April 14, 2007 Eastern Cruise!

Yogibigdog: Thank you for forwarding the pics of Ron Jon's. Looks like a fun place we'll enjoy. Since it's just the 3 of us, I booked the studio room for 2 nights. We'll have a car as well incase we want to go to Orlando for a day.

Julian (my DS) wants to know if Tyler likes video games? His favorite games are James Bond, Arena Football, and Madden 2006. Julian plays on a football and soccer team as well. His favorite characters are Chicken Little and Goofy!

Wanted to let you know that the studios are dark and only have a small block glass window which you really can't see out. That window faces the exterior corridors. The rooms are fine but I don’t want you to be disappointed expecting a view or balcony. You will really enjoy the pool and slides.

Don't forget Kennedy Space Center is nearby and you all might really enjoy it. We did it as a day trip from Ron Jon's and it is one of my son's favorite things to do now in Florida. We had time in the afternoon to come back and enjoy the pool.

We just got our confirmation for my DS's Make A Wish cruise for April 14th! So excited. We did the 3 day last summer and loved it but it was just a tease. He will have completed 1 long year of chemo to treat a chronic brain tumor. He is almost 8 and my DD is almost 10. Antone have children their ages? (don't worry about him looking sickly and frightening anyone. You can't tell he's sick at all. He has all his hair and looks very happy and healthy! LOL) They would love a friendly chat relationship before we go! Can't wait to see you all!!!

Welcome! There are several people on this thread that around your son's age. I have two one will be 8 in May and the other 6 in May. We will have to get the kids together online to say Hi before we go.

Yogibigdog: Thanks for the heads up with the Studio being dark. Gladly, we're only there 2 nights and we pretty much will only use the room to sleep (we're beach/pool people) My son really wanted to go back to the Nick Hotel but since we wanted to be close to the port this was the only resort that seemed sorta like the Nick.

Tyler likes video games too. His favorite his Thrillville and Lego Star Wars. Tylers favorite characters are all of them. He's into swimming, cub scouts, and playing with friends. :)

WOW! Julian's favorite, favorite games are also Thrillville and Lego Star wars! He can't wait to meet Tyler. Can they bring their games on board with them? (By the way, How do I add smilies?)

Since there is plenty of activities on the ship, we'll be leaving the electronic games at home. As for the smilies , well I think someone is going to have to help with this. I had a problem using the smilies at first too and finally figured out how to get them. I'm really sorry but I can't remember what I did :confused3 I'm still trying to figure out how to post more than one quote in a reply.

I fooled around with both Tshirt websites and the first one seems way cheaper. Look at my sig. picture and that's the simple Tshirt I designed (in like two seconds). It says Éastern DCL 04/14/07''Still could live without the lime green lettering, sorry disboard. It averaged out to 10.41 each for 20 Tshirts or more (I chose all mediums at the time). The Disney ones are nicer though. Red's out -they have a limited color variety and red's not one. The gold and green are ok. Anybody else have a chance to mess around?

We're easy and will be happy wearing whatever everyone decides for shirts. I am not creative with using graphics and/or pictures from the web. Actually, I have no clue. :confused3 Hopefully, someone else will be more helpfull with ideas for t-shirts than I can be.

First of all, :welcome: apes666!!!

My DS (Ryan) is eight too! He loves video games especially Fifa 07. He is also a boy scout and plays soccer as well as baseball (he's a huge red sox fan!) My DS would love to get in touch with your kids (and everyone elses) before the cruise. Its always easier to have friends to start off with. Maybe we could start an email exchange or even have them write snail mail to eachother.

Apes666, we have a cruise website which I started, www.disneycruise41407.wetpaint.com that has a list of all of the families that we know of that are going on the cruise. I'd love to add you to this list but just to clarify, Its you, and DD10 + DS8, is there a DH in the picture as well?

Again, welcome! Were so glad you'll be crusing with us! What a wonderful wish to make :wizard:

Regarding T-Shirts: Do we want to ask on the Creative DISigns board if they would mind creating us some sort of logo for our T-Shirts? We could then upload this image to whatever T-Shirt manufacturing business that we choose and have our own unique design on the T-Shirts. The design board has been very kind in the past so im sure they wouldn't mind helping us out.

If we were to do this, what design would we want? We could choose on some sort of logo (perhaps steamboat mickey) or something else that unifies us all.

