hi

can someone please tell me what is an appropriate limo tip- i realize that i may have a different driver on the way back - so he will need to be tipped too

i am paying $160 to universal with southern elegance limo (includes return)

ie. would it be a 20% tip each way?

thanks

Yes,you are correct! You pay the tip each way in case they change the driver for the way back. And 20% is the requested tip for drivers.

I would take 20% of $160 and split it in half, so each driver would get about a $15-16 tip. I wouldn't tip each driver $32.

hi

yeah, i was thinking about $16-$20 each way- $34 seems a little steep for a tip each way

thanks:smooth:

Sorry,I misread your question. The above posters are correct. It's 20% of the total, then split that in half.....

We used FLtours on our recent trip. We were charged 20% tip in our price, common for limo use.

The problem : Limo driver is still standing there with his hand out!

I really felt cheap, but a 20% tip for poor service was more than adequate in my opinion.

Would not use FL tours in the future. I know others have had good experiences with them. But not me.

See my other post.

Just found this on the FL Tours web site:

Most of our drives tell us they earn on an average $10.00 from airport to resort transfers and $15.00 to cruise transfers. Although your round trip fare is due at when you reach your first destination, we recommend you tip your drivers on a per transfer basis.

That's for a towncar in which the R/T price is about $100.

Belle--It's possible FL Tours used an independent driver to fill it. Instead of ignoring the driver I might have told the driver that you pre-paid the gratuity. It's not clear if the driver wanted more money (greedy) , if FL Tours was keeping the gratuity or if the driver didn't realize that the gratuity was paid (maybe the place he normally works for doesn't include it).

That makes since about the Town Car vs. the limo. When I added up gratuity cost at $10 and $15 for our trip, it came to $50. No where near the $78 I am suppose to pay for the limo.
