Apply to be on the Disney Mom Panel Sept. 8th

Ok...now I am stressing, I see ppl are getting their confirmation email right away. I havent gotten mine yet. Should I be stressed. How soon after you submitted your application did you get a response. I am hoping I didnt put in the wrong email addy.

My confirmations email came about 2 minutes after I submitted my essay questions. I'm sure their site is probably running very slow at this point with the barrage of applicants signing on.

I applied as well. I typed my responses one handed while pumping milk for my youngest . I'm afraid I wasn't too clever. It was fun to apply. But given my history of applying for all those darn house parties I hear about on the budget board and not getting selected, I'm not overly optimistic.

I hope a DIS'er gets picked!

I applied this year too! It's funny because I spent about an hour typing my response in Word only to see that they didn't want you to copy and paste. So I got to print it and type it again!

I also applied last year but was not selected. I felt that my answers were more concise this year but a bit on the creative side. We'll see!

I have two questions:

Why is it that they don't want you to use word and paste your reply into the essay boxes?
and
What's the difference between the Mom's Panel and the Mom's Club?

I applied before I saw this post. I don't know how creative I was or if I'm what they are looking for but this is my DREAM job (OK, it could be better if they actually paid me to do it! But I BLEED Disney so I was excited just to have the opportunity.

Well, I said I wasn't going to apply....but sitting here with stained hands (just finished my Mickey Tie Dye's) I figured what the heck...LOL It was a short and sweet application process....just 3 questions!!!! Wow, amazed that they can really learn so much about a person as to choose them for such an honorable position by just 3 questions. Anyhow, best wishes to each of you

I just royally goofed up . I wrote all my responses last night becasue I'm at a seminar all day today and on our 15 min break I ran to the room and posted my answers. I didn't read closely and I see from the posts that they didn't want you to cut and paste and that is what I did . Shoot. I guess that will teach me to look a little closer.

I just finished my application, too. I agree, how do they narrow the finalists down from just three questions. Oh well, if it goes as last year, all who applied before the applications were closed got a great goody package, kind of a consolation prize.

Sent mine in agian too ... last time I took some time to really think it out and write out and retype my responses, this time I just went off the top of my head. I figured it I thought too long about it I would screw it up, so its done And I noticed that I had one word left on each of the 3 questions...interesting! I tried to get my husband to enter, but here I am doing it again!

We are already in Disney from December 3-9th so it would be fine by me to extend my trip by a few days

How can they tell if someone pasted regular text into the text boxes on the application? I wonder...

I received my confirmation email immediatley after I submitted my response, I was shocked to get it so soon. It was in the spam folder of my account so double check there to be sure. Last time around if I remember correctly, it was atleast an hour or some before I got confirmation from them. Keep checking, if you entered the site to say you already applied, then they have it ... its not like you have a confirmation number to keep for when they call you, so relax and know you made it in before the site shuts down

Me too, did it flow, did it sound dumb, did they get the jist of who I am from 300 words divided into 3 different parts. I am letting this go. If I get a call, then kudos to me, if you get a call, then kudos to YOU!

I have NO problem going to WDW without my family. I did it for the marathon in 2003, and I'll do it again! Sure I'll miss them, but they will benefit from it too it seems!

Sorry -- me again...just wondering if anybody knew when contact would be made (if so). I did get an immediate response from WDW that they received my app and it did say that they didn't have time to contact everybody for further review...just wondered when I could consider the 'case closed.'

Someone posted on the other Mom's Panel thread community board That Oct 17 was the notification of the Phase 2. Someone just posted that maybe there won't be a phase 2 as the questions this year seem to combine both phases of questions.
