April 17, 2004 -- anyone going with us?

Hey Rae, are you at the Holiday Inn Select (MCO) the night before or a different one? We are at the Select.
Kris

Kris,
We are also at the Select and using Happy Limo in the morning!
Our plane gets in late (7PM) so we won't be at the hotel til later (probably having dinner at the Airport and do some shopping)

I got my hotel room for April 16. Usually priceline gives me really cheap rooms at the airport. This time I had to shell out $45 for the Holiday Inn Select. I started at $31 and worked my way up. Last year we got that same hotel for $10 less.

Kris

I got mine for $40.00 but that was back on 1/7. I really wanted to be in the Airport due to the shopping/restaurants, etc, but it didn't work out that way for us!

Welcome back! I had missing you and was hoping that nothing was amiss! Couldn't have that from the "Crusie Ship Shrimp Queen!""

Estelle: I agree about the men and their clothing "issues". My brother went with Tom to get a new sports jacket. Bad move, LOL, he has really good taste!! Last night brother told me that I must have scared Tom, because all he would buy was the jacket! Never knew he listened to me so well - LOL!!!

Take care friends, and until later

thanks Janie - I really missed hearing from everyone. I am on line right now with DVC tyring to get my REAS reservations made.....one thing I absolutely HATE about using points to cruise is that everything has to be done through DVC who has to call DCL - middleman syndrome - waste of time and manpower!!!

I was able to link my dining reservations with Deb and Becky, so that's a good start! Now to see what happens with DVC/DCL about the REAS!

Rae

Welcome back Rae we missed you. And yes I was beginning to wonder if everything was okay. Got our docs this morning and talked to our TA about the possible trip next year. She would do the canal cruise in a heart beat if it is done to coinside with the Disneyland start of celebration. This was the first time DH heard that there was a desire on the part of his DW to take a longer cruise. He was a bit startled. But I hope to convince him. We also have to take the 10 year old grandson to WDW in February.
By the way Rae do you know what Barb and Tony's website is called? I meant to write it down for DH and forgot and of course don't remember where I saw it.
We unfortunately are not in any of the necessary catagories. Maybe we'll be lucky and moved to one of them. LOL About the time that pigs fly.
Rae maybe we'll be at ajoining tables. But probably we'll be on one side and you all will be across the room. Could we bring megaphones?
DG I am so jealous would love to see the Producers. According to the last weather report I heard Saturday should be okay. Going to have rain tonight with snow flurries or showers tomorrow.
Almost time for lunch and my first load of laundry would like to be put in the dryer, so I'm off to handle that.
Once again welcome back Rae, Estelle

RE: My luck with DVC/DCL and REAS - "wait for the letter from DCL but here's the phone number!!!!" Go figure!

I will obediently wait for the letter but if its not here by......then I'll call!

Going to see about packing some stuff tomorrow - went through Michael's clothes today and sorted the shorts/shirts and sneakers. Feels good to know that we will be leaving soon.....5 Saturdays to go.

Rae

A cruising we will go, a cruising we will go.. ... hi ho the dario....a cruising we will go...... :boat: :grouphug: :jumping1:

okay, Lynn, you can stop singing any time now..........:crazy2:

Sing on Lynn!

We are singing "A Pirate's Life For Me" here! Still rating "Pirates of the Caribbean" as THE BEST movie we have ever seen!

Glad I got my hair cut short - looks good and feels GREAT!

Has anyone heard of "Grapple"? It's a fancy Fuji apple that smells and tastes like grapes! We tried them yesterday - found them at the local Kroger grocery. WOW! What a neat idea!

Rae

Hey if they taste like grapes they ought to make interesting wines. The apple wine that tastes like grapes. I'll have to see if our Wegmans' has them.
Rae- Glad the short hair looks good. Mine is getting to the too long but not long enough to wear up stage. So I keep telling myself to call the guy who does my hair and daughters as well. Of course I keep putting it off. But noticed yesterday that it falls in my face even when tied back. Now I really have to get it done.

I guess I really need to watch the Pirates. I have the DVD and need to watch it. I think tonight would be a good time.

If I do the treadmill this afternoon I will have the time to watch the movie.
We are back to semi winter weather. The rain last night never arrived. Today is bright and sunny but very WINDY! And cold. Ah well went to local flower show this morning and looked at all the beautiful flowers. Spring can not be far away. I keep telling myself that.
Okay off to the treadmill. Estelle

Estelle - I hope you enjoy Pirates as much as we do!

Just remember the line "You spent three days lying on the beach drinking rum?" and reply "Welcome to the Caribbean, love!"

Rae

Okay, NOTHING is fitting well. So much for what I am going to wear or NOT wear on the cruise.

AGGGHHHH!

And how many days do I still have to get this winter weight off?

Rae

Hello everyone!

We have not received our documents but are anxiously awaiting after reading some of you have received.

We have had a lot of conversations about attire, packing and what to wear. We will be in Orlando Wednesday night and the packing and unpacking before the cruise will be challenging but the formal attire had us in a pickle. We finally decided it was stressing us out and we would choose other options that evening. Immediately we felt better about the whole thing! Less packing!

I read a thread about the coffee and went into panic mode. I'm considering bringing a small coffee pot now.

Victoria continues to chatter about her 'best friends' Rachel and Mary who will be on the ship. She is looking forward to Goofy's pajama party. She has her bubbles for the sail away party all packed.

Have a great week!

BRUNCH ANNOUNCEMENT

Since there is a great possibility that we will not be able to get our brunch together - the suggestion of having lunch at one of the restaurants together was made.

I think this is an excellent alternative and would like to hear from others about this - what do you think? Majority rules!
Of course, it has to be a Sunday, Monday or Thursday (at sea days).

Rae

Rae,
Sounds good to us. We're pretty flexible folks and since this is our maiden voyage, I don't have too many things planned. Want to rest and do what we feel like doing/or not doing.

Count us in. Let us know know where and when.

Details/plan for a meet after the sail away party??

Thanks -

Janie

We can also do the brunch on our own right. Lunch at one of the restaurants would be fine with us. I know DH and our friends aren't going to be stressing about the whole thing so we're good with the majority too.
Pirates is Sooo neat. Thought I would have a problem with Johnny Depp. But he was terrific. I am afraid I still like Captain Hook but in a pinch Depp'll do.

Our weather has been lovely, if you are indoors. Outside it is cold and windy, the sun is shinning which is a good thing. I keep wishing for a little warmer weather. At least it isn't snowing.
Have discovered that if I do the treadmill in the afternoon I am able to go further than I manage at night. Too tired then. So I am off to walk my 15 minutes. Estelle

Should we pick a day and a restaurant for lunch then? That way we will all show up outside the restaurant and ask to be seated together as a group. Sounds like a plan to me.
Do you think they will do this for a large group or will they make us sit at different tables close together? Inquiring minds want to know....... :crowded: :scratchin

Luv2Dream-- I think that sounds like a good plan. Anyone have a favorite restaurant that they really like. We are good with any of them.
By the way Rae thanks for all the effort put in getting the list together. I'm sure it took a good piece of time.
Going to put unhappy Doberman out now. Her Mom is away for the weekend. So she has no lap to sit on. Later, Estelle