Also, regarding the back of the T-Shirts, what would we want to put on there? I see that some of the usernames wouldn't work for some peoples situations... perhaps we could put the cruise date? Another cute idea that I thought of was that maybe we could put the Dis abbreviation for daughter, son, husband etc. on the back of the shirt and then put the username. So for example, my husbands would say "DH of disneyfanatic3166." Is anyone liking any of these ideas?

My son, Ben, is 9 turning 10 at the end of April and loves video games to distraction. He is cautious around new kids so maybe a pre cruise chat would be a good idea. He is also a cub scout and plays soccer(sounds like those are the things 8-10 year old boys like!)

This is probably too corny but I was thinking for the back of the shirt we could have the date of the cruise and the saying "...this was all started by a mouse" with a picture of a computer mouse. :confused3

Hi All, I think the suggestion of the Creative DISigns creating our shirt is a good idea. A few weeks ago while I was scanning the Disboards, I noticed a group of Disers's t-shirts. I really liked the back of their shirts. It was a good size picture of the "Magic" with the cruise date under the ship. The front of their shirts was a picture of mickey. It was a great looking shirt. How about the color? Red vs. Lime Green?

Welcome!:butterfly

My youngest DS is presently eight but has a B-day the end of March.

He loves Lego Stars II which he got at Christmas and also Billy and Mandy, based on the TV show. Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Naruto, Shaolin Showdown-he's all over cartoonnetwork!

My middle DS is 10, however he is autistic. You can't tell by looking at him until you try to talk to him. He also loves Lego Star Wars II and Billy and Mandy.

I believe Oceaneer's lab has alot of computer games, and they may also have PS2/XBOX I'll have to ask my son. Either way, we are staying at Nickleodean one night and I've noticed after a day of overstimulation (ie: WDW) my kids like to do something typical to their lives to relax before bed.
Nick has PS2's so I'll probably pack Lego Star Wars II.

T-shirts Disboards has a creative department? How cool is that! Yea, let them loose with Steamboat Willie. My kids LOVE those black and white Mickeytoons. I think because they are sooooo busy. I think adding the DCL cruise date on the back or front is great. Tyna that's a great phrase!

I was wondering who of us are getting to the port around 10 or 11? With 3 DS's on my own, I like to do early with few people. We are at the Radisson the night before.

We will be arriving at the port early too between 10 and 11. We are staying at the Country Inns and Suites. We were disappointed last time we stayed at the Radisson.(room was really dirty, whole bag of potato chips smashed under one bed - it was too late in the night to switch rooms) The Country Inn and suites was less money and has a room with bunk beds so we thought we would give it a try.
We will have to have a mini meet in the terminal before we board.

Any castaway club members book any excursions or Palo yet?

I like the idea but we should add the outline of Mickey's ears around the computer mouse. Does that make sense?

I added "Mouse ears" to my cabin door among other things. Here is a picture of my door decorated for Pirate Night

On my last cruise all us DIS'er made door sign and stuck them to the door with our group name that we made up.

Hi everyone!
Wow, you all had a chatty Friday night! I was too exhausted after my crazy week to chat up too much. DH and I went to Universal last weekend (our first and probably last time) and I had alot of catching up to do. It sounds like we all have sons around the same age and Julian is thrilled. getting to know everyone before we leave sounds like a great idea. I will go to the other site. Our headcount is: DH, DW, DD 9, and DS 7. My DD is getting a little worried there are no girls. Anyone have a DD around 9?
By the way you can all call me April. I use Apes666 because noone ever has that user and that makes it easy....
TTYL, April

I'm just getting the hang of this so bear with me... Our family is DH, DW, DD9, DS7, and late dinner... I'll check later to edit my page after you have entered my info. Thanks a heap. April

Pershing- My 14 year old has Williams syndrome a developmental disability. The kids club on the wonder did a great job helping him fit in and participate in every thing. This trip I am worried about letting him go in the stack but will play that by ear. Now that he is 14 he wants to be treated like all the other teenagers so we try to give him a little bit of freedom.

We plan on being at the port early, I would like 10 but will see how the morning goes and where we end up staying. We are flying into Jacksonville Friday afternoon and "discussing" where to stay. Tyna

We'll be staying at Ron Jon's Resort so we'll be at port around 10:00am also. My son can't get to that Mickey slide fast enough :thumbsup2

t-shirts should we give ourselves a deadline date on making a final decision with the shirts? Sorry, my type A personality is now making an appearance. How will we order them? Once we agree on a design, then each family orders their own shirts or does one person take charge of ordering shirts for everyone?
