April 12, 2008, 4-12-08, 4/12/08 Eastern Magic

Luckily, the alcohol and raw bar are gone. Otherwise, that may be a problem.

Our St Maarten excursion was canceled. Don't they email you or something to let you know that happens? I just happened to catch it.

We were on the Magic last year and this excursion was not available. It is new I think. We have it booked. I did read reviews on it and it sounds great. We are just trying to avoid the nude beach in St Maarteen with a 14 yr old DS and a 7 yr old DS.

I am trying to book this tour now - do you have morning or afternoon?
My boy will be sooooo disappointed that we are not going to be a nude beach! :lmao:

Hey everyone!!! We are getting sooooooo close!! I love reading the trip reports ... here's one I just came across that I wanted to share.

It's not for an Eastern cruise ... it's not even on the Magic ... but it is LOADED with great, huge colorful pictures of the Wonder that are just gorgeous. Hope you enjoy!!

I'm bringing the hubby too. His name is Jim.

Are there any boys going or will my 8 year old be the token boy? He's kind of used to it growing up with a big sister.

Megan had problems last night on Webkinz trying to add buddies. Anyone else have issues?

Hi everyone, we are coming to the Aquarium tomorrow.

Looks like the kids activities end at 11:30, so the one o'clock time should be perfect. Between the two of them they have three things tomorrow morning. Tommy does a hitting league on Sat mornings and he has a basketball game and Kayla has Irish Step tomorrow morning.

We are all planning on coming, Tom (DH), myself, Kayla (10) and Tommy (13), so there will be at least one other boy.

Kayla hasn't been on webkinz since getting the list. Our Thurs Fridays and Sat mornings are a little nutty. It seems that all the activities fall on those days. I would think Kayla will try to get on after the Aquarium or on Sunday.

Thats great!!!!:) The kids are so excited to meet everybody. My son will be going also only 5 though...hopefully we won't have to fish him out of the stingray tank:rotfl:

Well I hope you all have a great time tomorrow! We (Ottawa, Canada) are expecting a possibility of 50cm of snow!!!!:confused3 :sad1: So all we are going to be doing in clearing snow and staying off the roads.

That cruise can't come fast enough.

We booked the morning but from what I understand you can stay as long as you want or as leave as early as you would like.

I googled the tiki hut and was able to see some pictures and get a better feel for it. It looks fun to me.

What I can say about the nude beach is that there was not much for a 14yr old to look at that was under the age of 80. I guess that could be a good thing it could frighten them.

I am feeling bad that we will not be able make the meet at the aquarium. We have basketball and then a basketball banquet so there is not a chance we can fit the meet in.

I do not think Drew has responded to a single email. I said he was shy. I keep pushing it. He reads them because he has told me about everyone.

Yes Amanda mentioned to me that Drew has not responed to the emails. Oh well maybe he'll come around and if not, it was a good try.

Remember to post some photos for those of us who can not be there. Thank you.

We've been having homework issues here, so Jen hasn't been on yet. They aren't suppose to be having homework since they are doing the CMT's, but her teacher is making her step up her work and do the work she isn't getting down. So, she will be able to get on webkinz this weekend.

Ryan is going--he is 6.

Christine was also wondering about Drew. I told her not to. He'll come around when he wants. We'll take lots of pictures.

Jen is just so excited. LOL!

See you guys tomorrow.

Hello fellow cruisers,

I hate to brag, but I'm sitting on my back porch, sun is shining, temp is 76:cool1: I'm trying to get a little color to my skin. I don't tan very well, blonde hair, blue eyes, so I burn pretty good, attempting to have my skin get used to the sun :cool2: So, think of this as something you can look forward to when you come down to my neck in the woods, not bragging, I promise.

Hope you all have a great time at the aquarium meet next week.

On formal night, I'm wearing a mid calf length dress with bead work, going to be at Palo's that evening.

Have a great week, and see ya real soon!

Kim

We have been having amazing weather this week too. Sunny every day. I even saw a neighbor in his backyard sunbathing on Wednesday (I haven't had time to sunbathe for 9 years  ) Of course, now that it is dark out, and I have spent the day supervising a Brownie Girl Scout cookie booth and a Tball practice, I have a pretty pink Cosmopolitan in hand (my drink of choice). Close to that tropical drink + sunshine dream, but I am always too busy in daylight hours to drink.... but when the sun goes down ...

I have tried to go shopping, but I keep remembering things I bought ahead that will be great for the cruise. I think I will tell DH that I am shopping tomorrow, and cross my fingers that he goes for it. That leaves him in charge of getting DD to softball, etc. :rolleyes1

I agree - we are expecting a foot over the next 2 days... don't ask me to convert to metric - it has been a long week! LOL

So after getting booted off of the Pinel excursion we have decided to venture out on our own on St Maarten and go to Maho beach and watch the planes come in. Anyone done this before?

I hope everyone that is meeting today has fun! Please post pics!
Everyone else, enjoy your weekend!

Hey gang. I may be the first one back, but I only have pics from my cell phone. They are small and go out of focus when I blow em up.

It was fun and the kids got along like they knew eachother forever. Especially the 9-11 year olds. They were running from thing to thing. Ryan and Lou even had fun chasing eachother up and down the stairs.

Want to talk about small world---Kat used to work for the same company as Bruce and actually have met before. All the husbands came and I think they were pleasantly surprised that they actually enjoyed themselves.

I just want to thank everyone for coming on such a dreary day! It is pouring buckets here and a little chilly.

Gina or Vickie---whoever hasn't gotten palo brunch yet--pm me. I may have an easy solution so you don't have to race to the port just for that.

For all those who are having trouble getting Pao reservations, it is really important to check back weekly (or daily if you are really wanting the ressie) to see what opens up. Also, if you are in a suite, there will be a concierge meeting on the embarkation day where you can book spa, palo and excursions. They generally hold a few spots each day for concierge guests. Also, concierge level can call guest services now and ask for assistance in getting Palo. If they say they can't help you, ask them to put your name on a wait list for it.

Lastly, go each day and put your name on a waiting list. Particularly the first few days when everyone is trying to get their sea legs. People will get seasick and cancel.

Keep checking back though---that is important.

That aquarium visit must have wiped everybody out!

I'm taking Eric -- age 16 -- to get his driver's license today. He's been 16 since November but just finished his required practice hours. Wish me luck!

Have you all already done your online registration? I wonder what is too early and what would be too late.
