Apr 19, 2015 Western Caribbean (Jamaica)

Got locked out of Chukka Beach excursion. We just want to relax at a beach with food and drink available. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mickeydad:confused3

Just paid off our cruise this morning. Got online & booked Palo brunch for Monday. Nothing for Grand Cayman or Cozumel. Been to both before so we will just get off the ship & walk around a little. Jamaica I booked the House tour with the horse & buggy ride. Sounded interesting. DH & I don't do snorkeling & water stuff and the beach at Castaway Cay Serenity Bay is our favorite anyway. Got Cabana #23 at Serenity Bay, but don't tell DH, it's a surprise:cool1:. It will be nice to have a safe for our stuff and then maybe he will go into the water WITH me instead of taking turns. Tube or floats and 1 hour bike rental are included. I figure we will try it once and see if we think it's worth it. It's nice being on one of the smaller ships, because there are less passengers and more chance to get things you want.:thumbsup2

I was looking at the excursions for Cozumel and saw this one. Then I looked at the price and it says ages 12 to 65. What????? The only other thing that I saw that had an age limit was All-Terrain Buggy and Snorkel at Punta Sur National Park which says 10 to 70. My husband will be 71 the day before the cruise. He rides a 1300 cc motorcycle to full-time work 45 minutes each way. The other day I had a customer in my chair and when I told her that my husband was 70 she asked if he used a walker. That must be the same brainlessness that is being used with these 2 activities. Things like zip-lining & snorkeling have no age limits. ??????

Wow! People can be quite inconsiderate! I'd call DCL and ask about that port adventure, I can't imagine that there is an age limit.

Hi everyone,

Doing our online checking yesterday reminded me that I hadn't posted on this role call in quite some time. Signed-in for both our cabins right at 9:00 and was able to get the 11:00-11:30 arrival window that I wanted. Only serenity bay cabanas left (no family beach) so decided to pass on that. Looked briefly at excursions, but haven't decided on anything. Probably pick a port to skip (likely Grand Cayman) so we can enjoy a less crowded day on the ship. We did that on our last Disney cruise and it was the best day of the trip!

Still deciding what to do for 4 days after the cruise. Have our resort booked, but haven't purchased any park tickets yet. Guess I should get on that!

Hope everyones plans are coming together. Not too long now!

Rum Point looked good so we decided to do that. Catamaran ride to get there. Time on the beach with included lunch. Thought it would be a nice way to spend the day and did some google searches - seems to be one of the really nice beaches on the island.

Sounds interesting... we are traveling with DD8. DW not thrilled about being on a Catamaran with her. We may just walk the market at the pier, and then get back on the boat an enjoy the ship with half the normal people on it.....

Anybody done the Dolphin encounter in any of the ports we are going to? Seem like they all offer them and not sure which one to do. Thinking about doing the "Dolphin Kids" encounter in Cozumel. Looks like the best option for younger kids (8 and 4).

Brent

We have never done a dolphin encounter anywhere but are going to try the dolphin encounter in Jamaica (combined with Dunn's River Falls which I've always wanted to see). I know Disney would only recommend family friendly and kid safe activities that were on the "legit" side so we are going to 'go for it' and give it a try.

So I am SO dreaming of our cruise right now because we are getting snow tonight in the expected accumulation of 2+ FEET of snow...... I am going to pretend it's all white sand and I'm at Castaway Cay..... If I loose power, I will be just pretend I'm laying around on the island without TV or computer time.... If the kids start whining, I will pretend they are seagulls overhead screeching for food..............
Disney take me away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

Feel free to send some our way! We finally hit Alaska winter temps--it was -2F today, but still only a little bit of snow.

Well we are almost at 3 feet (31" and counting) with drifts OVER 3-4 feet in some areas of my yard / front and back. The snow on my back deck is trying to come INTO the house.... it's past my knees. I have no front stairs any longer and can't find my 4 foot wall that runs along the driveway. I NEED A BEACH, SAND, SUN, and DRINKS WITH LITTLE UMBRELLAS!:beach:

I was looking at the ones in Jamaica as well, but they all seemed to be combined with the falls which we have already done on a previous cruise. Lot's of fun, you will enjoy it. Bring your water shoes and waterproof camera, you get drenched!

No snow here in Seattle either. Was over 60 degrees a couple days ago which is crazy for January. Came home from work on the kids had shorts on!

Hello Everyone! We are first time cruisers here as well as first time joining the DISboards.com site, so everything looks a bit foreign as far as trying to navigate but I'm catching on. We booked only a few weeks ago and hopefully we can still participate in the FE group.

Welcome Jacqueline! I added you to the roll call on the first thread!
I have one other thing to say...........

I AM DONE WITH SNOW!!!!! OMG SOMEONE SAVE ME!!!!!!!
REMOVE ME FROM MASSACHUSETTS!!!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!
So my five foot pool fence is burried and I can only see about 1.5 feet of it peeking out from the snow in the yard. The snowbanks are higher than I am (I'm 5'4"). I can't STAND IT anymore!!! And MY GOD the kids keep having NO SCHOOL so I keep having to miss work to stay home with them!!!! WHEN WILL IT STOP??? MAKE IT STOP!

Hi Everyone! My kids and I will be on this cruise. It will be our very first cruise and we are really looking forward to it! Passports are in and we are ready to go! :beach:
