Apply to be on the Disney Mom Panel Sept. 8th

I just finished my application and well, I would have loved to have been more clever with my responses but I decided to go with honest instead. I doubt that that will get me very far though. I really thought that there would be more to the application. I'm a little bit disappointed with myself really. I guess there are only 16 spots open so I should have answered a bit more competitively. BUT they asked for my favorite WDW tip and HONESTLY Living in FL. and being a WDW buff everyone asks me for tips and the FIRST thing I tell newbies is advice passed on to me by my Grand and that is DON'T enter the park through the castle. Take the path to Tomorrow Land or Adventure Land first. I know it seems like basic knowledge if you are a WDW aficcionado but it has been the first piece of advice I give to any first timer.
I do wish I would have thought of a better answer

I guess I am honest to a fault. Maybe I'll get rewarded for that.

I looked at the bios of the current 12 last night as I was working on my answers, and they all seemed like normal people who could be any of us. here's wishing all of us have Pixie Dust sprinkled on our applications and we make it to the next round!

Its so exciting to wait now and even if I don't get or others to see who does get it. I thought there was more to the app last year besides the three questions but maybe I am imagining that.

It's bittersweet for me, I won't be applying this year but it's for a good reason, I'm due Dec 6 with DS#2! So I'll either go into labor during the required WDW trip or have a newborn - either way it's not going to work, so I'll hold out until next year.

I just applied as well. Thanks to the OP for this thread! I didn't know about last year's application until it was way too late. I had NO IDEA that they were doing this again!
I also just answered the questions on the spot. I LOVE to plan my vacations (and start 6 months to a year or more out), but with things like essays, I always procrastinate and just write them on the spot. I guess it's both a curse and a gift that I have. LOL!

I applied about 45 minutes ago. It went smooth and I didn't get any "messages." I also got an immediate email from the disneyworldmoms.com thanking me for my submission. I called and told my husband and he said that if I don't get picked for the WDW Mom's Panel that there is no real justice in the world. . . he's so supportive! lol! I think he just wants that free family trip!

Sounds fun....but again, I think I'll pass up on applying due to the requirements and the fact that the trip isn't for the 'whole' family from what I understand. Even if it was....what are the other benefits....I haven't really heard of much?

One of of the Moms from the Moms Panel posted on the community board that there are actually two trips. One just for the new Moms in December and also a family trip for up to 4 people. She didn't know what they did if you had more than 4 people in your family.

Just applied too! I think a lot of it is not just WHAT you write in the application, but HOW you write. Think "Disney attitude", with good spelling and an interesting slant. JMHO of course. Good luck everyone!
