know we moved to Maine and have been trying to sell our house in NY and buy one here. Well, hopefully we sign a contract to close on or near March 15th. We are just waiting for radon, etc. We have bid on two houses here and lost. You would never know there was a bad housing market here. Guess cause it is on the coast.

Anyway, I know that we are not getting those houses for a reason because it was not meant to be but I am begining to panic. The moving company will hold our things for two months but that is it. I have looked at every house on the market here in this small town and cannot seem to make anything work. We can extend our rental until the end of May. Yikes:scared1:

All I want to do is step on the beautiful ship and forget my cares for 5 days. Usually I am obsessed with arrangements and combing through all the information but I just can't this time. Please excuse me if my FE gifts are weak this year guys. It is a very bright light in the distance that I get to work towards and I am very glad to have this board to distract me from the stress! Can't wait to meet you all and thanks for listening!!!

oh that is awful rdevine! So sorry!

Where in Maine are you trying to move, WPoohgirl? We summer at our house in York Beach and my brother and sister in law live there.

You will find an awesome trip report, entitled dreams do come true by Timon that has navigators.

Oh, and to my little enablers here, I did purchase the Day and Night Disney Dream LE Vinylmation on ebay and actually did alright, not as good as I would have done had I gotten off my waffling but about it when they first were put up for sale after the MV, but OK and my son is so excited to be one of only 1,000 people in the world to own them. Sooooo, our purchasing power on the ship just got a lot lower for anything else on there, but these are really great for us!
:goodvibes

Oh, and sorry to the multiple mods. Sometimes I get a little feisty when the whining hits a fever pitch on the main cruise forum board. I normally don't pay any attention, but today was a feisty day. I will not push anyone any further, promise!

Still no GTY dance yet. Just checked again this morning. Apparently the 45 day mark is the most common time but who knows.

I've been thinking about my list and haven't solidified it yet. I know it includes my night club tour at 11 pm each night and I will post a schedule if anyone wants to join.

Honestly, I'm running around so much these past few months that relaxing is at the top of the list.

It's 56 degrees outside today and I know it's not gonna last, but it's giving me Spring Fever!

(Can anyone explain to me why the signatures are saying 1 month and four weeks instead of 2 months :confused3. Seems kinda strange.)

Hi,

I'm new to these boards, so I hope I'm posting in the right place!

This will be our second Disney cruise (yay!) and I'm interested in trying the whole fish extender thing. It sounds like a lot of fun.

We are in cabin 7578 and my crew consists of me, 47; my husband, 47; and our daughter (10, nearly 11).

Since I have waited so long to do this, I'm sure our extender will be very basic this time, but we are booked on another cruise in April, 2012. I'll try to be more pro-active for that one!!

How do I get updated lists and such so I can have enough gifts?

Thanks for all the great posts. I have been reading for ages tonight and getting lots of great information.

Welcome Aboard! So glad you joined this thread! :thumbsup2

I am sending you a private message with the complete list of everyone who is participating in the Fish Extender Exchange so far. You can find your private messages by clicking on the link in the top right corner under your name.

Speaking of names, the only thing I need is the names of everyone in your cabin. You don't have enough posts to send a private message yet, so you have two options: You can post comments on the DIS Boards until you have enough to qualify to send private messages. Or, you can post the names on this thread. It's up to you... whatever you're more comfortable with. :)
