Applying a Discount? (If one is available)

So here's the deal. We booked through a TA for our trip coming up this December. Had I known how much planning I'd end up doing on my own, I wouldn't have opted for a TA in the first place. TA hasn't been responsive/timely when it's come to my questions about strategy, dining recommendations, etc., usually taking 2 weeks to reply to emails/calls.

Concern: If a discount comes out for the time of our stay, I'll probably know before the TA and I'll want to know my options. She is currently away for 3 weeks with "spotty internet" so if something comes out, she may not be able to help. I've chatted with CM's and they told me that the agent would have to modify our reservation as we didn't book it directly through WDW (which I will always do moving forward).

What would you do in this situation?

If your TA works for a company, I would ask for another agent within the company to apply the discount while she is out of town. You could also make your own reservations and attempt to cancel the booking with the TA, if you feel they are not being responsive, and you end up securing a better deal. I assume you would lose dining reservations and such. If the TA does miss the deal due to unresponsiveness, I would ask the agency to match the Disney discount. Save all email chains and correspondence. Does the company have a phone number? Sometimes you receive better service if you can actually speak with the person. Emails are easy to ignore.
